We checked into this lovely "farm" on Sunday and stayed in the "Stable". We wanted to see Longwood Gardens during the day and then also at night with the magnificient lights for Christmas. Because the Inn is so close, we were able to come back between visits, get some hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby, and then head back to Longwood for the lights. There are plenty of delicious restaurants around but make sure you leave room for Sandy and Lance's amazing breakfast!!! They were so accomodating and friendly and I would recommend their gem highly. Lovely bed and breakfast right beside Longwood Gardens. There are several different buildings with the rooms. We were in the pond house which is a little more isolated and quiet, which we loved. The room is not huge but very comfortable: king bed and sitting area. The location was beautiful though too cold to appreciate all the cute places to sit outside, so we hope to visit in spring sometime. The hosts were so kind and interactive. The breakfast and snacks were severed in the larger nicely-decorated Hay shed building, where a coffee and snack bar was availble. The breakfast was delicious, which my husband says made the visit stand out. Great stay! More...

We selected this excellent Inn because it was the closest to Longwood Gardens. Well, it turned out to be perfect in every way. The room was spacious, clean, and updated. The owners couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable and meet all our needs. The breakfast was amazing! Lance, the chef owner had managed and cooked for his former restaurant for 30 years. That experience came shining through. More...

My wife and I planned an early December visit to Longwood Gardens with another couple from the York area. Since we live in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh, we decided that we would make the trip over three days. We have stayed at various B&Bs during our travels, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitewing. Lance and Sandy are friendly, but keep everything at a professional level. The room was incredibly clean and our breakfasts were equally amazing. Staying here is a very good choice if you plan on visiting Longwood Gardens since it's only a little over a mile away. More...

We decided to spend a night in Kennett Square late November to see the Christmas theme at Longwood Gardens and see other attractions. Ended up booking a room at the Inn at Whitewing Farm in the Fat's Wallow Room. The room itself was wonderful. Clean, secluded and quiet (especially since we had no one staying next door), and very cozy. But the thing I appreciated most was Lance and Sandy. Amazing hosts that love what they do and want to make sure their guests are as happy as possible. They accommodated us with everything we needed and the morning breakfast that Lance made was delicious. I know 100% that I will come back to this Inn whenever I am around the neighborhood. More...

My partner chose this place as a short getaway from Philadelphia and to enjoy the nearby holiday lights of Longwood Garden. Once we arrived on the property, we immediately wished we had booked for more days to stay on the serene little farm. The hosts, Sandy and Lance were very welcoming and friendly. I appreciated getting a bit of history about the land and buildings, there was a station with beverages, snacks and an adorable hot chocolate station set up for our use anytime. We stayed at the pond house and enjoyed our views of the land and pond outside. It was great to disconnect from the city and enjoy our cozy room and king-size bed. The breakfast service in the morning was so much more than we expected - table service and Lance catered to my egg allergy (which I had mentioned to him the night before and he remembered without reminder) it was very reassuring that he made sure my food needs were accommodated. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Chester Co., folks visiting Longwood Gardens, or seeking a little refuge in the country with all the comforts you would need. I really like these soft mints and the hooks in the closet. The cookies are next level and home made. What I really like though, most of all, more than anything else, is the books. The TV is small and there are at least 100 books to choose from in this room. They aren't the most amazing books. Looks like mostly light reads. I'm leafing through a Nat Geo guide to America's Public Gardens and it's healing my soul. I really value the books. More...

This inn gets a 10+ from this world traveler. Sandy and Lance are the owners and have renovated an old farm that is in the country but close to everything! Next to Longwood Gardens, and 10 minutes from The Brandywine River Museum, it's also an easy drive to Winterthur and the other DuPont mansions. I actually came to West Chester for family business and it wasn't easy to deal with, but coming "Home" to freshly baked chocolate chip cookies or banana bread and free snacks and sodas or bottled water made it all go away. Imagine being on a leisure trip! The pool is beautiful and spring-fed water. But the best part is Sandy and Lance who really care about your well-being and your comfort. The rooms look exactly like the photos. And then the folks who stay here are lovely to talk to as well. I think the Inn attracts the type of folks who are thoughtful and kind. (Many have been here several times.) I felt like I made new friends in the two days and nights I stayed there. (I was planning to stay one night but because of how much I liked it, I stayed a second night.) At times I felt like I was in France because of the landscape and lush green lawns. Now, in case you're thinking this is too good to be true, or I must be a relative, I'm not. In fact, I will tell you the Internet can be spotty so if you're on a treadmill and want to conduct a major business deal, this may not be the place for you....actually if you need to get OFF that treadmill, this IS the place for you. I can't imagine how the main lodge is in the winter. Plenty of books to read and OH, how can I forget? The breakfasts are huge and delicious. Lance is a chef who once owned a restaurant so he truly enjoys to cook. As Arnold said, I'll be baaacck. This time to enjoy all the museums, chill and see my new friends Sandy and Lance. More...

On Friday, July 19, 2019 I arrived at the property with my boyfriend (at the time) and was immediately taken back at how beautiful everything was and how incredibly nice the people were. We stayed in one of the newly renovated suites, which was clean, comfortable, and very much enjoyable for our one-night stay. We were able to get early check-in so we lounged by the pool and enjoyed a nice, relaxing, and romantic afternoon. At around 3:30ish we headed back to the room and got prepped and ready to go out to dinner in downtown West Chester (where we met), but right before dinner we headed down to the lake area because we wanted a cute picture with the gorgeous scenery in the background. The owner, Lance, came down and took our photos and captured the most magical moment on my life, my engagement. My boyfriend, who is now my fiancé, got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him... And of course I said YES! After he popped the question we were showered with congratulations, well wishes, and complimentary champagne from the lovely and kind owners at Whitewing. We couldn’t be happier with how things played out and our stay at the Farm. We will definitely without a doubt be back and will most likely make this an annual thing for our engagement anniversary. Thank you to everyone at Whitewing for making our stay and our engagement so special and amazing. I am beyond happy and couldn’t have better things to say about this place.
