Jerry J's on Plant avenue in Waycross has been remodeled and it looks amazing. The food and service are outstanding. New dishes like fried cubed steak with gravy, chicken broccoli casserole and the Chicken Philly Jack! All-time favorites like the backyard burger and their breakfast are still as good as ever! Excellent home cooking food! Christian friendly place. Every time My family and I go to Waycross, we eat here! We look forward to getting the fried shrimp with cheese grits and green beans. Hometown food, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A little pricey but worth it. Good food, good service, reasonably fast, good atmosphere, really clean. Nice place to take the whole family and everybody be able to get what each wants to eat, the variety of food choices is that good. And it really is the best, safest family dining location in the area. Not open on Sundays. These folks go to church and take family time! They also have a separate dining area for civic club meetings, family reunions, business meetings, whatever. The parking lot is tight, shared with several other businesses, but there's usually enough room to park any time of the day. And they have a drive thru! We love it here, my brother has never had it and today 11/28/16 was his first meal here and he loved it. He ate rwo plates of the phillyjack and asked for thirds on the yumyum sauce!!

Always try to hit locally owned places when I travel. This place didn't disappoint. Had the grilled marinated chicken. It came with a side of BBQ which I didn't need because the chicken was tender and very flavorful. Also, had green beans and mac and cheese for sides. Well another great dinner at Jerry J's (Plant Ave.) I just had the pork chop dinner with greens and REAL baby lima beans . ... yeah they were actually cooked for a couple of hours ... Just moved to Waycross, Ga. about two weeks ago. The wife and I decide to try this establishment and we are glad we did. It was very good cooking the kind momma use to make. I had a platter that consisted of three meats and two veggies for $8.99 cant beat that. I have eaten her at least a dozen times over the past ten years and it is consistently good in food quality and service. It is a no frills place with counter service and self serve drinks. But the country food they serve is always good and the dining room is always spotless. Once you order, get your drinks and silverware and shortly after you get to table you are served your food, hot and delicious. I need to give this place 4 stars for a few reasons. It's probably the only restaurant in town. It's prices are dirt cheap. And it's very clean. They have multiple side options for your fried chicken. Have the biscuit instead of the corn bread. I've been to this place twice (once a few years ago and once last night) and it's always very good. I get the pork chops (because we don't have good southern pork chops in CA) and they always taste great. The sides taste pretty good. I've had the green beans, black eyed peas, fries and corn bread here and they are all average. Â The staff is friendly and helpful and they bring your food out to you.
