I stopped by here this past Wednesday with my wife for lunch. We had noticed Jaws Mexican Grill the day before whenever we ate at Maui Fish and Chips. It is located in a strip mall right across from part of Kamaole Beach Park I. There's not too much to say about the shop; there is room to order your food inside and a menu on the wall. If you want to eat there, they also have some shaded picnic tables right outside of the restaurant. Whenever we arrived on the day we were promptly greeted by the lady at the cash register. After a little chit chat, she mentioned that they had a special today and it was sopes. My wife ended up going with that and chose pork as her meat while I went with pork Chile verde wet burrito. A short wait later and we had our food and were headed over to the beach park to eat. My burrito ended up coming with tortilla chips and then the sauce on the side so that I could pour it over when ready. Whenever I did pour it over the burrito, it was warm which was nice. The burrito itself was filled to the brim and was quite tasty, especially the pork and green sauce. The tortilla chips also had a good amount of salt on them which was nice I enjoyed dipping them into the Chile verde sauce. By the time I had joined the clean plate club I was both happy and full. My wife enjoyed her sopes especially the juicy pork on them.The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. We stopped by this place because the fish and chips place was closed. The very friendly counter person suggested the birria tacos and sopes. We decided to get both. Wow! It was sooo good. The shredded beef was very flavorful and tender. The broth also was delicious, I drank every drop because I didn't want to waste it. Definitely coming back for our mexican food fix. More...

This place is great. I really enjoyed the Upcountry burrito. It is really clean. The food is made by a real Mexican family so the flavors are authentic and delicious. I can't recommend it enough.

Solid Mexican near Kam III. We had a pork quesadilla and an upcountry pork burrito. The quesadilla with the salsa was yummy. The burrito was a bit spicy for my husband's preference, but that's his fault for not listening to the nice lady when she said it was spicy! So happy they finally opened, after seeing it closed for months! I had a pork chili verde wet burrito that was really yummy! It came with a side of chips and salsa. The chips were good (better than most that I've had on Maui). Salsa (verde and pink) was good and spicy. And, I've got 1/2 of my burrito for lunch tomorrow! Chicken tacos that my friend had, looked good. We both wished that they had mahi that's not blackened, as an option. Otherwise, excellent service AND good Mexican food on Maui, is very hard to find!! I'm not sure if they are still open, but pre-pandemic i was a regular customer. This location was the most authentic mexican/taqueria food I have been able to find on Maui. I really hope they come back.
