Well...HeyChef! has done it again and this one, will too go down in the books for a night to remember. I can't say enough about the impeccable service that HeyChef! brings to the table. There's something called "mountain time" that many businesses in the Tahoe area operate on, but not HeyChef! They answer their phone and it's always pleasant to get a live voice and not a voicemail. Absolutely wonderful experience! Chef Patrick was spot on with his presentation and preparation. He was very knowledgeable on all the dishes and I loved the southern accents he added from him being raised in the South . Although plantains were not available his substitution of green bananas in its place was ingenious. I highly recommend Hey Chef for any dinner party where you don't want to labor in your kitchen!! I had never used a private chef service before, but a friend recommended Hey Chef! to me when I had to provide dinner to 20 guests. I had no idea where to start, how much to buy let alone what to cook! Holly called me right back and instantly put me at ease anwering all my questions, suggesting menus, timeline, and I could see the evening clearly. Holly and the Hey Chef! team are the best.   My husband's family surprised us for our son's first birthday.  While my family and I went to Donner Lake enjoying the day together, Grog arrivied at our home and produced the most delicious meal including home made bread and a birthday cake with candles that completed the celebration!  Every detail was thought out and expidited perfectly.  I will call Hey Chef! for all our celebrations from now on. I am a huge fan of HeyChef! for delicious and healthy meals served in your own home. Their lead Chef Grog is fantastic; he has the skill and insight to elevate any meal. One of my favorite dishes by Chef Grog is seafood Wellington; it is out-of-this-world delicious. And his home-made sourdough bread, hot from the oven, is sublime, with the scent of sourdough, a light and doughy interior and a wonderful crust. Nothing is better than a warm slice of Grog’s sourdough bread with a bowl of his soup on a cold winter evening. My family and I have had HeyChef! provide cooking in our vacation home at Sugar Bowl. Not only was it delicious but Chef Grog is an engaging and wonderfully versatile chef. And did you know that Grog is an expert flint-knapper? At one HeyChef! dinner Grog took the time to provide a demonstration to kids on how to make obsidian arrowheads. I don’t know if that’s part of their normal business model! But I am fascinated by Native American culture and the kids loved watching him make arrowheads (which they got to keep afterwards!). A winter or summer season in Tahoe isn’t complete without a meal prepared by HeyChef! Holly and their office team are always receptive and responsive to my calls and every request is handled without my having to get involved in the details. I can't say enough wonderful things about Hey Chef!? All of the meals that were prepared were out of this WORLD and some of the best I've had in my entire life! They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish and went above and beyond to make are company retreat a memorable one! Our family decided to spend a long weekend in Tahoe to celebrate my birthday last month and no one felt like cooking so I called Holly just 48hrs before the celebration and asked if she would be able to find a chef for the evening. She was very responsive and accommodating (especially given the short notice). Jacob arrived on my birthday ready to cook us a wonderful 4-course Mediterranean meal. In the meantime, we relaxed with a glass of wine and played games with our kids!! The food was amazing, Jacob was a pleasure to have around and even our 2 kids (7 and 2) loved the food. Grog and team just finished another weekend event for me (two dinners and two breakfasts).  They've catered my annual marathon eating weekend for almost 10 years - usually 30-60 friends and family for each meal.  I know I should expect it as normal, but after every event, I am stunned at the great quality and service.  The food is as good as any fine restaurant and the service is consistently great.  I can't recommend them highly enough. I cannot recommend Hey Chef! enough.  I wanted to have a special dinner at a reunion with friends at a rental home in Truckee. I was worried about trying to arrange a dinner party long distance in a house I'd never seen but Holly made everything so easy.  They happily accommodated our request for a special entree and dealt with multiple food allergies when creating our menu.  Holly even made a special trip to meet us the morning of our event to pick up some special food we had brought.  Chef Grog made us an amazing meal (even the guest who doesn't care for fish LOVED the salmon dish) and was so charming with all the guests.  Our server, Michelle, served us like we were royalty. I make an effort to show both sides, constructive criticism is a good thing.That said...I can ONLY say great things about Hey Chef! From the very first call with Holly to the final invoicing- this team is tip top- professional, helpful, knowledgable and all around fantastic.Our company held a corporate retreat, for a client, in Truckee. The Hey Chef! team made our event a smashing success. Chef Grog was wonderful, his talent, personality and professionalism, all tip top. Our guests felt spoiled by the food quality and service provided.Cassidy and Jen were our servers/bartenders and these ladies didn't miss a beat. They were lovely, well groomed, friendly and professional. They required no direction, they just went to work with a smile on their faces. The meals were DELICIOUS, we had the opportunity to have Chef Grog and the ladies, provide, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hey Chef put on a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner for about 45 people ranging in age from 1 to 77.  It was short notice but everything ran smoothly.  The food was fantastic... especially the chicken chili.... and Chefs Grog and Jeremiah and servers Sarah and Donna were fun, warm and rolled with the flow.  Thank you so much and we will be seeking your services again soon! Highly recommended!  Chef Grog prepared a wonderful meal at our house.  He called several days before to plan the menu and make suggestions.  We quickly realized he was well schooled in all manners of cuisine.  The meal was excellent and the kitchen was left cleaner then when he arrived.  We had Christie as service staff and she added greatly to the dinner by mixing and serving drinks etc.  Both Chef Grog and Christie wore uniforms and were very professional.  The dinner was certainly five stars but rather expensive at $1,900 for nine adults (including service, food, tax, tip, but not wine and drinks) More...
