Islamorada Weddings

We read great reviews about Pelican Cove Resort at the beginning of 2022 when we booked our honeymoon with a local travel agent. Apparently ownership changed recently and we were very disappointed in the service, or lack thereof. We stayed 10 nights and begged for our room to be cleaned/fresh sheets, this never happened. We had to beg for towels and toilet paper every few days. You can’t talk to anyone on the phone you can only text a number that may reply and may not. Our toilet was broken from the very first day but we would have to fix it ourselves because they never sent anyone. Front desk at Pelican Cove was closed so you had to check in at sister resort, Postcard Inn which was inconvenient and had unhelpful/unfriendly staff. I get that everyone is short staffed right now, but when people pay their hard earned money to stay at a resort, they expect resort service. They also charge a daily resort fee, but try to charge you more than what you signed for each day. The only good thing was the location, the view and the private beach, but it wasn’t kept up as well as it should have been. Very disappointed that we had to deal with this terrible service on our honeymoon. We would love to come back to Islamorada (this trip was our first time to the Keys) but we will never stay here again or at any of their sister resorts. More...

This place has gone way downhill in just one year. Apparently a change in management company is to blame and lack of being able to get/keep employees. It’s really too bad. It’s a beautiful spot and inadequately run. Shame on you charging what you do for nightly rates and providing crappy supplies and service. Looks like it’s time for us to find a new place in paradise. Everything was amazing except for, I believe we were overcharged at the Tiki Bar. They billed the drinks to our room. For 1 bud light and 1 horrible strawberry daiquiri, and charged me $32. That was way over priced or she added a really good tip for herself! More...

Paradise! Can’t wait to return. Loved the private beach and the swim up bar. The ocean view balcony was beautiful! Very close to restaurants, activities, and shopping. We also went to the nearby Publix a few times also. Great location! More...

Understaffed, but the staff is great. Check in was smooth and easy. Yenel in the front office did a fabulous job of arranging our shuttle to dinner last night. Our shuttle driver was Nick, and he was fabulous also. He picked us up on time; took us to our destination; and came back for us when scheduled. When Nick came back to pick us up, it was dark and his van was all lit up with the disco lights inside and had great music. It made the return trip entertaining and lots of fun. Nick created a festive atmosphere. We’ve had breakfast the last two mornings at the Ciao Hound, both with excellent service. Yesterday’s waitress, and Anton, this morning’s waiter, were both very good and flexible with our group. They are hard-working people here and very helpful and accommodating. More...

spent the first part of our honeymoon in Key West. pelican cove is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. everyone is very helpful and friendly. when we requested more shampoos and coffee it was immediately brought to us. they even had cute wristbands for us that said bride and groom. we love this place! beds are so comfortable and room is designed adequately. You can actually watch TV from the couch or the bed. You don't get that in most hotels. We will definitely be back!! More...
