This is a long overdue review of one of our faves for over 10 years. It is a small restaurant that's easy to miss in a busy strip mall but once you try their food, you'll always go back. This is our go-to for Banh-mi, Boba drinks & Imperial rolls. We've always done take-out which is so appropriate during COVID-19. The french bread is always fresh & stays crunchy outside & soft inside hours later. The picked carrots & daikon is the perfect taste-booster to any meat you might like. I like the Combo, with headham cheese. The 2-in-1 BBQ pork & chicken is also a favorite of my hubby. Cilantro & jalapeno are optional. We're confident that the quality & flavor remains the same always. It hasn't disappointed us. There are other items in their menu you can try. On our last visit, a great special was to add a drink (except for Smoothies) for only $3. My Combo banh-mi & Honeydew Milktea with Boba was $8.25!!!COVID-19 precautions: 1 party allowed inside at a time to place an order or pick up; wait outside. Plexi glass separates the patrons from the servers. Hand sanitizers are visible & available for all. More...

This is a small family owned, mom and pop cafe in Union City. The location is a little hard to find as it's in a little alley in the corner (around UPS), but you'll definitely come back once you know where it is. My family orders from them almost every week, with BBQ pork bahn mi being our very favorite. The bread is crispy but not too hard on the outside and soft and chewy inside. They put in just the perfect amount of protein, spread, and veggies to balance out the flavors. I tried their taro dalgona coffee before and just tried their sexy tea today. They both tasted as wonderful as they looked! In addition to the delicious food, their customer service is exceptional! Definitely give then a try if you are around the area! More...

First time ordering here. We are in shelter in place because of covid-19. I have ordered from most local businesses the past two weeks. So the food. First off, the grilled pork chop with fried rice was good! I ordered three banh mi and a cheeseburger for my son. Chicken, two in one, and pork and pate. I love the texture of the bread. Not too hard outside and soft inside. The banh mi flavors were good. And the price is fine. And my son says the burger was good! Overall, good first experience. I will order something different next time. More...

The flavor in their Bahn Mi sandwiches are out of the ordinary from what I have had before. Ranging from teriyaki flavors to butter chicken, the options are all flavorful and for the price, they were very much reasonable. The location is a bit hidden in that plaza so look out for the signs pointing to the cafe. A little effort goes a long way here for you will not be disappointed in the treasure that you seek. I tried this place for the very first time. I come from James Logan High School and I had graduated 5 years ago, so everyone in my class that I know has at least been here once or a true customer of this place and have hyped it up for years! So, I decided to come here for the first time and see what was all the hype about. I think they have extended their menu as it was only sandwiches before, I believe. My boyfriend and I decided to come here this Monday for lunch around 2-3pm. There was no one eating here except for us. I ordered the meat combo pho with thai tea and my boyfriend ordered the jenjons burger w/a fried egg and curly fries as well as pork egg rolls. So, the thai tea was the first to come out. It had a veryyy distinct taste. It's as if they used coconut milk instead of regular milk/creamer. I can't really tell but there is a tarty bitter taste at first, then it taste like a normal authentic Vietnamese thai tea that you would get at any other pho restaurant. The egg rolls were also very small/bite sized (as expected) and were really hot, however my boyfriend said they were really good (I didn't touch them). The curly fries were as expected, frozen till fried, and it wasn't so bad. When I received my pho, it looked like a medium sized bowl. There was a crap load of spices on top of the green onions. I never seen that before, so I am assuming that the broth itself isn't as flavorful? When took a sip of the soup, it was very flavorful so that didn't disappoint. The only 3 complaints that I have about this pho was the noodles. It was way too much and they broke apart really easily (means it's overcooked). Also, the meatballs tasted really old. It may be possible that not a lot of people order the meatballs often so that is why it has a distinct plastic, old taste to it? I completely put all the meatballs to the side. The rest of the bowl itself was fine and very filling. My boyfriend's burger however was served without his fried egg at first. He hadn't touched it yet until the chef or the server realized there was no egg in it. So the server came back and notified us that the chef forgot the egg. No problem. After they had fixed their mistake, my boyfriend finished most of the burger, but only to say that it is "not bad". There's nothing really special in the burger, just that it is good enough to ingest. Other than that, the food is literally the quality of its price. I feel like their specialties lie within their Vietnamese sandwiches and so I would have to try that one of these days instead of ordering all their random items. I think it's great to broaden the menu, but keeping it within their specialty is just as great. More...

2.5*So I was craving a specific taste when it comes to banh mi. I was excited to try a new place especially due to the great reviews. Man.. I was so hungry after work that I ordered popcorn chicken, egg rolls and a grilled pork banh mi. And no, I did not finish it all but was darn close.Egg roll: these mini egg rolls were filled with taro mostly. Tasty but a bit mushy due to the taro. I like dipping them in fish sauce not the sweet chili sauce they had. Thin, light and crisp exterior though. 3/5*Popcorn chicken: I've never not eaten all popcorn chicken til I went here. Some pieces were a darker brown as if it was old meat. and a few tasted off.. and the other pieces which didn't have an off putting taste tasted like nothing .. just oil. It really needed seasoning. The fried basil was a nice touch.. 1.5/5*Banh mi: they said it's their most popular item. It wasn't bad but not what I was hoping for. The bread is just soft, not lightly toasted. The meat was heavily flavored in lemongrass. I tasted pickled carrot and daikon and lemongrass pork.  3/5*Not planning to go back but glad I tried it still. Wish the banh mi had onion in it, more mayo, sprinkle of peanuts, lightly crisp exterior to the bread and less lemongrass flavor in the marinade. Yes that was what I was hoping for lol. More...

Everything I tried here is delicious! I've had the ginger pepper salmon with rice and also tried it with the noodles. I would say rice option is better. This is really good if they add a lot of sauce. The bbq pork sandwich is filling for the price! I would give it an 8/10.The pork spring rolls is a 10/10 for me. The crunchy stick gives it so much texture! The order was a lot bigger than I expected and I got full off of eating 3 (I eat a lot, and ate it during my 30 min lunch). More...

Cute and small cafe! Lots of food and drink options. I got the grilled pork banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee. The bread for the banh mi was so fresh and crunchy! Really a delicious sandwich! The iced coffee was lighter in color than I expected, but actually really tasty! I enjoyed my meal at Jenjon's and stayed for a couple hours to do some studying. It got busy with young students in the afternoon when school was released nearby, but they were not too loud or disruptive. Will be returning again! :) More...

Can't believe I just barely tried this place. So much food so little time. Disclaimer: I used Grubhub delivery which I usually never do. Had the combo sandwich or banh mi. It had a decent amount of meat and veggies ratio and that fresh jalapeño that I love. Was not as crunchy as usual because of the grub hub delivery factor. The vegetarian egg rolls arrived cold but were good flavor and size but more on the snack size. Same story with the shoe string fries they arrived cold. The taro smoothie was just the right amount of boba and sweetness but once again it was room temperature and not as good. This is why I hate food delivery apps it always takes  away from the food presentation and taste. Next wIll definitely just go in and avoid this.I will update when I do. More...

If you order any vegetarian dishes at this restaurant, it is not fully vegetarian. Last week I ordered a vegetarian fried rice from JenJon' s and when I ate it I sensed the taste of fish sauce in the fried rice rather than the vegetarian alternative which would be soy sauce. If you are to order a  vegetarian fish from here, make sure you specifically request your fish to be made with soy sauce rather than fish sauce. More...

TLDR; warm banh mi is amazing, get the teriyaki chicken banh miThe warm bread of their banh mi is soft and goes so well with the rest of the sandwich. I tried both the teriyaki chicken and bbq pork banh mi. The teriyaki chicken was the perfect blend of warm sweet and savory happiness in my mouth. The chicken was cooked perfectly with the juiciness pairing so well with the fresh veggies and avocado. The bbq pork was what you'd expect it to be. I'm a regular at Jenjon's cafe. Its a quite little spot, that's a bit hard to find, but once you know, you'll be going back. It's only a couple tables but their menu is quite big and extremely reasonably priced. I actually really enjoy fruit teas as well. Why one star off?Well I usually take my sandwich togo, and once I had a piece of black metal in my chicken. No bueno. But I did let them know the next time I was there and they comped a sandwich. Also, they open at 10 but the boba isn't ready until quite a bit after. More...

I feel really bad about giving this place 3 out of 5 stars bc i love supporting local vietnamese eaterys especially in this area but i gotta give my best opinion. So i order the pork belly sandwich with pate. The pate was sooo weird like it looks just look paste. The pork belly was not even juicy at all or apptizeing. And i didnt even finish my sandwich i threw half of it away. My boyfriend got the grilled pork with no mayo and no veggies which they got correctly. I also got jasmin milk tea with coffee jelly this place does not offer grass jelly or any fruit bits kinda disappointing. The pate in my sandwich made my bread all soft and gooy it was kinda gross. The best thing in my opinion is their bahn mi combo for like two extra bucks. The sexy tea drink is also super yummy. When I visited again 6 months later, the price went up by 10%, the amount of meat on the plate shrank, and the flavor wasn't as good as before.  By the way, it could be a trick question when asked "rice or noodle".  The combo plate comes with rice or vermicelli.  If you simply answer "noodle" without insisting "vermicelli", you could get charged extra and would receive a plate of spicy spaghetti.
