One of the best humans in the world and best teachers I've ever worked with. If you're looking to improve in classical guitar - or even just spice up your regular acoustic/electric playing or writing with some classical chops - this guy is where it's at. He's the premier scholar of Pepe Romero's technique, so he'll make sure to be an absolute hawk about your hand positioning and technique. He holds lessons out of his home studio in Larchmont. Not only is he an incredible player and teacher himself, he's also extremely kind, judicious, caring, respectful and attentive. I don't write reviews much but this month is a year I've been taking classical guitar lessons with James Huntley guitar studio . I've struggled with guitar  . But James makes it easy to understand his teaching skills are the best . I'm so happy that I found this school . James is an incredible guitar teacher. I'm an adult student and have been studying with him for a few months. He is attentive, encouraging, relatable, and very skilled. His individualized lessons are perfect for keeping me challenged and I always look forward to the next lesson because I'm continuously being challenged. He supplements in-studio instruction by providing technique videos for later reference too, which is incredibly helpful when working on a new piece. More...

If you want to reach your musical goals then James will get you there. He's guided me through my dream pieces. J.S. Bach Gavotte & Rondo, Lute prelude, Bouree from violin, Cello suite 1, Capricco Arabe, Recuerdos, Marieta Marzuka, Mozart's Turkish March, the list goes on and on.
