Nice hotel. Very clean and reasonably priced. Lounge is very nice and food was good. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you need to stay in the area.

We brought a group for an overnight wine trip and all of us agreed that the beds were the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on so please share what brand of bed you have at your hotel we all want to know please! We loved it there and will be back next year. We were a little disappointed that there was no live band as we were told and the pool was closed so a few people were bummed about that but over all we all liked it there. Thank you. More...

Would have given it 5 * but some stay there because of work related and when you have to work at 7 and you don't serve bfast until 6:30 no time to eat and staying there all week kind of a bummer but on a good note very clean and awesome customer service

This review is specifically regarding the catering/events aspect of this hotel. My brother recently held his reception here, and I need to publicly thank Amy (don't have last name), who was the venue manager. Amy was onsite for the rehearsal dinner and entire wedding, and she was so great - always available and ready to help. I even saw her taking the time to help my 97 yo relative figure out what he wanted at the buffet. From one event planner to another, thank you, Amy! You helped make the day great. More...

Great experience in a great hotel! From the front desk staff upon check-in to the wait staff for our complimentary breakfast for 2, everything was on point! We had a nice quiet, clean room overlooking the Chemung River, we used the fitness center and the pool. Everything was great! Had a great time Mother's Day weekend, with great girl friends and will definitely do this again. We had the girls getaway package and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was set up for us and ready for our arival, The wellness spa and nail trix at the mall were great! , the Mother's Day brunch was well worth it! My husband and I just stayed here last night and we enjoyed it very much! The fact that we purchased the wine on ice package we were thrilled to receive the discount/coupons for the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast! I was just sad I didn't get to use the pool. And that was only because we didn't have enough time :) the food was just delicious, the room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. Yes there were some drunk individuals that walked the halls around 11 at night but that was to be expected for this event. I'm just glad it quieted down before midnight :). So thank you Holiday Inn! I stayed here for the second time now, while visiting my family in Elmira. It's a traditional Holiday Inn, solid, clean, well managed. Good free Wi-Fi. Some sections of the hotel have been updated, such as the really nice indoor pools area, but the rooms are due for a face-lift, not enough to make me go elsewhere, but noteworthy. My mom and I stayed one night. I asked for a room with a view, and we got a lovely one - with a view of the river, and the ducks swimming on it - and a hill with fall leaves. The breakfast coupon was more than enough for us to eat a hearty delicious meal to start our day - friendly staff. Clean, comfortable, and not at all like the bad review given on 6/6/14 - which almost made me stay away. I'd stay definitely stay here again if ever I'm back in the area. My husband and I stayed here last weekend. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. They offer a fitness facility, pool, restaurant, conference room, office space, ample parking, and laundry on site. The lobby was bright and welcoming, very clean also. Actually, everything was very clean. The rooms were very comfortable and again, they were very clean. I would say this is the nicest Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at! Ended up staying here on 2 separate reservations for a total of 5 nights over 2 weeks while passing through and working at Elmira College.  Front desk staff was very friendly, and I have no doubt this is the best hotel in Elmira.Breakfast was some of the best hotel breakfast I've ever had... probably because it is cooked to order in the in-house restaurant.Was thrilled there was laundry on site to refresh my clothes during my 3 week long tour.  Also happy to have a fridge to chill my beer! Rooms were clean (although on my second reservation, I guess I somehow got a smoking room?  or a room that had been converted from smoking?).  I called the front desk and they moved me across the hall, which didn't reek nearly as bad, but was still a little musty.  When I went to open the window to get some fresh air, there were a bunch of dead bugs and cobwebs that needed to be cleaned up.  I stayed in this room and let the front desk know at check out.Would stay here again, absolutely, but would also be sure to request non-smoking room at check-in next time. Rooms totally remodeled and redone. Very nice!! No longer the old down-and-out style as mentioned in 2008 review.  The staff has always been great and now the rooms are too!  Breakfast credit of $10 for order off the menu is also a nice change from typical hotel free breakfasts.  I will definitely stay here whenever I am in the area.
