Olivia is amazing! Not only is she a joy to talk to, but she also has extensive knowledge on hair care and is able to provide advice on hair maintenance following a cut. I have very thick, wavy hair and often get nervous when trying out a new hairstylist because it can be difficult to work with. I went today with my daughter for a pedicure with twins Tina & Susan, who apparently have been working here since 1997! ! and it was a real good experience. Knowing I have had countless bad experiences with nail salons in LA, I'm happy I found this one! They spent about 15/20 massaging our legs and feet which was a pleasant surprise! Curtis is the reason I keep returning. I've been cutting my own hair for years after traumatizing experiences with other hairstylists, but I would trust Curtis to do whatever he wants with my hair. Not only he has the most inviting personality, but he is so knowledgeable and not afraid to share why my ideas for extreme changes might not be ideal. He gives my hair the most amazing layers and makes it look so  light and flawless!! Oh! Niki, Neda I think she goes by both names, but I went in to get a bleach touch up and Shadow root and I came out very disappointed. I was specific with what I wanted and even showed her pictures but this is what I got. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home and had to do my own hair because she had me leave the place with wet hair. I called and talked to the front desk girl (which is the reason why I put 2 stars cause she was so kind) and she had me send pictures of my hair. Her and her colleagues were just as shocked as I was. When I went back she tried to tell me that I had to wear my hair a certain way for it to not look splotchy which blows my mind lmbo, why would I change the way I do my hair? She wouldn't accept that it looked like trash, but she redid it and even still had to do it twice because she messed up again after the first time. Thank God the third times a charm and it didn't look as bad but still wow it was rough. I don't ever leave reviews but I would hate for anyone to experience this so please, choose wisely who does your hair when you come here. More...

I really dont know where to start but Ive always had long, thick hair that was down to my waist & grew very quickly.  I went through a very difficult time in my life & my hair started coming out in chunks & it wasn't growing.   I see my daughters once a week & last year went to farahs in canoga park & was on cloud 9...she was amazing & i cant say enough positive things- the color & cut were beyond my hopes & expectations & her pricing was beyond reasonable.    The day i visit w my daughters was changed to Sunday & unfortunately her salon is closed on Sundays. i drive from the antelope alley to see my girls & its been about 8 months since my hair was done but it started growing again...,slowly but i was really happy as it was a big improvement from the previous year. b I needed a trim & color and i donr take choosing a new stylist easy so i researched online & was pleased to see a salon w such high reviews open on a sunday.  we made an appointment & was taken in by Ava (mariam).  i told her i wanted blonde highlights & a trim but wanted to cut as little as possible & try to keep as much length as possible & explained how my hair was having problems growing.   My 15 year old daughter asked for a trim & a deep condition.- [ ] My daughter was taken somewhere to do her deep she conditioning.   she was very quick to put foil in my hair.  it seemed like a very long time that passed & when i asked where she was i was told she was getting her deep conditioning done.  Ava took other clients while i waited...she seemed very overbooked & she said the other stylist called out & she was alone. her son was there helping her.   It seemed to take an eternity for her to come back to me & wash my hair.  she kept leaving & coming back without saying anything while my hair was wet on the sink.when she took me around the corner to the hair dryers , my daughter was sitting there & looked really upset. she had just left her there for TWO hours...noone checked in with her.   i only get to visit w my girls one day so we tried to keep a positive attitude & i tried being understanding since she was alone.  but after being left at the dryers & watching two other clients come in & leave i finally asked how much longer this was going to take...my uncle who is a senior citizen & a disabled veteran as well as my 12 year old daughter who didnt want to get her hair done had both been waiting & i asked how much longer this was going to take since this was the only day i had during the week w my girls.   she seemed annoyed by my inquiry....we ended up being there for a total of 4 hours.   and in all honesty if she had done a decent job, i would have just gone on w the day.   i have never been more depressed after getting my hair done.   she did such an aweful job...she butchered my hair...added hideous uneven layers & it looked like she gave me some old lady bowl cut.   i only wish i was exaggerating.  it wont even go into a ponytail.   Its worse than when my hair was falling out.    because she kept me and my daughter separated most of the time, i didn't know that she had also butchered her hair...my daughters hair is super long & was all one lenght and AVA  proceeded to layer it w the shortest layer being almost 6 inches off when all she wanted was a trim.i was in shock when she charged me $500!!   the color is fine...absolutely nothing exciting & it's on the brassy side.  it wouldn't have mattered w the mess of a cut that she left me with.   people can say its only hair but im far from a shallow person.   everyone deserves to feel confident & im just starting over in life & it would have been nice to walk out feeling good.  not only did she waste my entire day...this haircut is not fixable.  i dont even want to look in the mirror & every morning the moment i realize or see it, my heart sinks.   unless i want to spend $1000 on extensions which honestly if i could afford at the moment i would probably do but she charged me double what i had paid at farahs the previous good experience when there were 3 of us then...we got our eyebrows done, 2 of us got color & we all had manis & pedis...and AVA did a disgusting, devastating job that i regret paying her for...butchered my hair , rushed highlights & a dee pconditioner for $500?!!!  i just cant wrap my head around the positive reviews & it kind of feels weirdly intentional. i don't really know what to do at this point but i felt it was important for me to leave my experience bcuz it was far off from the perfect revews i read.   believe me i wish this were one of the positive reviews & that i wouldhave received even a mediocre job.   i couldn't be more unhappy & would recommend to anyone i know or who is reading this to stay far away from ava. totally bummed More...

So I have been wanting to go platinum blonde for some time but had a very bad experience 10yrs ago with extremely damaged hair and not getting what I wanted. Decided to make the bold choice and find a place looked around for sometime and came across Hair Concept many great reviews on Ava! I set an appointment on a Saturday and she was available on that coming Monday excellent, excited and nerves to make a drastic change. I explain to her what I wanted and she explained to me the process and she would get me to as close as platinum blonde as I wanted. Ava listened to what I wanted and was patient to say that after 8 hours Ava gave me what I wanted and healthy hair as well I walked away feeling sexy and a whole new change. Never thought anyone could get me this blonde in one day and it was accomplished! Ava is an absolute magician with color! Both my daughters have dark, fine hair. Through the years, we've tried other colorists to get highlights and they would always end up with brassy red streaks. AMAZING COLOR BY AVA! After going to the same colorist in West Hollywood for the past eight years, I recently moved to the Woodland Hills area and wanted to find someone in my local area to do my base touch-up and highlights for my blonde hair. As many women know, finding someone new can be stressful! After reading all of the great reviews here for Ava, I booked an appointment - and I'm THRILLED!!! Ava is very easy going and is a lovely person. She is an excellent listener, and we discussed the tone of the base and what I wanted as far as highlights. She is very SKILLED with color and knows exactly how to achieve the results that you are looking for, which can be tricky with blonde hair. "Ava" is truly a master of color correction and one of the most talented hair stylists I know.  It was my first time working with her and I absolutely loved it. She is very sweet and friendly and I clicked with her right away. She patiently listened to what I wanted and checked the photos I showed her in detail. Before she started, she was very honest about what I can and cannot get based on my current hair status. During the process she was telling me about each step so I know what was happening and I liked that a lot. Few hours later, my hair was exactly what I asked for. What a great feeling to get the hair you want right before Christmas holiday! As you see in the photos, her work speaks for itself and shows her mastery. I have dark brown hair but I always want to have nice platinum/silver blonde highlights. Ava spent quality time to correct my hair, to get rid of all the yellow tone and different shades and she created a nice uniform blonde color. If you are looking for a dependable hair stylist and colorist that delivers magical results and transforms your hair to its best version try "hair by Ava" I highly recommend her. I had to get a last minute hair cut so I woke up super early and called every place that opens at 9am on a Saturday. I had my hair done by Ava for the second time yesterday. Ava does the best balayage I've ever had, and I've had a lot! With other stylists I've almost always had to go back to fix something that wasn't right, but not with Ava. It came out perfect, and exactly as I wanted it, on both occasions. She's a perfectionist and she is very focused on what she's doing.  In addition to the best balayage, she also gave me a great haircut. My hair was very long and I wanted a change, but still a longer cut.  I'm so happy with the way she layered it, and without looking like I lost too much length, which was very important to me. I've been getting my hair done here, by Veesun, for a very long time. I always leave with hair that looks AMAZING!! Veesun is wonderful. Besides his great hair skills he  is a joy to converse with during the entire process. I'm usually there for approximately 3 hours for highlights, roots, haircut and blow dry, and he makes the time fly by. The salon is very clean and atmosphere is calm, even when busy. I was looking for a new hairstylist due to the last few times being awful w the current stylist I had. I was looking on Yelp and I called this salon due to the good reviews on Yelp be how close it was to me. I asked for a same day appt and got in at 4 pm w Olivia! From the reviews on Yelp I had high hopes due to her awesome reviews!! I told her I wanted a haircut and toner due to some damage my previous hairstylist did. She said no problem recommending me to get some layers and an ashy toner. It was perfect! She was so gentle and explained every step of the process. She is so easy to talk to and listens to you. Curtis is absolutely incredible! Not only is he immensely talented and super personable but he takes such absolute care of his clients. He came highly recommended by my sister and for great reason, I'll never go anywhere else again (and neither will my family)! I had a great deal of reluctance because I had never had short hair before but wanted to take some control before I start chemo and Curtis could not have been sweeter and more encouraging. He made the process comforting and not a tear was shed! He gave me such great recommendations and knew exactly what would work with my facial structure. This is for Neda and Danielle:Neda is the best colorist and hair designer ever.  I only trust her with my hair color and she cuts my hair so well too. She makes me always very happy and much more self confident. It is a little pricey BUT it is worth all of it. She is easy to reach and very responsive. I've been here for four occasions. My first time was for a haircut. I got Curtis and I forever got Curtis because he's so talented. When he cut my hair I knew it was gonna come out great because he did it dry...I got to see my hair results instantly instead of with someone wets your hair, you go home and then you're disappointed. So we also talked about highlights and did it :) I've been loving my hair ever since, I recently got a re-touched up by Curtis...he is so fast with color and cut! He color corrected my hair the 1st time...it's been through a lot due to my own doing but I recently did a Brazilian blowout with Curtis and my hair feels unreal. I've had frizzy hair since I was 10 years old this is absolutely amazing. They have a whole separate room for Brazilian blowout's and its very ventilating. I thought that was very cool. ASK FOR JULIE! So I was growing my hair out for 5 years and got to a point where I was ready to say goodbye and try something new. BUT I wasn't ready for just anybody to cut it all off, b/c what if they F***K it up! RIGHT!? So I called around and I did my research and I remembered coming here before and they did a great job, but i didn't want to pay they extra fee. LET ME TELL YOU, QUALITY beats out these dime a dozen hair salons every time! Ok so this is where Julie comes in. I'm black, no surprise, so i needed someone who can cut my hair and understands, the growth and texture of it and I wanted to color it for the first time in my life. They said, "Julie will take care of you," I was like.... uh ok... So i reached out to Julie and sent her a picture of the hair color I wanted to dye it. She was SUPER EASY TO WORK WITH, ENTHUSIASTIC,  AND A COLOR MASTER! Here's the kicker though, she went out and BOUGHT MATERIAL for my hair cut on her own time to make sure she does it right! like WTF! THAT'S AMAZING! and UNBELIEVABLY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
