My husband and I hired Jema Design to redesign our kitchen. Before the work started, Marilyn provided a thorough survey to find out our budget and what we wanted in our new kitchen. She introduced many innovative ideas which brought our kitchen from the 70’s into the 21st century. Her ideas included an open floor concept with new cabinets, fixtures, recessed lighting, modern appliances (including a double wall oven), quartz countertops, window treatments, a fully functioning island and private counter space to function as my desk whenever I work from home. A prospective client contacts us via our website and schedule a Discovery Call. We ask the client to answer a few questions as part of our qualifying process to determine we will move forward with their project.
RESEARCH
STEP 1 Virtual Meet & Greet
STEP 2 Initial Visit with Marilyn Ajose & Designers at project site
STEP 3 Scope of Work prepared & presented
STEP 4 Signing of contract, receipt of design payment
STEP 5 Commencement of project (internal kick off meeting)
STEP 6 Client Interviews (ongoing as needed)
DEVELOPMENT
STEP 7 Trade Day: meeting with contractors, receiving bids, on-site measurements, etc.
STEP 8 Execution of floor plans, elevations, sourcing fabrics, furnishings & finishes

Transforming lives. Our goal is help our clients get started on a new project; overcome a fear or challenge of not knowing what to expect; showing how courageousness and finally expressing their true self in their redesign spaces.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I asked myself "What makes something meaningful?" That depends on what we think is important, significant or valuable. I started my business because if felt that people experience difficult situations but can find meaning work, love and caring for others. If any of my clients are in a situation, I know we can help them find courage in re-designing they personal spaces to uplift each moment.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients should choose us because we create complete designs and take care of every last detail, saving you time and preventing costly mistakes. The investment for a project consists of a flat design fee, base on the size and type of room(s), and furnishings budget. Professional services offered during the project included: design furniture floor plans, design development, and presentations of selections, scheduling and ordering, and installation. All projects, regardless of the size, are handled with the same precise process.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Because most of our project require onsite visits, we have followed the CDC guideline and have continued to use protective measures like face covering, washing of hands, and sanitizing surfaces, hands and equipment that are used during our visits.
