Libby, was so gracious and I knew that I had found the perfect spot to host our parents 40th wedding anniversary and our mom's 70th birthday. Saturday, December 12th, 2019 was an awesome experience.Libby is attentive, knowledgeable and really cares about ensuring that your day runs smoothly and that you have an overall amazing experience.The space is absolutely beautiful, the staff is courteous, friendly and efficient. Where do I start? Libby is a dream to work with. Her and her staff made our wedding day stress-free! When our officiant couldn’t make it for the rehearsal, she was there to help up plan the ceremony. She was super quick to respond to any of the questions that I had when planning the event. And was there the whole night making sure all was well. Libby and her whole team, even the staff at the Downtowner, welcomed us like friends any time we asked to see the space to plan or decorate. The Maxwell Room was the only space I could find in my area that offered that northern, romantic type of local. ...the Historic Maxwell ruined our lives! From now we are going to have to compare anytime we have an event to the most enchanted, ethereal place on earth! From Libby the manager, to the staff, to the exquisite decorations and lighting. It is the most unique and surreal experience we have ever had! Food was superb! We got married in February 2019, and I cannot tell you how wonderful of an experience it was to work with the Historic Maxwell Room. Libby first off is super down to earth and so accommodating. Our wedding started as a courthouse idea and went all the way to a full fledged wedding. So we had a few changes here and there through out the 5 months of planning, and it was never a problem for Libby and her team. The price is right and totally available on the website. No need for the pesky contact inquiries, you can find it right there in front of you. And for what you get, the food is phenomenal, the drinks are plentiful, and it made for an incredible night. Service is top notch! And the actual appearance of the place is so unique especially in South Florida. You won't find another place like it ladies. Please look no further! It's an incredible place, and Libby and her team are WOW WOW WOW! We used a lot of Maxwell's recommended vendors, and it was like working with a family of people who don't know you but want you to have an amazing day. Thank you so much! The Historic Maxwell Room is a hidden gem of a wedding venue in Fort Lauderdale!!! I don’t think it will be kept a secret for very long! My husband and I had our wedding at the Maxwell Room in June of 2018 for our 60 guests. It was the one and only wedding venue we looked at and from the moment Libby, the Event Coordinator at the Maxwell Room, gave us a tour, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue for us. Logistically, my husband and I really liked that we could hold our wedding ceremony and the reception on site, including having the reception catered by the Maxwell Room – we wanted to move right to the cocktail hour and reception after the ceremony without any of our guests having to travel in between. The price for our reception and cocktail hour was right on point and we felt the cost was very fair for what was included in our package. The space itself is intimate, charming and versatile to any bride’s vision of décor for her wedding. Our guests were raving about the venue. The ceremony space turned into the dance floor later on in the evening and the beautiful bar is adjacent to the dance floor so guests could mingle and chat without feeling far away from the action. The courtyard outside the Maxwell Room served as a lovely space for our cocktail hour and for guests to get some air from dancing. Our dinner was delicious and the service impeccable. I cannot recommend this wedding venue enough! Working with Libby, their Event Coordinator, was seamless and completely stress-free - she was professional, offered useful advice and always replied to my questions in a timely manner. She made me feel at ease throughout the entire planning process and made my vision come to life. This is the best kept secret in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. I cannot say enough about the location, decor, service and staff. Libby is an excellent Event Coordinator and she made the process seamless. The bar tenders were excellent and made the drinks with perfection and a smile. My guests could not stop raving about the service they received from the wait staff Yvette, Steve and Sam. They went out of their way to be accommodating to everyone's needs. If I could give them 10 stars I would, because that is how spectacular the decor, service, drinks and food were. I wish the party could go on all night. The next day clean up was a breeze because staff put everything together to make it easy for me to pick up my items. The maxwell room is the absolute perfect spot to get married and hold a reception or any special event coming up. Libby and the staff go above and beyond to make your dream day come true.
They were attentive and flexible and explained everything ahead of my event. The venue itself is romantic and the courtyard is lush with natural beauty. Dinner and drinks were through this vendor and were delicious. I planned from Oklahoma a Florida wedding that turned out fabulous thanks in great part to Libby's people/communication skills.
