Q&As

Business tax, accounting, full service payroll preparation, and consulting as well as individual income tax preparation.

Because small businesses need to be able to rely on someone that can be responsive to their various tax, accounting, payroll, and consulting needs that invariably change over time. A good accountant will be responsive to your needs.

Of course, getting to know the clients better through normal interactions of the business relationship.

Running your own business certainly has it's challenges. CPA practices are no different. Being your own boss as a CPA allows you to avoid the miscommunication and complications that can develop with clients that sometimes happens in a larger CPA practice.

Because I offer responsive services to each client that needs it, and recognize some clients need a little help, and some need a lot of help, and some need help somewhere in the middle. But they all deserve the attention that they need.

Yes. If a client prefers to talk, text, email, meet in person, or have a video conference, I can arrange this. Many times, payroll, accounting, consulting, and tax work can be done with as much or as little interaction that is desired by the client. It is simply what the preference of the client is balanced by what makes sense under the circumstances.

I am willing to wear a mask if an in person meeting is desired. Clients can drop off information using a secure mail chute.

Services

Once the payroll is setup, clients can call, text, email, or fax hours or gross pay for the upcoming payroll. Everything else is taken care of by my firm. Taxes are paid timely, payroll reports (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.) are filed timely without more interaction from the client. Payroll summaries are provided for each payroll and at the end of each quarter. Client specialized reporting needs are provided if needed.

My firm provides tax preparation services for all types of businesses as well as individual income tax preparation.

Business income tax preparation usually involves the most common tax entities as an LLC, sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or an S corporation. Non profit forms are also required for a charitable or other type of non profit organization.

Once a business has an adequate summary of income and expenses, tax preparation can be accomplished.

Accounting services are what is provided before a tax return preparation is possible. Sometimes clients provide most or some of this, other times, my firm prepares accounting information by reviewing and compiling the deposits and payments from bank statements. The amount of help required by each client varies, and can cover the full spectrum--from very little help needed to very much help needed.

Typical consulting services offered are what type of entity should be established when beginning a business, or if it makes sense to convert to a new type of entity. S corporation consideration is the most common analysis for small businesses of my practice.

Consulting may also be necessary if a client is self employed and needs help in making sure enough taxes are being paid timely and equally throughout the year as required.

More generally, clients call when they need some tax issue or accounting issue explained or problem solved.
