How long have you been interested in magic?
Bitten by the magic bug at 5 years old and began performing at 10.
First paid performance at a corporate event at in 1976.
First TV appearance at 16 and full time professional 2 years later.
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
The show is about the character Jack Spareribs, a parody of Jack Sparrow.
This even sillier version happens to perform amazing tricks and stunts that keep the crew entertained. His sidekick is a talking monkey named Maynard (who might just be the real captain of this ship) and they demonstrate incredible ventriloquism or "magic with the voice".
What do you love most about your job?
This is not a job... It's a way of life. I get to travel. I get to perform for families all over. Sometimes on stage performing for thousands. Sometimes on Zoom performing for a dozen. My home is a warehouse/office/tv studio.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I chose my career at 7 years old. How else will you make a living as a magician or pirate if you don't start your own business?
