J. Render's Southern Table & Bar

We hired J. Renders for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! They were affordable, easy to work with, but most importantly the food was AMAZING! We continue to receive compliments - the portions were large and the food was tasty. Not only was the food great but the service was phenomenal. Gwyn was patient with us throughout the entire process as we made changes to sides, our attendee number, and added appetizers. Additionally, Gwyn and her team were able to work with us to add servers for water refills, kitchen cleanup, etc. When we were stressed about China rentals, she went above and beyond to help us think through this process. The service we received was second to none and on the wedding day we were able to enjoy our day, knowing they had everything under control. We couldn’t be more happy with our decision to hire J. Stopped in during restuarant week. This is our first time in Lexington as we are just passing through on our honeymoon road trip from Michigan to South Carolina. The place was packed but our bartender ( Cara) remained friendly and professional. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that if we ever pass through again we will be sure to stop in! Last night 3-1-19 we went to J. Render’s for the first time. Had a lot of friends recommend this restaurant. For starters I wouldn’t recommend going with a Big Party of People. Maybe in the warmer months are better for larger Parties. We had a Party of 5. Which I didn’t think was a large number of people. Arrived at 6:27 P.M. and it was around 7:15 P.M. when we got seated. The hostess told us that it would be a wait. Which we were ok with that. Our goal was to get there before 7:00 P.M. because of the half price appetizers and drinks but that didn’t happen. The problem I had was other people were seated before us and we had been waiting longer than them. There were several 4 top tables available and they could have just added another chair. The server was EXCELLENT but the food was cold. The Music was good as well. We go out and eat every weekend to different restaurants and try new places. Maybe we hit a bad night. Will try this place again sometime but not anytime soon. More...

Loved trying their BBQ for the first time! Recommend the sampler! 3 is plenty, with 4 being almost two meals!!! The sauces were super tangy, and the live entertainment kept me there after we paid our check!!! Keep up the good work!!

Came out for the first New Year’s Eve event and was super excited! J. Render’s did not fail to exceed my expectations, the atmosphere was so welcoming it felt like one huge extended family getting together to celebrate, food was superb! Prime rib was melt in your mouth perfect and the desserts were a perfect touch to an end of a full 4 courses! Music, dancing and champagne toasts at midnight! The service was impeccable! I live in Florida, my sister lives in Lexington. We take turns flying back and forth once a month. We found this place a few months ago and absolutely love it! We have adopted the ritual of having dinner here every time one of us is flying in or out. It’s very convenient, being near the airport, also, the food is amazing. This place is awesome! Went for burger week and was expected to wait. Was told 35 minutes but was sat in 20. Our server was AHmazing. We ordered the O No you didn't burger and cheese fries and got our food in less than 15 minutes! This is the place to go! As a server myself (in the past) I was even more impressed to see the managers bussing tables and even bringing food out to tables. You guys are doing it right!
