I've been to Holi several times over my course of living in Panama City Beach and its a little out of the way for us to trek all the way to the Panama City location but I assure you the cuisine is incredible! ! Everything I've had there blows away my expectations every time. The Butter Chicken is the best I've ever had! Katherine and RJ were our wait staff the most recent time we visited and were very attentive, kind, and helped recommend us the best courses for us. I was so excited when I learned that we had an Indian restaurant in the Santa Rosa Beach area. I’m originally from Chicago so my standards for good food are set high so I was skeptical about what this food would taste like. Wow was I blown away! This food was so so good and I cannot recommend it enough. My family and I ordered the onion bhajia, chicken tikka masala (main) with basmati rice, gobi manchurian, garlic naan and mango lassi. The onion bhajia were like a spiced fried onion. The tikka masala was so flavorful and tasted great with the flavor packed garlic naan dipped into it. The gobi manchurian was more savory than I was expecting but if you love cauliflower, you need to try this. And the mango lassi is the perfect, creamy drink to help cool down the spice. I’m not someone that can easily tolerate spice so we had all our food made at a level 1 spice and I’m glad we did because it had a kick to it. The Lasooni chicken curry is the jam. The Dahi Puri is really well done. And the Naan is really quality. So glad we have a good Indian Restaurant now. I hope they can keep it up!

While I do recommend Holi because the food was DELISH, I do want to comment on my disappointment with the service/management especially since it has only been open one week. My husband and I went in around 7pm on Thursday evening to a mostly empty restaurant. The waitress was neither friendly or unfriendly but the other tables with different waitresses were getting a much better and more friendly experience as I overheard them explaining some of the dishes and making recommendations. Ours took our order and then left (to talk to another couple she must have known that came in after us) until she brought the bill back at the end of service. Another friendly female waitress stepped in to bring our food to the table. As we were eating our appetizers we discovered an issue which we brought to the new servers attention, she went and brought it to the attention of the manager or owner. When she returned she apologized on his behalf and said he would do something for us at the end of our meal. The new waitress got busy with another table and our original waitress returned brought the ticket unknowing of the circumstance. Because we were a little disappointed that the manager/owner never stopped by to acknowledge what had happened, we quietly just paid the bill without mentioning it again and left. Will we return, of course everyone deserves another chance and the food was AMAZING but I think it is unfair of a new business to not get feedback on areas that they can improve upon. Had an awesome lunch with my husband at Holi today. The folks here are really friendly and will explain the menu and dishes to you if you have any questions. Also - if someone in your group doesn't like Indian food, they also have some Chinese and other non-Indian dishes available to order (noodles, fried rice, spicy chicken wings, fries, cheese naan, etc). We typically judge whether or not we're going to return to an Indian restaurant by ordering what we call the "trifecta" - dal makhani, some sort of tandoori chicken, saag or palak paneer, and then sides of paratha, garlic naan, and raita. Based off of our experience, we will absolutely be returning here in the (near) future. You pretty much get half of a chicken with the tandoori chicken main, and although it's beautifully presented, it was pretty dry. That being said, the crispy bits of super flavorful rub/sauce on the outside totally made up for any dryness. I couldn't stop eating it haha. Everything else was super tasty as well. The dal was different than we've had in the past (it had more of a red color and a deeper flavor) but I would absolutely order it again. You get rice with most of the dishes, so you don't have to order it separately. We ended up with enough food for a total of 4 or 5 meals (!). FYI, if you're sensitive to heat you can choose your heat level on a scale from 1 to 5 for each dish. We choose a 3 and it was mildly spicy. I can't wait to come back and try a bunch of the other menu items (and order beer once the bar is open today or tomorrow!). I'm super excited these guys have moved into town! More...
