We needed to rent a screen for a sudden family event and I was a little worried I wouldn't find anything in a matter of a few days. I noticed they will communicate via text and that was AWESOME to me. Somehow it's hard for me to find time to sit down and make a phone call but a text is so easy to just write and send. I communicated with Jaron via text about a projector and screen. In the end I just rented the screen from them (a family member was able to get a projector from work). Jaron was very responsive and clear, sending me a quote via email. I was able to agree and pay the rate via online. I asked to send my brother to pick up/drop off and Jaron was happy to accommodate that. Only reason I took away one star was that Jaron changed the pick up time (on the day of) which thankfully worked but may not have if our event was any earlier. JBQAV was there to help us launch the first in a series of community events that showcase local photographers. We had five different people projecting their photos on a screen and also speaking and interacting with the audience. So the quality of the sound was just as important as the images. JBQAV is the best. Cool little shop right underneath a band rehearsal space. They even allow dogs. Ha! Their prices are hella cheap and they have all kinds of gear. Â Perfect when I've got a gig in Santa Cruz and I forgot to bring extra strings (it happens a lot). Need an extra mic or micstand? These guys have it. Not to mention, the staff is nice and actually want to help you find what you need. Nobody with an attitude like at Guitar Center. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
I’d say don’t dwell on a song for too long and switch it up all the time so people don’t get bored.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I’m upbeat! I am also a perfectionist and will make any rental or setup aesthetically pleasing.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I’ve forced myself to get vaccinated and still wear PPE. I don’t hire anybody who is not fully vaccinated.
