The positive reinforcement approach to obedience , CGC classes, K9 nosework and trick classes is the professional way to train. The other trainers are young smart and well versed in all types of dog training. Since not all dogs are the same the trainers are able to adapt the training to suit the behavior of different dogs. We have been training weekly with Veronica Selco for 2 1/2 years! We have two older dogs; and one who is very reactive to other dogs, so it was a blessing to find Impetus and great Nosework Classes that allow our pups to have fun, be stimulated, challenged, and receive nothing but positive feedback! In addition, we turned to Veronica with a rescue dog we were fostering who had behavioral issues. She worked hand-in-hand with us to evaluate her needs and begin a positive training program that resulted in her finding her perfect home. I absolutely love Veronica and her team of trainers; Kylie and Vivian. They are all highly skilled and practice no force training, which is great. Positive reinforcement is the way to go. They offer a wide variety of classes and also specialize in nosework. Veronica hosts trials and people come from all different states to compete. If you are looking to train your dog and let them have FUN doing so, imPETus training is the way to go. I highly recommend Veronica and her team. We took our two small dogs to a five-week training session at Impetus and couldn't be happier with the results. Kylie was an amazing trainer -- incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Before training, our dogs were getting into physical fights almost weekly as our Beagle worked through some newly-developed aggression issues. After just five weeks, we noticed a dramatic decrease in his aggression, and both dogs getting along so much better. We know we've got lots more work to do with them at home but I can genuinely say this training has already improved their quality of life -- and ours! More...

We had the most fun with Vivian and the trainers at Impetus! We brought our 4 month old shiba, Rocky, for the puppy kindergarten class. The structure and leadership in the class was amazing. Kylie came and immediately made friends with Mac using the positive reinforcement clicker method; I immediately realized that there was hope for him and I was sold on this method from that moment on. What do you love most about your job?
We love teaching dog parents how to provide enrichment and guidance for their canine companions. We want to see families before behavior problems occur and start puppies in our pre-school program as early as 9 weeks old. We believe it's never too late to get started, however and offer training for newly adopted dogs, adult dogs and dogs with behavior problems
too. It is our mission to help families find and restore harmony in their homes.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We love dogs and people! We were inspired to do more and do better when we ended up fostering and adopting dogs that were challenging and needed us to take the lead.

Our business is committed to the highest standard. Our trainers are graduates of the Karen Pryor Academy and Victoria Stillwell Academy. They have completed their certification and complete hundreds of hours of continuing education annually. Additionally, our lead trainer is a mentor for the Victoria Stillwell Academy.
