We had our ceremony and reception at the Griffith House. The venue is beautiful; simple yet elegant. This venue fit us like a glove plus it had everything we were looking for. We were able to book our own caterer, bring our own alcohol plus they have a huge parking lot for guests. The tables, chairs and decorations were beautifully placed and moved when the reception came along. We loved working with Diana! She created our wedding exactly as I envisioned it. It's one thing to have an idea, it's a much greater undertaking to make it reality and that's exactly what Diana and her team did. She was really easy to work with and very communicative. Diana took the wedding worries away through answering our questions regardless of the time of day and accommodating our requests. We could not have pulled our wedding off without Diana.  After traveling all around Southern California looking for a venue, we hired Diana and she immediately hooked us up with the perfect spot.  We were nervous about having an outdoor wedding in September, but Diana convinced us not to worry and she was right.  Diana turned out to be right about a lot of things.  She was extremely helpful putting together the perfect event for us, especially considering we didn't want to go too overboard with anything but still wanted to create a fun event for our friends and family.  The best parts about Diana were that she was extremely responsive to our hundreds of texts/e-mails, and she was particularly chill from start to finish, which alleviated much of our stress and assured us that we were in good hands. She was also a fantastic day-of coordinator, keeping everything running smoothly at the wedding itself, keeping the mood light even as various minor things went awry (through no fault of hers!). Working with Diana was such a pleasure! We met while I was looking at the Griffith House as a potential venue for my wedding but I had my heart set on a waterfront location. Once she let me know that I could still hire her as a day of coordinator no matter the venue, it was on! Though I opted for the day of coordinator package, Diana was available for emails and guidance throughout the entire process. Planning a wedding is no easy task and Diana was there to ease my fears and answer all my ridiculous questions. My biggest fear was the day not flowing well and thanks to Diana that was not an issue. She took the planning I had started and weaved all the pieces together for a smooth and beautiful day. My husband and I remained stress-free knowing that Diana had it all figured out! Superior service!!! I used Hutchinson weddings for my wedding in September and was AMAZED with how perfectly everything was put together. Diana was quick to answer all questions I had leading up to the wedding, most of the time I would get same day responses. The day before the wedding I told her every little detail of how I wanted the set up to be and not one of those details was left out!! I don't know where to begin. I cant say enough great things about Diana, our coordinator. She's friendly, answered all my questions via email/text in a heartbeat no matter how silly they may have been. She always had great ideas/suggestions to help my wedding look amazing. She arrived on time day of and quickly got to work. Diana greeted us with champagne after the ceremony, 2 plates of food immediately following the first dance, and made sure all the flowers and decor were in order. Our wedding was 150 people, and we did an indoor ceremony in sanctuary with an outdoor reception, in the middle of May at the Griffith House. Working with Diana prior to the wedding was a breeze. Diana is so nice, so laid back, and was amazing in communicating with us, the vendors, and the guests on site, both before the wedding and on the day of. She was always very calm and addressed all of our questions promptly. She is very experienced with wedding coordination, and also oversees weddings at other venues in Southern California as well, which you can tell from her variety of helpful suggestions for various details that we wouldn't have thought of. As a bride, this was so crucial to me to be able to trust the coordinator, since there's already so many other things you need to worry about! The day-of execution was flawless. Diana and her assistant Amy were very experienced and professional and constantly reassuring to make sure everyone was relaxed and on the same page throughout the day, and they set up the decorations even better than I could have myself!! Very rarely do I come across people as logistical and detail-oriented as me, haha. If I drove her crazy with my OCDness, Diana never showed it one bit. Our ceremony decorations, reception centerpieces, table numbers, bridge decor, and miscellaneous details were all meticulously taken care of and set up exactly according to our detailed (and probably very annoying) specifications! Diana and Amy also helped us to improvise when we ran into technical difficulties. Diana was calm but firm in helping us wing it, which was extremely professional and so helpful.Cleaning up everything was also a breeze! We had our wedding party help out, but dismantling equipment and cleaning up venue and collecting all the decorations comes with the venue, and Diana and Amy were so helpful in making sure we had everything packed up and off site.Overall I couldn't recommend and Hutchinson Wedding's enough. My husband and I had our wedding at the Devon Estate in Bixby Knolls in April 2015 and it was amazing! Diana was amazing!! ! First things first she is super nice and very good at her job. Diana is the coordinator that helped me with anything I needed and as we all know wedding planning can be very frustrating and difficult. She is so diligently in her job to help me with anything I needed that she was doing all this while she was pregnant and her due date was one month before my wedding. I always tell everyone about how important it is to have a coordinator or day of. The day of my wedding was perfect!! The weather was sunny and not to hot, all the vendors were on time, and the setup was easy. Diana had everything under control. I knew I had nothing to worry about. She knows how special this day is to the bride and groom and handles the "hiccups" like a pro! For example we ran out of beer in our three kegs four hours into the wedding, our guest Can Drink! Diana handled it like a pro she had one of the hired bartender go to the store and get as many 30 packs that he could find. I had know idea this happened till the next day!!! We had our wedding ceremony outside on the grass in a beautiful area under a large tree. Our photos turned out to be so beautiful! They do have a church on property as well as a small chapel, but we chose to have this portion outdoors. Myra is the on-site coordinator and she is very responsive and great at answering all questions. Pastor Jim (the required officiant for the venue) is very sweet and we received alot of compliments about his style as an officiant. Great experience! More...

We had our wedding ceremony inside the larger chapel, which fit our 100+ guests comfortably and could've easily sat more. The reception we had on their garden area and it was beautiful ! My husband and I had our wedding ceremony here on 10/11/14. I just have to say.. our wedding was perfect!

First of all, when we we searching for the venue, I did a tiresome search on garden reception areas near the Long Beach area. There were many cute places, but some were way out of our price range and/or were not flexible about bringing in our own vendors (my husband and I wanted to have Korean catering at our wedding since it tastes so good!). After I looked through the Griffith House/FCCA websites, I found out that not only did this site have the lighted garden reception area that I dreamed of, but it also allowed us to bring in our own caterers and it was just steps away from a chapel site that could fit our large guestlist of 300 (my husband wanted to get married inside a church). Once we previewed the site in person, we knew this place was the one!

The chapel is short but wide. We liked how the chapel was shaped because it allowed the whole group to have a good view of us (and I liked how I didn't have to walk a nerve-wracking mile down the aisle!). Some decor was provided, but not much was needed other than some flowers. We would recommend however, that they improve on their sound tech.

The reception area was absolutely GORGEOUS! We had our cocktail hour while the sun was still up, so all our guests were able to see the luscious greenery and the kids were able to run around and play. Once the reception started, the sun started to set, which created such a beautiful view. And when the sun actually set, the lights went on and it was stunning. We had so many friends and family say how pretty our venue was. I could have not agreed more. We got married 2 weeks ago at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach, CA and we hired Diana as our day of coordinator. She was such a pleasure to work with throughout the 10 months of planning! Diana has such a great personaility and she is very easygoing. Anytime I had a question I would send her a text or an email and I would receive a response within a couple of hours. Diana coordinated our daughter's wedding on Saturday at the Devon Estate in Long Beach.  The venue was just perfect.  It allowed for a separate garden setting for the ceremony, a huge balcony with a view of the golf course for the cocktail hour, a wide green lawn for the head and guest tables, and a double driveway for the dance floor and food trucks! !Besides providing choices of great venues like the Devon Estate, Diana is the complete wedding planner.  She was always available before the wedding via email or phone to consult with about vendor choices, timelines, insurance, etc.  During the wedding weekend she coordinated the rentals, deliveries, and rehearsal.  She made the venue available early on the wedding day for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready for the big day.  While the bride and groom and families brought the decorations and their dreams of what everything should look like, Diana and staff helped us realize those dreams.  Boxes of table runners, votives, menus and the like became beautiful guest tables, a candy bar, and a vintage soda stand. My husband and I could not be more thankful or impressed with Diana and her team.  We were married at the Devon Estate in Long Beach, and planned most of our wedding from overseas.  Diana was so prompt in replying to every little question we had, and happy to provide suggestions and advice when we needed it.  Best of all, she was so calm and reassuring, she allowed us to relax and feel confident in our choices. I cannot stress enough how important that quality is for a bride and groom in the midst of wedding crunch time.   The Hutchinson Weddings team was so organized ahead of time, but were also able to problem solve on the fly, for example: when we were running low on beer, her team made a quick booze run, and set everything right without a single guest the wiser. We also DIY'ed a number of details for our wedding, so our whole crazy family was at the venue from Friday through Sunday, putting up lights, crafting bouquets, etc..  Diana and the owner of the house could not have been more accommodating to all of us. Diana is AMAZING!!!  She is pretty much the Zen master of Weddings. My now husband and I got married a month ago at Rose Garden Estates in Yorba Linda, and Diana just made everything so freakin easy from the get go. She is incredibly organized (super helpful for someone like me who is not), was always very clear about pricing and ridiculously prompt in her responses!  Not only this but she is just an absolute sweetheart and extremely professional.  My photographer AND my caterer BOTH commented to me a couple weeks after the wedding about how impressed they were with her and that because of Diana, this wedding was the easiest they had ever done.  She even dealt with my DJ who was being dramatic for I don't know what reason! I was delighted to find Hutchinson Weddings to coordinate my wedding at Harborside, Newport Beach, CA. I live in Utah, so planning from a few states away was very daunting! Diana was always quick to respond and listen to exactly what I wanted. She gave several vendor suggestions and set up all of the meetings we needed when we were in town to visit and make wedding plans.

I cannot say enough great things about working with Diana and planning my recent wedding. After meeting with Diana for the first time I knew we had found the perfect person to help us plan our dream wedding. The Ahlswede House is a precious gem in the heights of Long Beach. EVERY guest at our reception (275 people) raved about the gorgeous venue. After seeing the location, you will see all the possibilities. The large yards allow you to entertain with a cocktail hour, catered dinner, dance party, and hold your ceremony all at the same location. The amazing views (day or night) will leave your photographer with a scenic playground. Parking is also made very easy for your guests. Most of the last minute problems that would usually ruin this special day were promtly taken care, which was a huge relief to my sister and the entire wadding party and family. The Ahlswede House is the most amazing venue! The house looks like something out of a storybook. The attention to details and beauty of the home made for a perfect backdrop to our wedding. We got married under the giant peppertree at sunset with twinklelights and candles in old mason jars hanging from the branches. The on-site coordinator, Diana is wonderful! She is so on the ball and extremely creative. She had the most wonderful centerpiece ideas and I felt like she was really listening to me. She got to know us and treated us like old friends, which made our special day even more special. I highly recommend the Ahlswede House for any event - especially a wedding =) More...
