Albert came highly recommended from a friend of mine who had seen him. I contacted Albert to arrange an appointment for my high school aged son who needs help with his running technique for track/ x country. Albert was very quick to respond to my email and very friendly. I went to the appointment with my son and was extremely impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and patience with my son. At the end of the hour long session my son was already showing marked improvement in his running technique and posture. He cannot wait to put into practice what he learned today. Thank you Albert! I now see why my friend was so impressed with Albert, I now too highly recommend him! More...

I've been a part of the IMA for 4 months, now. I find that this isn't just a place I go to work out, it's where I go to dig deeper. I'm inspired by every person I've met there. It doesn't matter that we're all at different levels of fitness...Coach Albert meets you where you're at and pushes you to be your best.I've become aware of so many different opportunities to be active...crossfit competitions and WOD, Spartan Race training, running clubs and training, rucking...yes, I said rucking. Check it out!The IMA is a great source of encouragement and motivation, as well, which extends beyond just the workouts. Call Albert and schedule a free workout! You'll be glad you did! More...

I was training for my first marathon when I scheduled a running form appointment with Albert. I have been running for many years, but recently suffered a very painful hip injury. So I decided to seek Albert's help after receiving a referral from a sports massage therapist. Albert studied my form and broke it down for me, showing me exactly what I was doing wrong and what I could do to correct it. I took his input and almost immediately started seeing results. The best part is that I successfully completed my marathon well within my goal pace. I have no doubt that Albert's input helped minimize my pain so that I could push through. And the best part is that Albert followed up with me via email several times after our initial consultation to make sure I was okay. He definitely went way above and beyond what I expected and I am very thankful! More...

In short, Albert Lu knows what it takes to be an efficient and optimal runner. I don’t like running, but I had to prepare for a physical exam during my application process for law enforcement. The test included a variety of physical tests and Albert coached me for the 75 yard sprint/obstacle course and a 1.5 mile run that had to be under 12:30 minutes. A little background. I practiced Crossfit for 3 years where I met Albert. I then moved and for the next three years I’ve been on/off weight lifting and probably 1% of actual running outdoors. If I don’t have to run I don’t but I’ll do my very best when I do have to run. 4 weeks out from my test date and Albert provided me with a weekly schedule that contained when to run, how far, rest times and trial runs. My first timed trial was 13:45, ok but not great. I was suffering from sore calves and Albert advised me that I was landing too much on my forefoot and to start kissing my heels. What a difference that made, sore calves stopped and my quads were getting a bigger pump after my running exercises during the week. Mind you, in preparing for a 1.5 mile run he had me doing interval sprints and not actually running non-stop for 1.5 miles. My kind of running really short and quick. At the end of week 2 I was running the 1.5 miles in 13 minutes. What a huge improvement!Albert kept me on the same plan and frequently tuned in to see how my legs were doing. My final timed trial before my physical exam was 11:42, mostly sprints and a walking rest. I was very confident about passing my test with flying colors. Day of the exam, the sprint was the first thing on the list and the 1.5 mile run was last. I flew threw the sprints and performed the rest of the tests without any issues. The 1.5 mile run was outdoors, on a dirt track and the temp was about 92F. I had been training indoors on a treadmill but whatever. My final time was 12:10!!!! I couldn’t be happier with that. Thanks Al for all your help and always being available to answers and provide sound thoughtful advice. Highly recommended! More...
