Great little spot. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. The chicken was well spiced; kofta and shawarma also had nice flavors; meat was cooked just right. Definitely try the hummus. Absolutely loved that I could get some OG dishes with tofu. Im a vegetarian of 7 years and have missed getting the classic take out dishes like sesame chicken, etc. I got the sesame tofu with white rice and added a spring roll. Everything was really great. Only complaint was that I feel like there could've been more tofu/broccoli for the amount of rice I was given. I will definitely return and try more of the tofu dishes. Yikes, what happened here? We used to love coming, but tonight's experience was pretty bad from start to finish. It looks like they've done some renovations, but now the booth seats are so hard and uncomfortable. We were the only ones in there, but somehow all the tables were dirty. My silverware was also dirty, and I had to ask for a replacement. There was also a weird video with marionettes paused on the TV that was a little creepy. Our waitress wasn't great and never checked on us after she brought our food, so I sat with nothing to drink for a good 15 minutes. We both got the chicken shawarma plate, and one of our two sides (hummus for me, fries for the fella) came out about 10 minutes before the rest of our meal. Since our waitress never came back to check on us, we had to go up to the counter and tell her we were ready to pay. There were also two young kids running around the kitchen screaming and crying, which seemed like it had the potential for germ issues. Meh! I was in the most rural parts of SC for a week and was eating garbage since there wasn't anything good available out there. After seeing this on the road - I was relieved. However, it was a serious disappointment. I ordered the 3-Kabab plate, Hummus, & a drink. $35.xx for everything! Yikes thats expensive on any level. I'm from Chicago so for something like this, we pay close to $$13-$20 at most and you get a ton more food in quantity. The food itself was mediocre. For as hungry as I was...I should have loved every bite. This place has potential but the food qty and the taste needs to change. They really lost a bunch of stars for having the AC blasting throughout the restaurant to the max! With a hoodie & a jacket on a decently warm day... I was freezing! We liked the Charlotte location, not so good in Rock Hill. I did carry-out. After the online ordering snafu, I was hoping the food would be the great food I remembered and would save the day. No, it didn't. Ordered online, after I left for pick up (5 minutes before ready) I was told they would not have one item done for 50 minutes and would I like something else. I asked to sub out a dish ($4 in their favor). They would not do it, and told me I had to change the order on the ordering program, Menufy, clearly the store does not even know how their own ordering program works, I would have had to set up and account or they would have to handle it from the store. I returned home for a half hour and went back to the store. Clearly they cooked half the food when the order came in. Half the food was ice cold, the half that took 1:10 was hot. I cant really even comment on the ice cold chicken and falafel. Wife said the beef/lamb was OK. Cold (grocery store) pita was stale in a zip lock bag. Wife asked if they even apologized when I picked up, nope. I see the same attitude elsewhere, employees that don't care and stores that have plenty of customers, so they really do not care about retention. Dropped in for lunch and was not disappointed, we were seated quickly and our server was helpful and accommodating. We ordered an appetizer of baba ghanoush and it was delicious. Well I drove all the way to Rock Hill for this food as that was the closest location to me and I heard great things about it. It may have been an off day but the service was extremely slow and the food lacked total flavor. I got the half chicken. The best thing was the little tomato salad they gave you. Great food! Don't be fooled by the casual atmosphere, this food is wonderfully authentic and very well done! I had the hummus plate and my wife had the chicken kabob plate. Highly recommend!
