Tried this place recently while looking for some gyro meat and platters. The prices themself are very reasonable given you get a decent amount of food. You shouldn't leave hungry. We came in the evening and tried the gyro platter. The meat was really delicious. I wish it would have been just cut at that moment because it's super good then but overall, really nice flavor.Some of the sides are pretty bland, or where just cooked a bit off. Like the seasoned potatoes were somewhat hard, definitely could have used a few more minutes being cooked. And the corn has zero seasoning which was ok if you're into that, but they could have at least added a touch of salt! Everything else though was great.Look forward to trying more options! More...

We tried to use their web site to place an order and it is horrible. Also tried to phone in an order and no one ever answered. Decide to go in the restaurant and order. The staff seems like they were overwhelmed and had trouble taking simple orders. The "fresh sides" were not so fresh. The beef gyro meat was sub par. I called and placed a catering order - very easy to do and the person in the phone was very helpful. Everyone LOVED the food, even my three year old, extremely picky niece. Portion size was incredible, we were eating leftovers for days. The eggplant was so freaking tasty. Chicken and gyro with rice were both really good. The spicy hummus had a good kick to it and a different taste compared to the regular. Both were good, but the spicy one seemed to be the favorite. Probably the best Mediterranean food I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Found this place on Yelp and I'm not surprised with the number of 5 star reviews they have. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, pita bread was extremely fresh, and the hummus and other sauces were delicious. Why have I been waiting in line for so long at Chick Fil-a and Canes when this place was in the same parking lot? So happy I stumbled upon this place. I can't remember a more anxiety filled restaurant experience as this one today (March 7th)!!!! The food is great which makes this all so frustrating! The four teens working on this day ran away so many customers. People were walking in and getting frustrated and just leaving. Also how do you run out of rice with (again) four people working!? The three guys were letting the young lady do everything. They weren't able to make French fries apparently because the guys in the back didn't want to come to the front and help out. More people came in and suddenly all the help was in the back! She couldn't get waited on and nearly left. By the time my husband got his food mine was already cold. I visited Hungry Platters for the first time on February 28, 2021 and wow I was so glad I did. I was visiting from California. The food was amazing and authentic! And get this homemade rice pudding, baklava and carrot cake. The youg men who waited on me were so nice and knew so much about the food the spices etc. This restaurant is a gem and I when I go back to Texas it will be one of my first stops! I was hungry and didn't feel like cooking so I was looking for a healthy option for dinner this particular night. I remembered about Hungry Platters when they first opened and I haven't been back since then. I got the hummus platter with chicken. When I got home I realized they had put A LOT of hummus in the platter but I had no pita bread. I thought it came with it but maybe I didn't read that right so I was was eating it normally. So I'm in love with this place and it's my new not so guilty pleasure other than the fact that I'm cheap and I don't like to spend money to go out to eat much. BUT....these guys are a small local establishment on the 380 corridor which doesn't provide a lot of healthy options for food so they have become my weekly splurge now!!! I am fairly new to this type of cuisine and have just recently started eating more vegan-ish, and this has been a wonderful way to mix it up a bit! Their food is prepared fresh daily and the staff is always friendly! I cannot rave enough about this place. It's the best $10 you'll spend on a huge platter of food, and if you walk away hungry it's your own fault! BABA!!!! I have found the Ganoush!!!! I have been wanting to stop by here and I'm so glad I did-- this is amazing Mediterranean food. It's all fresh, rotated, and amazing proteins. Had dinner made for the family- falafel, beef gyros, and beef gyro platter. The side were very tasty- Turkish slaw, tomato cucumber salad, egg plant, all kinds hummous. I felt like I was back in Detroit and Dearborn, this is authentic and great tasting good food. Y'all! This is healthy!!! It's not Canes, it's not Jack I the box, mod pizza, Fuzzys, papa John's- this is local shop with great tasting food and good service. Very clean restaurant, friendly employees, sanitizer available. Tried this place for a second time tonight as I like to check a place out a few times before reviewing. Last time I got a Falafel and Chicken platter with tabbouleh, rice, and hummus. It was so amazing! I'm so impressed with the Falafels as they are moist and not dry like most places. Tonight I got the Falafel pita as I fell in love with the Falafels at my last visit. This is our favorite place along the 380 corridor! I like the falafel platter, and my husband is a gyro platter fan. The hummus and the jalapeño feta dip are delicious. The owner needs to step up. We just visited at 6:00, 2 teens having to deal with filling orders when all the food selections are gone, it wasn't busy. Poor planning. I asked for spring mix in lieu of rice, the gal went to the glass color and the lettuce what was left was mush, skip that then absolutely no eggplant which is one of the primary pairing. The grill did not look like it had been cleaned today. Service is so slow, but I was patient. Another customer behind me was ordering and they told her also no eggplant she was also surprised, I mean it's a staple. So when I left I spoke with the adult there, I explained in the past I had enjoyed there restaurant, however today was disappointing with all the options not filled and products in very poor condition. Okay dinner time 6ish on a Saturday night. I really want Mediterranean...like kabobs.....we enter Hungry Platters. 2 very busy young men behind the counter. No one else inside. We had driven 30 minutes from Mckinney to try this place..new to us. No greet...okay no problem - we're masked I can overlook that. No kabobs. okay greek salad with gyro and chicken. Husband not happy. At least 1/3 of the "side choices" were almost gone/gone. Tomato and cucumber salad with no tomatoes The sides were messy and unappetizing looking. No pita with the hummus? That's extra...Ugh.Chicken is that what that is? No flavor and looked like last nights leftovers. Then they smoosh all the choices on top of the salad and it all tasted the same. Like raw onions. I love this place. So easy to order online and pick up at the location. You go in, pick up the order, and leave 10 seconds later. No unnecessary waiting that some restaurants have or signing receipts which spread germs. Very thankful. The food is tasty and enough to feed 2 people. But I ate it all because I was hungry! I don't like to leave negative reviews but our delivery experience was very different from most of the other reviews. The falafel had an overwhelming burnt flavor. The gyro platter was smaller than expected. The pictures lead you to believe it's a full size pie type pan like you get from other places. It's about 2/3 the size and mostly rice. The hummus was bland. But the absolute worst part was the tzatziki sauce. It was lemon and mint flavored. I've never had sauce like that and am not sure if that is normal or if someone messed up when making it. I'm just thankful I didn't pour it all over my meal turning it into a mojito. More...

I love the falafel and the tzazika sauce. I visited last week after not going out for awhile. I was very happy to see they were still open! A bonus for those that do not eat meat. I ordered from here one night because I had a huge craving for a gyro. Now what was strange is that when you order the gyro, the toppings I'm use too it O still moved forward. I ordered the platter and the sandwich. The food came in time but when I checked the platter, there was no Pita (weird for me) . I started dressing my gyro using the tzazika sauce and tomatoes . I was showing homes in Prosper a couple months ago and stopped by this place for a gyro and have been going back ever since. Staff is very nice and food is cooked fresh! Ordered a few things to go for my first visit here a few days ago. (Initially I was taken aback because the guy behind the counter seemed to be bothered and wasn't very friendly but he seemed to warm up so I proceeded with my order)For my entree I ordered the falafel platter basmati rice, cucumber salad, roasted potatoes and tabbouleh. They do have a selection of sauces like tzatziki, hot sauce and a white sauce. I didn't get any as my order was to go and I didn't want anything to be mushy. Also grabbed the rice pudding and baklava for dessert. My friend LOVED the rice pudding. The baklava is made with a simple syrup instead of honey which I appreciated sine I'm vegan. It had raisins which I haven't seen before but still enjoyed.My favorite thing by far was the hummus and pita. I asked for the red pepper jalapeño hummus but instead received the regular hummus. The pita bread made up for it though. It was super fresh and pillowy and had a slight sweetness. Might be the best pita I've ever had and I've been craving it ever since. You have to give this place a try! Very simple appearance, but the flavor of the food is well worth a try! You'd rather they focus on their food, right? My favorite thing is the kebab platter. You get three sides so you can try so much at a time. Plus, the jalapeño feta sauce is incredible! I usually eat kebabs with tsaziki (sp?) sauce, but not here. That's just the food.
