I've been going here to get my brows threaded for a couple of years now after they came highly recommended to me from a trustworthy friend. I went in on a Groupon for a Brazilian and am glad I did. It took roughly 5-7 minutes for her to do everything, which was awesome. It's normally $55 for a Brazilian but with the Groupon I think I bought two for just under the price of one. Would highly recommend the Groupon if you can get it! Getting ready for vacation and needed a wax. Came here based on my friends rave reviews about Neeta. I arrived a little early and was great immediately. Threading is upstairs and waxing suite is downstairs. Extremely clean (huge in my book) and comfortable. There is a curtain for changing privacy. Neeta is fast, friendly and really good at waxing. It was by far the quickest Brazilian I have had with white strips. Baby powder to start, Organic wax was amazing and left no rash. Lotion after to calm the skin. I moved to New England half a year ago and my brows have had any attention since then. Heritage Threading is great. I asked for my brows to be cleaned up. The woman who helped me was very quick and it was painless. If I lived nearby I would be a regular. Coming in made me homesick for Chicago's Devon Avenue. I highly recommend. Please bring cash. I stopped by this somerville location the other day after seeing some pretty good reviews for their other location in Brookline (which is too far from me). Luckily this somerville location is within walking distance of the Porter Sq. T stop (I'd say less than 10 minutes walk). And even better, the shop is located right in front of a bus stop! Both #87 and #83 stop right in front of it, so this location is super convenient. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly desi woman, and she later informed me she was the owner. I was surprised to see that this isn't JUST a threading salon- but they also do hair, nails, henna, etc. And the prices were excellent. I only got my eyebrows done (regular price $12, but only $10 with a student ID). Other prices:upper lip $6chin $6[There's a whole list of services, and all the prices looked very reasonable]. And with the student discount, this place is definitely a bargain! The actual threading experience was very pleasant- it's clear she knows what she's doing. There was no pain at all, she threads very quickly and puts aloe on at the end to soothe any irritation. I will definitely be returning!UPDATE: if you decide to go, call ahead and ask if the owner is working. The other people are not as competent. Heritage Threading is by far the best waxing place I've ever been! I am a regular there and I've had every type of waxing they offer. Neeta, my waxer, is swift and thorough. It is practically painless and my favorite part is that the wax is organic so I never get rashes or swelling. I had trouble finding threading salons in Boston, but about a year ago was (thankfully) pointed in the direction of Heritage. Since then, I've been coming every three weeks or so. I love having a place by my house that I can trust will give me great brows every time. The wait is never long, and all of the threaders are friendly. Cash only, but there's a CVS next door I usually pick up cash at. Plus, it's very reasonably priced ($12, $15 with tip). My only gripe is that they aren't open on Sundays/ Mondays, but this can be avoided by planning ahead! More...

I went to Heritage Threading Salon for my first waxing experience. I bought the Groupon for a Brazilian wax, and also scheduled for underarm waxing as well. It was easy to book an appointment and they take walk ins as well.I was brought downstairs to a private, very clean looking room. The woman doing my waxing was named Neeta. I explained to her that I have never had anything waxed before and she was very helpful. She was reassuring the whole time and very quick! Before I knew it it was all over and not nearly as painful as I anticipated, I attribute the lack of pain to her quick and careful method. The pricing was very fair for the services they provided. FASTEST and most pain-free wax ever! Seriously..under 10 minutes. No weird positions or tweezers necessary (though I don't have very thick hair, so it might be different for other people). I come here every time I need my eyebrows threaded. And the price isn't half bad at all. Upper lip is six and so is chin. Full face I think is 30 which they do nails and facials too along with waxing . But with threading they do neck and side burns. They work pretty quick and give you aloe cooling gel afterward if you'd like. The do student discount just gotta show your card and I have noticed that the more I thread the less often I have to visit which is such a plus! More...

Like many others here, I came here for a Brazilian because I got a Groupon. Unlike some others though, I don't really understand  what they mean when they say they wouldn't pay the full price. $50-$55 is pretty standard or on the low end price-wise for a Brazilian, and I don't know about other ladies, but I don't really expect a spa-experience when I get my lady-bits waxed...Anyway, it was INSANELY fast, which is my book is a great thing! She maybe missed a couple stray hairs here and there, but no more than other places I've been to. Also, the wax lasted the standard amount of time, my hair started to grow back slowly about a week or so later, so it definitely wasn't just ripped off at the surface/The lady was friendly but not overly chatty, which was fine with me. I went in on a Saturday afternoon for an eyebrow threading, at around 3 or 4 without scheduling an appointment. I was the only person in the salon and they quickly attended to me. I was nervous at first because rumor has it that threading can be very painful, but the woman who did mine was really nice and it was not painful at all. I used to tweeze them and I found that to actually be more painful. Getting them threaded just feels like a small pinch; barely noticeable at all. I did notice there was a TINY bit of redness from the irritation, but that is a given, and it was gone in about fifteen minutes.The woman also asked me what I wanted them to look like before starting, and I told her to try to clean them up a bit and try to even them out a little (my eyebrows were slightly uneven). She did a really great job and listened to everything I asked for perfectly! They looked great afterwards, and she was really friendly. The entire process took about five minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name.The usual threading price is $12, but I only had to pay $10 because I am a student. They didn't ask for any ID, they just asked me if I was a student and they charged me for $10. They also ask that you give a 20% tip, which I thought was very reasonable for a great service. FYI, if you get a service under $30, make sure you have cash.I am extremely happy with how my eyebrows look, and I will definitely be going back there. The people were very friendly and had very good English, and tried their best to make me feel very comfortable when I told them it was my first time getting my eyebrows done. If you are considering going here, I strongly recommend it. Lastly: this is located in the Coolidge Corner arcade; I had some trouble finding it first, but if you come in from the entrance on Harvard street it is on the first floor on the left, about 1 or 2 stores down. I bought a groupon solely based on previous reviews. While this place is extremely out of my way it was worth the 45-min sweaty train ride. This review is for eyebrow threading only. I normally see only Neeta but since she is on vacation I saw a lovely woman named Devyani. She did a fantastic job! Just as good as Neeta. Absolutely painless too :)It's a Tuesday afternoon (12pm) and I was in and out in under 10 minutes as a walk-in. The price is great too $12 for the eyebrows. I've been to other places that do less quality of work for much more $.I recommend this place to anyone and especially to this who have had a negative threading experience. I got a Groupon and decided to check this place out for a Brazilian wax. The staff was very nice and friendly, and I actually came in 30 minutes earlier than my appointment time, but because their appointed person was late, they took me in to fill the time slot. I was in and out within 10 minutes, and it was the fastest wax I have ever gotten my in life. Also the least painful one too!!!The tip for a less painful wax is to relax when they pull the hair out and don't cringe, also to pop a few Advil an hour ahead of time. Love that I can drop in with no appointment and be seen right away (Friday afternoon).  The space is reminiscent of a no-frills, old-school barbershop with fluorescent lighting, but you're literally in and out within 15 minutes (and your eyes are closed most of the time, so who cares? ).  Neeta was quick but thorough, expert, and my eyebrows were fabulously shaped and left thick.
