Q&As

A great website meets the objectives of the business and the needs of it's audience. A combination of appropriate messaging and intuitive interface design make the audience react. It is not just about making a great looking website, it is about designing a website that drives a business forward.

Who is your audience? What is the business objectives of the website? What is the timeframe for the project? What is a realistic budget? Is your brand in need of development or enhancement?

It all depends on the project at hand. Every creative project is different. The first step is always to speak with the client and get a good understanding of the objectives of the project. From there a detailed estimate can be put together that outlines scope, timeframe and cost. Once the parameters are agreed upon the creative process begins. A series of first round designs are created that are presented to the client. The client can then provide feedback and additional rounds of design are done to hone in on a final execution.

A brief overview of the project and timeframe. Usually requires an initial conversation with the client to fully understand the scope of the project.

Wowing my clients. I have been doing this for a long time and enjoy bringing clients visions to life. I equate it to the modern TV show Treehouse Masters. I have the same pride in showing the end product as Pete Nelson has in showing off his final creation.

Working in the advertising business for many years and realizing my work was the product. Realized I did not need anyone's help to sell my work and then it was off to the races. Started my own business and have been doing this for 25+ years.

I work smart and fast. I produce engaging creative that meets business needs. I am more than a designer. I am a business strategy partner with high level creative skills. A very unique combination.

A well-designed logo is the foundation of your company’s brand identity. My logo designs are unique, appropriate and memorable. They are simple in form but versatile in execution, working both large and small and across all mediums. Every element of my logo solutions, from graphic iconography to color choices, is designed to influence a potential customer’s perception of your business.

Being a professional website designer means being able to create everything from basic brochureware sites to complex business critical environments. Over two decades, I have worked on all levels of website design. I have helped existing websites improve audience engagement, increase conversion rates and better satisfy the needs of their target audiences and I have built sites from the ground up including initial strategic planning, information architecture, UI/UX design and content development.

Whether you would like me to help drive traffic, showcase a product or just tell your story, brochures are effective at engaging and educating your audience. It’s all about design with brochures. Great design compels your audience to read all about what you are doing. Bad design ends up in the recycling bin.

I have designed countless Powerpoint presentations for clients to help sell services/products to prospective clients and for business professionals looking to communicate ideas internally to get concept buy in or budget approval.

I always tell my clients I design trade show graphics that grab eyeballs because that it what I think matters most. Messaging and visuals must demand attention and tell enough of the story to peak interest of passers by even when the heavy traffic of a trade show gets in the way. And when budgets warrant it, I’ve helped companies create complete brand experiences on the trade show floor driving new business opportunities.

Online marketing has a broad scope. It can be anything from a single online ad campaign to a combination of synergistic online marketing tools designed to work together to meet your needs. I have created results-oriented online marketing campaigns for company’s like Hasbro, National Geographic and Long Fence & Home for more than two decades. Whether you are looking to launch a banner ad campaign, introduce an online webinar series, or build a conversion-focused microsite, I can help you successfully reach your audience.

Social media promotion is an extremely targetable and effective means of promoting your business. Social media campaigns can pinpoint your audience down to the zip code, age, gender and even behaviors. Engaging visual executions and clever messaging can captivate an audience and help you take advantage of the viral nature of social media. And when done right, social media campaigns can be your most effective marketing tool.

Whether for magazines, newspapers, billboards or online, advertisement design is about using the available advertising space to your best advantage. Will there be other ads surrounding yours, is the billboard on a busy street where traffic is slow or on the side of a highway where viewing time is much less? Are you splurging for the back cover placement? I have helped companies like Traveler’s Insurance, American Chemistry Council, and Sundance Spas come up with strategic advertising campaigns that are truly budget conscious.

We all get an overwhelming number of emails these days. All this noise makes it difficult to get your email even opened never mind read. Whether you’re trying to sell a product or simply support an existing customer great design, appropriate messaging and sound strategy all play a part. Do it right or end up in the junk folder.

Poster design can change the selling atmosphere in a retail store, add finish to an office environment and so much more. A mix of visual components and clever messaging help visitors understand the environment around them or the value of your products and services while shopping.

Apps can do just about anything – order groceries, share photos, buy stocks, you name it and it can be done. When it comes to App design, user experience is king. I have designed Apps for both the iOS and Android operating systems from initial strategic planning through prototype design all the way through App Store launch. I work with top iOS and Android developers to ensure a cohesive App building experience.

Your company’s brand should be well represented whenever you are communicating with potential and existing clients. Business cards, letterhead, invoices, whitepapers, reports, purchase orders, email signatures and all other types of business communications are extensions of your company’s brand. Together they all help to reinforce the company image and brand promise.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well with infographic design that phrase could never be more true. Some concepts are hard to explain quickly and if not told in a way that engages the audience can lose the interest of a reader. If points A, B, C, and D need to be understood before a reader can confidently decide about the validity of point E, an infographic can bring the audience through the concept and give them the information they need to make a confident decision or come to a desired conclusion. I have helped companies tell complex stories like the value of a new cloud technology platform, the importance of the entire lifecycle of recyclable plastic material or how the filtration system and jets work on a Sundance Spa. I take pride in being able to simplify complex stories into easily digestible components that readers can grasp quickly.

Coming up with the best name for your business or product is more complicated than ever in today’s crowded marketplace. From trademark road blocks to domain name availability, brainstorming business name ideas that are viable choices for your business can be challenging. I have been helping company’s navigate this maze for more than two decades creating names that resonate with their target audiences.
