About

I received a BFA in Dance, with a minor in photography, from Marymount Manhattan College in 2007, after completing an internship with renowned photographer, Eduardo Patino. As a dancer in search of a job I quickly decided that I'd rather play to my strengths of visual composition and entrepreneurial desires and pursue a dual career in dance and photography, over the many side jobs in customer service I found myself involved in.

Jaqi is THE BEST! She has taken my dance photos and headshots for years and when it came time for new ones, I knew she was the one to capture what I was going for. She also did an incredible job with my graduating seniors ready to hit the audition circuit with great shots! Thanks Jaqi! More...

I have been photographed by Jaqi twice now and both times was blown away by the images she has captured. From a dancer perspective, it is difficult to see an image of you in motion. I often times feel the image and what I was emoting physically doesn't relate, leaving me feel dissatisfied. With Jaqi, she is such a pro both as a dancer and a photographer, that she is able to sense that essence, leaving me with images that look and feel like the dancer I feel inside. What a gift. I feel so lucky to have found her and to have had the opportunity to shoot with her. She makes me feel comfortable and even coaches with technique (which in the past has been a huge stress for me!) She has a unique way of pulling out and capturing the purity of the artist and has left me with images that I will cherish for a lifetime, and have helped me on a business level as I present myself often on the web as an artist. Book with Jaqi. I know I will again. More...

My company, Bryn Cohn + Artists, has been collaborating with Jaqi consistently for the past six years. Her keen eye, remarkable ability to understand movement and imaginative vision have made her without question the best photographer we have worked with. From photoshoots to performance, her perspective and unique point of view continue to transcend what it means to capture a moment. Her photographs enable our press materials and marketing to maintain a distinct brand within the public sphere. Furthermore, Jaqi is kind, responsible and thorough in every engagement. I highly recommend her and her services to any artist, individual or company looking to take themselves to the next level! I cannot imagine where we would be without her exquisite work! More...

Capturing an organic real moment over a posed moment is what I believe makes a great photograph.
