Life Coaching

Working with Damien has been so productive and has truly helped me get rid of poor habits and adopt healthier habits that empower me to make positive changes and achieve my goals.

He helped me get to the root of my panicked and disordered eating and assisted me in setting goals, assessing why the goals might not have been achieved, and adjusting my routines and habits to reach them.

I have and continue to see positive emotional and physical results and can't wait to use these tools each day.

"It was a surprisingly deep experience. Different than EMDR and therapy. Wild to go through what each stage wanted IF something came to pass. So many quiet assumptions. id' never found a systematic way to unearth all those quiet thoughts. A unique and complimentary experience to everything else I'm donig. Q&As

There is a lot, but if I had to put it in a list, it would be:
1. Helping people overcome the blocks that have been holding them back, for years and sometimes decades, that then opens up the flood gates of their potential. This can be anything from overcoming anxiety or eating healthier on a consistent basis. No matter what it is for the person, it had been a block for them.

2. Helping people build the skills and see what they're capable of doing - from starting a busienss, to allowing their creative side the time and space to roam free. It's like they've given themselves permission to dream again, and seeing that spark of curiosity and play come alive within them is amazing.

3. Hearing how, transforming themselves within the containers of the Coaching Calls, expands and transforms their lives the real world. This allows them to take actions they didn't think were possible, to improve their relationships, to have hope, to organize and move with purpose in their lives.

4. To know that although at the beginning, they needed to trust me, it is in being able to see their increased Trust and Confidence within themselves.

5. Seeing how it transforms their relationships and what they think they're capable of, when it comes to their relationships, to their career, and to their health. Nothing is better than knowing they can now have more confidence and do what they had intended to do.

There are many reasons I love my job - these are the top ones that come to mind.

I've always been interested in knowing how and why people do the things they do...and more importantly, how do they change.

This curiosity started with my personal life and why my stepfather was an alcoholic and why my mom stayed with him, but then with myself and all the 'bad lessons' I was taught and had to move past.

For years, I ran coaching programs for groups of people, looking to change their habits. Many, many of those programs deal with very logical things - how to set up your environment, the skills you need to be able to stay on track, what spurs the habit, and how to change it. All essential things to know.

The problem with that, is that humans don't act on logic. If we did, no one would have credit card debt (if they didn't need it), we wouldn't have wars, we would prioritize our health as opposed to putting it on the back burner, amongst so many other examples.

Instead, we act on emotion and then only explain it with logic, after the fact. Too often, change methods try to change that logic with reasoning. Trying to add logic, to our logic, hoping it will change our actions.

But change doesn't work that way. Working with people for decades in a 1-on-1 setting, change works in the opposite direction - by changing how you emotionally feel about a thing.

And I'm not talking simple Emotional Regulation techniques or Increased Motivation or Willpower or Self-Discipline, although these are always needed because our brains and body love 'efficiency' (aka, to be as lazy as possible). Instead, what I'm talking about are the Implicit Associations, the 'Automatic Connections' that your Mind and Body make that cause your emotions, that spur you to act.

If you can change those...then, then you can how you act, without needing years of trying to figure out 'why you did something.' You will learn why - directly. In that way, you have the powerful ways to change, in an easier way, that allows you to have less internal struggles, and leads to a more permanent change.

This is why I started my business - to be able to help people make these changes in the most efficient AND effective ways possible. In doing so, people get to transform their bodies, their minds, their relationships, their belief in themselves, and their lives.

I help people clear the roadblocks of what's standing in their way, what's holding them back, so they can take the actions and Be the Person they want to be, to Live the Life they Want to live.

When people think of relationships, they focus on the external. How their partner is the source of their misery. How, if their partner changed, then everything would be good. So they want to do "therapy" or Relationship Coaching, so that their partner changes and if they change, then they will be happy.

I take the opposite view: When you fully delve into the Stories of what you are "demanding" from your partner and the energy that you have the ability to Control - Your Own - then it becomes easier to genuinely and empathetically feel secure in your Self and then to make honest requests from your Partner.

We must work on your Relationship to YOU first, and then we can move towards those external relationships (To be sure, it's always both, but your inner world is the one you can have direct impact and control over).

Health Coaching works on being able to work on all the components that make up health, from the Mindsets you have about being healthy, to the granular details of how much you should be eating, to your individual beliefs and stories that have been standing in your way and how to change them, while having less internal strife and battles.

Knowing How habits form, how to Build those you want to create, and more importantly, how to Break the Habits that are no longer serving you, is essential for you to take control over your life.

I've been helping people for over 15+ years with this type of coaching and it's one I'm supremely confident I can help you to change.

How does one build confidence?

Confidence comes down to 5 Key Elements. If any of these elements are missing your Confidence will be lacking.
1. Courage. You need courage to start down a different path. If you don't have this, nothing else matters.
2. Knowledge of why you're doing or NOT doing the things you want.
3. Trust within your Self. Are you doing what you say you'll be doing? And then finally...
4. Competence. People tend to only focus on competence, but it's the last aspect. If you don't have Courage, Knowledge and Trust within yourself, then all the competence in the world is just going to make you feel like a deeper fraud.
5. Discipline to continue to live with Courage, Knowledge, Trust, and to continue to build competency.

Therefore, building Self-Confidence requires all of these elements and the Relationship you have with YOU, is the most important relationship you will ever have in your life.

This type of coaching allows you to not be at war with yourself, but instead to have the Courage to gain the Knowledge of dealing with those 'weak parts' of ourselves and building them up, so they feel safe and secure. Not with crazy discipline (although, still definitely needed), but instead with increased understanding and acceptance of what you can and can not control. You control what you can, and in doing so, focus your time and energy on those things, helping you to build Confidence in yourself that can last.
