I had moved to folsom recently and was looking for a solid tax advisor to help file my taxes but i pleasantly surprised myself by finding a really good one in Holmes and Company. Holmes and company provided to me probably the most stress free tax filing ever so far.Laura came to our home and got down to the business straightaway and she was so thorough that i did not have to do much except provide the necessary documents needed to file my taxes and then to my surprise what i thought was going to be complex tax filing was done expertly without any issues or glitches within a hour and quarter of she being here and she also ended up saving us money by helping rectify the mistakes we have doing in our filing in the past. Overall very smooth , professional and to the point and a great pleasure to work withShe is also very responsive post filing, i.e. if you have any questions you want to ask her through email , please do as she is very responsive.And for all this she charges very very reasonably for her services, considering this is california i expected her fees to be higher honestly but she priced her services really reasonably to point where it was actually cheaper by quite a bit compared to previous filings when i had used a tax advisor.I also realized that you do need to avoid the big box places that do your taxes as their charge is at least 1.5X higher than hers and to top it they dont end up saving you much money anyway.If you have or expect to have a really complex tax filing on your hands owing to your diversified investments etc. Then you can trust Holmes and company to do the job for you.Definitely a 5 star rating for me. I found Laura through Yelp as I was looking for a local tax accountant to help us with our taxes - we had multiple states income last year, combined with a house purchase, county taxes, relocation expenses, previous year miscalculated Turbotax vouchers and payments - a nightmare. The experience with Laura was the best. She is knowledgeable, smart, discreet, on time, she responds fast to emails, agreed to meet in our house, and in within two hours she figured all out and voila! I met with Laura to consult about the best way to deal with my rental property. Â Although I hadn't intended to discuss ESPP (employee stock purchases), I was impressed by how familiar she was with these. Â My company seems to make these as difficult as possible to sum up for taxes, and I've had bad experiences with other tax advisers doing them incorrectly. I moved to Folsom recently and looked online for a tax accountant. Laura Homes had excellent reviews and responded immediately to my request for an appointment. She prepared both my LLC and personal tax returns. She made sure she had all the information she needed to get the best returns possible. The best thing was that she was able to meet me at my house, which is a boon with 2 small kids. I forgot one of the expenses, which she reminded me of before finalizing the returns. The day after I filed, I found that I had missed some share sales. We hired Laura Holmes to prepare both our 2014 and 2015 taxes. Â She came to our house in the evening and was able to get everything done in under 1 hour. Â 2015 taxes went even faster since she had all our information from the previous year. Laura is a lifesaver. Â She literally cut my taxes in half which was much needed! Â Couldn't ask for anything better in an accountant. Let's be honest. We all dread getting our taxes done, especially by a company we don't know. There's always that tiny voice in the back of our heads thinking. .. "What if they don't know what they're doing and I have to pay the price". It's official, your fears have been squashed! I can't rave enough about Holmes & Company! Laura goes above and beyond to ensure you get the most money back from both federal and state. If you work in the service industry, she handles all tips, income and write offs! Her knowledge of accounting is through the roof! I live in Orange County, and have had three jobs (along with unemployment) this last year. and all I had to do was email over the information, and wa la! I got a draft return email from her within 48 hours and my tax return directly deposited into my account shortly thereafter. I'd like to leave a GLOWING review for Laura as she's been spectacular with the handling and filing of my taxes. I work so much and have no time to do my own and the moment I tried, I realized I did not get it. 0_0! Laura has saved me two years in a row now and I cannot thank her enough! As a graduate student and mom who also works part time, I really do not have the time to sit down and do my taxes, and it all tends to get a bit confusing. Laura has done my taxes for a number of years now and I am always impressed with how knowledgable she is and the deductions she is able to get me. It's always nice to get more money back than I was expecting!!! Laura is also patient and she takes the time to walk me through all the steps needed to get them taken care of. I'm new to the Sacramento area after living in Stockton, CA for 9 years. I was looking for a tax professional that wasn't anything like the "commercial tax offices".
