Very noisy. Fried chicken was cutlets not on the bone very spicy. Too much food very expensive and risotto is usually delicious it was dried out. Need more waitresses.

We met friends for lunch. There was plenty of parking behind the restaurant with easy access. The front bar had some high top tables and a nice bar. We were taken to the back room where there were some booths and tables. There were white tablecloths on all the tables which gave it an upscale feel. The menu had something for everyone. Two of us had the lobster roll which had large pieces of lobster ( not much mayonnaise like some other places). Two of us had the crab cake sandwich which was served on a brioche bun. It was one of the best I have ever had, looked like a burger, seasoned great and not a lot of breading. The Reuben was also served on a brioche bun, was delicious, and the only comment was that the meat could have been cut up a little more to make it easier to bite into. All were served with fries, though some of us exchanged them for a small side salad. The Capn’ Cruch Chicken appetizer was tasty, though I didn’t really taste the cereal in the breading. We tried a few deserts, the salted caramel cheesecake, creme brûlée, and the raspberry sorbet were all a great ending to our meal. The prices were all pretty standard for lunch. Had a nice selection of beers and the food was pretty good. Affordable. I got a Ribeye steak with jumbo shrimp for 26 bucks. That's pretty good. My date and I were at Barrique's across the street and paid 20 bucks for a tiny plate, we left there and came here. At Horace & Sylvia's the decor felt a little dated. There were 10 people so drinks were forgotten but the service got better and better. Everyone raved about the food: marinated skirt steak, paella , salmon, lobster and shrimp over zucchini. Horace and Sylvia's is Babylon's best kept "foodie" secret IMHO! Husband and I there on a Friday recently during Happy Hour and were seated in the back where it was a little bit quieter than the well-attended bar area in front. We were served by Sarah, who was informative, attentive, personable and witty as all get-out! Although there were a wide variety of options on the menu (the Ahi Tuna with Zoodles, Marinated Skirt Steak and Braised Short Rib looked tempting), we were in the mood for something more simple. We ordered one of the local beers on tap, as well as two appetizers: the Waldorf Salad and zucchini chips. The apples in the salad were fresh and the chips were accompanied by a delicious horseradish dip. We each had the Angus Smokehouse burger which was cooked perfectly and highlighted by the smoked paprika aioli and hand-cut fries. We were too full for dessert, but plan on adjusting accordingly next time we dine there. So glad we found H&S! We can't wait to return! More...

I recently had my second celebration at Horace and Sylvia's. It was wonderful from the planning with Kristine to the set up with the staff.  Carl the owner was available to answer all my questions and was so helpful the day of the party and the staff was helpful and pleasant as well. My guests all loved the food as it was fresh and delicious. We all had a great time.  I would highly recommend having a party or just stopping in for a beer and some good food.
