Amazing shelter, my daughter got a cat from here recently and they are the nicest people who welcomed us right when we walked in the door who were very helpful and helped my daughter find the perfect sweet kitty!!!

A great shelter to go to and its facility is what Topeka needed. They were patient with us until we found another dog our dog got along with. Now we have Buddy to add to our family. More...

Knowledgeable and caring about pets. Only wishing things were a little better but that does take us and money. I do love that they are open 7 days a week and help with recovering lost pets. We just adopted a hamster from here today and things are going without a hitch. More...

I love these guys! The service they provide for our community is outstanding. When I decided that I wanted a pet, I knew where to go. I went on Black Fur Day, (Black Friday) and got my wonderful kitten Peanut! And the adoption only cost $25! That's a bargin. Thanks HHS! More...

Love these guys. And so does Bear, my 92 pound, lap dog. When I need to board him, for a weekend, he goes in, and pretty much leads the boarding tech, back to the kennels. And his tail is always wagging around the staff. He trusts them, I trust them. More...

Helping Hands is a great place to find your new best friend, you can get to know one or more of their adoptable buddies in a little booth, one on one. But they are also the perfect place to take a found pet; we've found a couple of canine fur babies out wandering around, and were able to take them there. They have a chip reader so if your lost pet has been "chipped" and your records (contact information) is up to date the reunion is as easy as that. More...
