this place has great authentic tacos. they are so good. gives you enough meat in the tacos to fill up on just 2. i love that they were so nice and this place i recommend to my customers who are looking for good tacos. good place to eat.

If your in the mood for a quick, no frills place to eat a Mexican dinner, this is the spot. The taste of the beef enchiladas de mole were similar to the beef quesadillas. According to my friend, the menudo was just right. The servings portion are plentiful - its either a to go box or leave very full.Checking in with YELP landed me a small Free horchata. My suggestion is to drink this concoction after the meal. Very sweet and will surely clear the palate. No need for desert.Be careful of the bottomless chips and salsa. In my view, the salsa is freshly made but the chips are deep fried tortilla. Making them thick and at times a bit hard to chew. Servers are attentive and constantly checking to make sure you have you need. If you're looking for authentic tacos and Mexican in Norfolk, Jessy's has it. Starting off, their guacamole is the gold standard. I always enjoy it with chipotle sauce added, giving it a nice smoky taste layered in with the fresh avocado, but plain is great too. Chips are made in house and offer a hearty crunch when shoveling the great guac. If you choose to go the taco route, you'll find the usual options you'd expect from an authentic taqueria, and done very well. It's easy to polish off a plate of three or four in a sitting. I'm also a fan of the Alambre plate-- basically carne asada served sizzling with peppers, onions, bacon, and cheese. If you're looking for a meal to keep you full all day, this is it. I enjoy their food every single time. I usually get the shredded beef taco but I got the chimichanga today. Amazing!!!! Also stopped by the bakery! !! The wait was a little long but I didnt make a fuss because it was the beginning of lunch time. Staff was friendly but didnt really exceed my expectations...which is fine. Jessy’s makes other famous chains seem like Taco Bell! The chilaquiles were amazing. The Mexican Street corn was fresh the seasoning awakens your taste buds! I started off with the Choriqueso at the suggestion of Gabbie, excellent recommendation. Ask for Gabbie when you come. For dinner I had the Alambre-wired steak and if was terrific. We came to Jessys late on Saturday after a few drinks out with friends and were so pleasantly surprised. The food was great and I'm pretty sure they stayed open late just for us. It's definitely a neighborhood gem. We got the California burrito and the shrimp fajitas quesadilla, as well as chips and salsa. The chips were clearly homemade and super crunchy. If you've read any other reviews of this place, you'll see that the word "authentic" comes up regularly. I won't disagree whatsoever! This Jessy's location is perfect for dinner before a visit to the beach, which is a short walk or drive away. I had recently been told about this restaurant from a Yelp friend, so I was stoked to have the chance to dine here soon after on a busy Friday night.We opted to sit outside which was nicely lit for a romantic feeling despite the casual environment. As for the food: chips and salsa were on par. For my meal, I had wonderfully flavorful carnitas tacos that made me want to continue eating even after I was full. The meal wouldn't have been complete without a cold beer, and a Mexican popsicle from the adjoining convenience-type store. It was neat to walk over there after dinner to check out the random goodies they sell there. Our server wasn't very attentive, but pleasant.Overall, I would have to return to get a fuller experience, as I didn't eat a ton on my first visit. The tacos here are incredible. I tried adobada, al pastor, barbacoa and chorizo. The barbacoa was a bit dry but the flavor in all of the others was perfection. We came here after seeing the place on Diner's, Drive Inn's, and Dive's. We were seated and greeted promptly. Food came out quick as well. We got chips and bean dip for an appetizer which was great. The bean dip was super creamy. I got the pozole, and it was delicious and fresh. My husband had the chori steak, and it was delicious as well. Great service, great food. We will be back. Decided to hit up postmates today for a quick snack with the hubby. I checked out the restaurants that had free delivery at that time (they only stay up for 5 minutes). I chose this place as it was listed up there and quickly added things to my cart. I got a steak taco, sausage taco, and one of each tamale. Let's just say I sure cant wait to go in and try more of their food. Everything was SO good. We came here from California and have missed the food from there. Well this place has food very similiar if not exactly like California's mexican restaurants.
