My fiance smokes meat himself so I trust his taste in BBQ more than anyone I know. I have to say this is some of the best BBQ you can get! The restaurant is inside of a hotel, as soon as you enter the lobby you see the restaurant on the right. There is a giant bar in the center and plenty of TVs. The patio was open and filled with families enjoying the summer day. Right outside the patio was a chairlift! How amazing would it be to ski a full day and ski down for some BBQ... Drool.We were seated inside near the patio, and the first time you notice are 6 different sauces for your meats. We ordered beef brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, and collard greens. The food comes out on a silver tray with a pork rind and a Hawaiian roll. The brisket was delicious and had my fiance's seal of approval. The ribs were super tender and just melted in your mouth and fell off the bone. However, the real star of the show was the collard greens. Yes, I said it! They were juicy, slightly tart, I'm pretty sure they're stewed in something meaty and delicious. I'm salivating thinking about them.We had fun trying all of the different sauces with our meal. Hands down best wings, burgers, tacos and of course BBQ in Charleston! Their fried ribs and chicken tacos are Ah-amazing! Another favorite is the fried chicken cracklings and fried Mac n cheese balls with house made pepper jelly ! EDIT: Tonight my husband and I decided to come back and give this place another try... the ladies behind the bar were fast, efficient and so friendly. I got the pastrami ends and they were delish and so tender, my husband tried the bbq sandwich again and was MUCH happier and enjoyed it as well. I am really glad we gave this place another try and I'm happy to report management really takes things serious. After my review a manager contacted me and apologized for our experience and made it right. Changing my review to five stars because tonight experience and food 100% deserves it! Also the live music was wonderful! We will be back!Came here before for drinks but decided to come today to finally try the food. Disappointed to say the least. The chicken was cold and had more bones then edible pieces. The mac and cheese was good but my husband said the pulled pork tasted off and he found a long blonde hair on his plate (we both have dark brown hair). It's really sad because we have heard so many rave reviews... maybe an off day but disappointing non the less. Pretty good bbq, heavy on the smoke but seems to have lightened up over the past year. Lots of sides, pretty tasty. Ordering and pickup is a line with trays, so easy enough. Probably gonna spend $12 a head for adults, but it’s order dependent. Sauce choice is a range that most will find pleasing, meat is served either plain or lightly vinegared, can’t tell/remember really. Pretty sure they are a gas smoked system, but still pretty good. Besides BBQ they also have chicken and brisket. Soda, tea station and desert. Staff is always smiling and ready to serve. Quiz them about the music there and they are knowledgeable about who is upcoming and who stood out. Live music. Bar is big enough and serves liquor, beer and wine. Priced decent for restaurant and stage. Has TVs. Outdoor seating available. The food was very good, although the brioche buns were a little sweet for my taste. Good selection of drinks, but nothing crazy, just what you come to expect at most any restaurant. The sauces are available at the table and are very tasty and varied. People who like it extra spicy may not find them hot enough.My one main gripe is that it is pricey and a little hard to navigate the menus for first timers. You only get a drink with your ~$12 sandwich/platter as part of the lunch special which runs from 11am-4pm.Overall a good atmosphere and very clean location.
