I am pretty particular about wanting my house to look a certain way. About 20 years ago a friend of mine introduced me to changing the look of a house by adding color to the walls.
I was skeptical. She was going to paint her white walls a cool rich taupe color. When it was done, her home instantly felt warmer and more inviting and I was hooked. She and I loved decorating and worked together to pick paint colors for our projects, but it was always more difficult than we expected. Each project seemed to get more daunting, constantly going back and forth to the paint store for sample after sample in search of the perfect color. Picking new colors over the old colors was even harder than before. I would have paint swatches everywhere and it became overwhelming.
I ran into Vanessa about 3 years ago while in search of the perfect color for the exterior of my house. I spoke with her at the paint store and was impressed but did not hire her; instead, I continued my 20-year-old process of buying swatch after swatch. I ended up picking a color that I was never in love with. A year later, I was ready to repaint the interior of my house and I just didn’t know if I was up for the challenge, so I decided to give Vanessa a call. I had doubts, but I thought she might at least get me on the right track more quickly than doing it all by myself. She came over and started picking colors and describing why they would work with the woodwork in my home and how they would enhance the look of my existing furnishings. I thought, “how the heck can she do this?” The colors looked wonderful. I was convinced they were right and was almost tempted to not even buy color samples. But after 20 years of relying on swatches, I thought foregoing that process would be a mistake. I went out and got my color samples, put them on the walls, and they all looked perfect!
I can’t tell you how much time, energy, and frustration she saved me, and the results were amazing. I then used her to pick the interior and exterior colors of a rental home we were renovating and selling. I didn’t even buy sample colors, I just had the painters paint everything and it looked great! Hiring Vanessa is a small investment that will save you time, energy, money, and frustration. Vanessa is fantastic! Today she helped me create a great color scheme throughout my entire home (2500 sq ft).
I especially appreciated how quickly Vanessa found colors to compliment my cream trim.
When we moved in I had no idea how difficult it would be to work with! It was no problem for Vanessa however!

I hired Vanessa after she helped choose the exterior colors for our new home. She was able to accommodate my narrow timeline and meet me within a few days after my phone call. I needed help choosing all of the interior colors for my new home and she knew exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be more thrilled with the colors. Every time I walk into a room I smile. Vanessa was extremely professional and personable. I followed up with a question phone call a couple of days later asking for advice on how to make our powder room "special". I am so grateful we hired Vanessa to help with selecting interior colors for our new home! In a single morning, we were able to select colors that work well together and meet the taste of both myself, and my husband (he likes darks, I like lights!

After our first meeting I was more than clear that Kristen not only listened to me but she picked up on things that I didn't even know that I said. Our livingroom turned out so amazing, hands down, our favorite room in our house. Kristen was so considerate of our budget and did a remarkable job educating me on what and where to spend more vs areas that we could really save on. She could not have been more spot on in truly getting the look/feel that I wanted.
Kristen in a joy to work with! She is so upbeat, friendly and adorable. She pushed me a little bit to think outside of my style box, and I am so thankful that she did. She suggested several things (rug, side table, accessories) that I would never have picked out myself, but that I now absolutely love, and are just perfect for the room. She really has a gift for decorating and creating a space that you will love. Every time I walk into my living room now, I smile, because I love it so much!
I really cannot recommend Kristen highly enough! If you are thinking about having someone help you with interior decorating, you should definitely choose Kristen! I am so excited to work with her on a few other rooms in my house.
