About a moth ago I submitted a hearts apart application but their system was changing and I kept receiving an error message. A couple weeks go by and surprisingly I received an email from them stating that there was not a photographer in our area but there is one in Austin if we’d be willing to travel. Well today, my family and I got the chance to meet Mr. Miles. He was very nice and super accommodating with our family of six. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Relevance – needs to have meaning for the client.
Lighting – great lighting to present the client in best way.
Background – backgrounds that are beautiful but don’t distract from the client.
Editing – this is the “icing on the cake”.
A relaxed and engaged client. If you don't like your photos, nothing else matters.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
How are you going to use the pictures?
What are your expectations? Are there any specific shots you would like?
You will be asked to sign a contract and a model release.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love taking family pictures. I did not understand the artistic or technical challenges I would face when I jumped in. However, I love it even more. I work hard to improve my capabilities.
Why should our clients choose you?
Print focused. Panoramas, composites, large prints. Get the photo that your family will discuss for decades. We edit for printing not for Facebook. There is a difference.
You will get a photo shoot and editing that are customized to your needs.
JDMiles Photography is insured and uses only professional equipment.
You will receive a flat price quote. This will include the photographer for the specified time. It will also include editing to optimize overall print. Special editing request are usually done at an additional cost.
We provide print services, book and album print services, and slideshow services.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
You will have a private web address to choose photos and make request.
You will be able to order prints from my printer at cost.
RECOMMENDED: You will also be able to request large prints printed by JDMiles Photography.
You will be provided a web address where you can download your pictures and a print release that allows you to print where ever you wish.
Most preparatory work will be done through the exchange of emails.
Contracts will be signed through Adobe sign.
Payments will be though Paypal.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
At the current time I am only taking jobs that can be performed outside or at the customers home. I received my second Covid-19 shot 3/31. We will easily be able to social distance outside and still get great photos. We will have a conversation through email early in the planning to make sure you feel comfortable with the plan.
