A local treasure. Super fresh Indonesian food. I love the Rendang. The beef or chicken sate. Spring rolls are kind of like a rice wrapped burrito salad. .. light and delicious. Not sure what to order? Go for the RIJSTAFFEL and sample a little bit of the key dishes. They say for 2, but we've been fine for up to 4 light eaters. Carry out or dine in. Indo is simply great! My wife and I went there the day before we went to Bali, Indonesia so we could at least have an idea of what the food was like. It was simply great! I had a nasi goreng which is an Indonesian staple and she had a tofu appetizer which was delicious. Fast forward a few months until this past August and I was presenting a travel program on Bali at the Clarkston Independence District Library and was wondering if I could use Indo for a small cater / take-away for the program. I got in touch with Nicholas there the day before by email and he was a huge help and super awesome to work with! The people at the travel program spoke VERY highly of the food and said they'd go visit the restaurant. We've been back a few times and it is always delicious. This would be the first place I would recommend to anyone from out of town to try. Not since I left the west coast have I had such fantastic soup. I used to eat pho every weekend out west, but all the pho I've tried in Michigan has been subpar to downright awful. However, the Sup Sayur at Indo is absolutely divine! The potato fritters with amazingly delicious dipping sauce, garlic tofu dish, spring rolls, and papaya salad were also incredible. There's so much more I'm looking forward to trying. If you're a vegan or vegetarian, this place is a dream come true. I can honestly say this is now one of my new favorite places to eat take-out. The people running the restaurant were also wonderful. Tip: They do make everything from scratch, so be patient and call ahead of time if you're getting it to go. Regardless, the wait is beyond worth it! More...

I went to Indo with a friend for lunch today and found the food very fresh and flavorful. The service was wonderful. I had the BALADO UDANG - JAPANESE GARLIC SHRIMP. My friend had the BIHUN - VERMICELLI NOODLES. We shared the RUJAK - MANGO PAPAYA SALAD with shrimp. The salad we shared was so good that I ordered a second one to take home. Sorry about the caps!
