IL Baretto Italian Cuisine

Tucked in a strip mall, this gem of a restaurant is not to be missed!  Everyone in our party was very happy with their dinner selection. From pizza to chicken soup to spaghetti and meatballs, linguine with clams... Everything was a solid 10 out of 10.Very friendly service. It's a small venue, and it feels like a family run restaurant.  The wine selection was very good.  Our water glasses were constantly filled, bread was refilled without question, fresh grated cheese was offered  ... and on top of that, the desserts were delicious.Definitely a home run for Italian food! Food is good. Legit italian, we were happy about it and the quality is definitely good. But service needs work. We had a reservation at 7 for 4 and we got there timely and there was no table for us and when we asked it looked like nobody knew what was going on. Granted it was Saturday but with a reservation you should have a table ready. After probably 20 minutes we were seated and we had to wait another 15 minutes to even get silverware and water.  Basically from 7 we left after 9 because it took forever for everything. Holy cow, this place is awesome. Thank you to Yelp for helping me find this place! We ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer and WoW. There were two types on the plate. On was the classic tomato and mozzarella and the other was mushroom. Both we outstanding and the flavor contrast was a very pleasant surprise.I ordered the Tortelloni Ricotta E Spinaci. Honestly when I do a Groupon I expect a slower venue either brand new or just trying to bring in more clientele, but this was neither. In the heart of Plantation  this Italian restaurant took over Legends pizza across from the Broward mall and to my suprise this place was excellent.  Not big at all maybe 8 tables or 10 at the most and a kitchen in full view of the patrons that's no bigger than some people's kitchen at home.1 chef making each meal to order, so go there expecting to be patient for some great food. Maybe 2 chefs on the weekend indont know.Chefs specials in addition to the normal menu l, no real kids menu although they do have high chairs, seems they specialize in wine also.I had the Carbonara and my wife had the Chefs special Lasagna both were very good, and add on a meatball appetizer and also a bruschetta appetizer and we really couldn't go wrong.No Mountain Dew lol but this isnt a place I'd expect it I would definitely come back here without the Groupon and it seems a lot of people agree with me from regulars to out out of towner regulars More...

One of the best restaurants in South Broward Country. Their service, food, and ambiance is small and intimate, yet their food speaks volumes about their talents. Their risotto, calamari, tuna tartare, and raviolis are divine; each bite is perfect, and their flavors are well balanced. Only thing keeping this from being a 5 star is the service. They simply aren't personable or welcoming. As if they're just going through the motions. The atmosphere is very nice.intimate in size, clean, simple. The food was great. Had the burrata and it tasted fresh. The prosciutto was a bit thick on some slices. But still good. Fact is the burrata is really the star of the dish anyway. My wife had the bow tie pasta with shrimp. Tastes were on point. Tasted the shrimp flavor in the marinara which was a nice touch. I had the tortellini stuffed with fresh homemade ricotta and spinach in a walnut porcini truffle cream sauce. Rich and delightful. Didn't get to try any desserts because like I said earlier, the service wasn't good. Would have gotten dessert had we been presented with options. I would recommend this seemingly hidden gem to anyone I know. Looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu. LOVED this little Italian spot! We were looking for a new spot for dinner and came across Il Baretto on Yelp. We made reservations and came for dinner. This is a little spot located in Plantation inside of a shopping plaza. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. The waiter came by told us the specials and gave us recommendations. We ordered the Carpaccio Di Filetto as our appetizer and our friends ordered the caprese pizza to start. The carpaccio came with baby arugula, shaved parmesan, and fresh mushrooms. The pizza came out with it and it was big! The pizza was perfectly crispy and full of toppings. There we definitely slices to pack and take home. When it came to entrees the waiter recommended the lasagna so one of us ordered that, the spaghetti carbonara, and the linguini with clams. The lasagna was a hit. My friend said it was delicious and ate the whole thing. The carbonara I'd say is one of the best I've ever had. It was perfectly creamy and full of flavor (dying to return to have this again). My boyfriend also really enjoyed the linguini with clams as well and raved out it. We did not have room for dessert, but they did bring us some chocolate to try and to satisfy the sweet tooth a bit. Overall, we had a great experience here and we will be returning. Usually, the little family owned places are the best, and this restaurant shows just that. Absolutely amazing. Everything was delicious. Service was great too! My mom & I shared the buratta app and the octopus app. The buratta was fresh, soft and tasty. The octopus was sliced paper thin and tender. The octopus was drizzled with a little olive oil and topped with arugula and capers. It was perfect. Then we shared the baretto salad (I think that was the name of it) that too was delicious! Then I had the fruitti de mar pasta and it was so good. The pasta was aldente and the sauce was perfectly spicy and the seafood was fresh. We managed to stuff our faces with dessert and we had the creme brûlée which was also great! Nothing is perfect, but Il Baretto comes pretty close! My coworkers and I don't usually go out for Italian food, but we decided to try Il Baretto because we pass it all the time. You'd never know that this restaurant is wedged in the shopping center where kickboxing and Mustard Seed Bistro are! The decor of Il Baretto is so nice! Really well thought out and the place smells overwhelmingly of lavender and herbs. It feels really authentic and fancy. Along with the wine bottles everywhere and little greenery, it's the perfect set up! Their lunch menu is unbeatable for Italian food! I love branzino fish and it's on the menu (my coworker gotnit so I know the portion size is more than enough) for only about $12. They've got a great selection of salads, paninis, and entrees (including pasta) on their lunch menu. I can only imagine what their dinner menu looks like. The complimentary oil and garlic bread is so tasty. They cut the flatbread into strips and I could truly eat the whole basket. I ordered penne alla bascioela (probably messed up the spelling). It's a red sauce penne pasta with olives, mushrooms, and topped with Parmesan cheese. Absolutely delicious and it was the perfect portion. My whole bill including tip was about $12 - perfect! The service was very attentive here. Our waitress really didn't miss a beat. It's a small restaurant so it's easy for staff to overlook the establishment and it works in their favor. Well I have to say that the food is great,the atmosphere is very quiet, very cozy restaurant, unfortunately we went there for 3rd time and we had a female server that was serving  the food with her hair all over the place,non in a ponytail, I was afraid that I was going to end up eating hair instead spaghetti, lol,and also she was kindof rude it didn't seem that she was happy to be there,any ways other than that is a great place to have a nice dinner  hopefully next time you will earn  my 5 stars

Every Monday Il Baretto features all Pizzas for $8.99, a steal, I know! While I have a few favorites on the menu, (Testarda & Quattro Formaggi), today I had something that's not on the menu. My friend Marc asked Chef Freddie to make something different (not on the menu) and he created this delishness! This pizza has a cream based sauce, shrimp, zucchini, a little olive oli, and onion, it is called The "Marc" pizza! LOL  Absolutely amazing, thank you so much to my friends at IL Bareto. I was in the mood for authentic Italian food and stumbled upon this small excellent restaurant on yelp and decided on it based on the reviews. Service was on point and the food was delightful. Complimentary focaccia bread was fresh and warm. I had to stop myself from eating so much of it so I could save room for my order. For an appetizer I enjoyed the calamari. It wasn't the best I've had but it was definitely cooked just right. My entree was the penne alla vodka and I requested chicken and shrimp. Cooked perfectly. Complimentary focaccia bread was yummy & they refilled whenever we asked (but would prefer to have been asked by sever). Open kitchen always a nice touch, although the strip mall location leaves a sidewalk business view from the large windows. Only beer & wine, not a full bar. Served soda in the can...never as stood as fountain drinks!  Chicken soup was to die for. Incredible flavor!  Eggplant Parm was good, but not the best. I prefer a thin, crispy eggplant. (Read about the Eggplant Lasagna & would've gotten that except it is a BEEF lasagna.  Very disappointing. Just had Mother's Day lunch here..everything was delicious! Loved the complimentary warm, crispy focaccia! Started with the burrata, it was a hit, everyone loved it! The linguini frutti di mare was amazing, with homemade linguini, and lots of seafood! My husband had a chicken special looked like chicken rolatini filled with ricotta and spinach that was served with creamy cheesy mashed potatoes, he really enjoyed it! Found this hidden Quaint Italian / Argentinian restaurant after taking the kids to Off The Wall trampoline in Davie.  The food is made to order, while waiting, I had me a glass of Malbec.  The bread they bring out is amazing.  The decor is super cute, kind of farmhouses.  I ordered the mushroom risotto with a side of chicken breast, my hubby the eggplant lasagna, the kiddos, the usual, Spaghetti with marinara  and penne with Alfredo.  Our dishes were pretty good.  My daughters Alfredo was a little bland, other than that everything was delicious. This place  was a pleasant surprise. I went for the Yelp 4.5 stars because the one I was hoping to go for lunch was closed. I had the  chicken parm and pasta. Best chicken parm I ever had. My wife had the meats lover sandwich with in house made bread and loaded with meats, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.  The banana cream brulee lacked presentation but the custard was yummy. If you're looking for an authentic, delicious Italian meal then look no further than Barretto! I absolutely love this restaurant and make sure to stop by every time I visit home. I was meeting two friends for dinner and we were striking out in getting a table tonight, yes, Wednesday. We had gone to three places before we called Il Baretto and they said that they had a table so we headed over.  We were very close by and the table had a reserved sign on it for us, which was very kind.  They had a few open tables it is a very small restaurant in a strip plaza. The server offered us wine and other beverages and two of the three of us had salad.  I tasted the both of them.  One was arugula with yellow tomatoes and shaved Parmesan.  The other was Caesar with shaved Parmesan.  This was good Reggiano parmigiana.  The salads were cold and crisp and fresh.  They also served some bread that reminded me of naan but was very crispy and had some spices on it, one being oregano.  The bread was very good.  I tried the risotto with shrimp and I had the penne alla vodka with shrimp.  The food was all very good and the pasta was cooked really perfectly. The vodka sauce was very good and had an unexpected smoky flavor.  It was a very thick sauce and not really what I thought to expect. It didn't taste like vodka sauce at all, but I liked it.  The risotto was very good but a little bland and the shrimp were very fresh.  Our server promptly refilled our glasses, but I had to ask for more bread, salt, pepper and parmigiana.  The server didn't anticipate us needing those things, I guess.  The service was good, but these missing items shouldnt really have been overlooked.  Would I eat here again, of course.  I'd like to try the eggplant because that was my first choice tonight but it was "86".  Honorable mention: I don't know what kind of air freshener they use, but it's very strong and smelled really good. Impromptu stop for date night. He loves Italian food, so naturally I relied on Yelp for a new recommendation. The place is small (very small) but it's nice inside. The decor is nice; it's clean and well kept. The kitchen is an open concept, so you can literally watch as your food is being made, which was pretty cool. We had a glass of their merlot and it was very good! Shared an appetizer of balsamic tomatoes, arugula and fresh mozzarella. It was very good. We loved the flavors. (We recently had this in New York on vacation at a very nice and well known Italian restaurant and this dish here, gave us the same feels as the one in NY). We were impressed. For dinner we had fettuccini with a bolognese cream sauce. It was SOOOOO good! Very flavorful. Our waiter was very attentive. They serve a basket of bread for each table, which came in handy with our dinner. We opted out of dessert as we had plans that we needed to make and the waiter was so kind to bring us a plate of their in-house made fudge, which was yummy.
