We saw an ad in a magazine for Heathen Brewing while sightseeing in Vancouver for the day. The logo made it look intriguing, so we stopped by for a quick beer. We parked on the street a few blocks away (Avoiding metered parking) and took a seat at the bar. The interior has a dark, moody feel. The beer selection here is awesomely overwhelming. Basically saying what an AWESOME selection! There's so much to try, their happy hour prices are fantastic, and food is great. Most of their servers have a smile and ensure you are enjoying your stay. Updated Review: been here many times over the years.  Last night, we were not as impressed.  They still get 4 stars.  It was happy hour.  A dollar off $6 beer (so $5 for a great local brew).  Tacos were a good deal $4 on Taco Tuesday for 2 tacos. They were stuffed with good things.  My only gripe was there was ONE person in the bar serving the entire place.  This wasn't a problem at 4pm.  But by 5:30 the place was packed.  To order, they make you go to the bar - because there are NO servers - just a bartender.  Despite this, the food came quick & the nice lady pouring the beer was pretty quick.  This place was 5 stars for me previously.  Seems kind of cheesy that management has decided that things are SO tight that you have one person serving.  That is Lame.  Is the rent really that atrocious here?  I mean the place is packed.   Kinda weird and lame.  I've seen this at other tiny, newb places in the area - but Heathen is beyond this sort of thing - or so I thought.  Maybe someone called in sick  Oh well, good beer and food.  But next time, if I have to wait for service very long - it will be 3 stars. I had a great experience here, we came in before heading over to clark college for my sons taekwondo tournament. We nabbed a promo for their brunch (seems to be a new thing) so we had four whole items to choose. French Toast:First up for the kids we had to try the KIDS, it was disappointing, I expected a serious thicker, and it was just not quite what I was wanting.Chicken Fried Steak: Came with gravy, potatos, and the steak. The meat was as expected, its no prime cut but done well it's amazing. It was! Potatos were crispy goodness, add salt. Oh so good that gravy!! Can't believe I've never reviewed this.... love Heathen! So many beers and ciders on tap as well as wine. Great food! The beer cheese soup was good. Also am a big fan of the wrap around bar with lots of seating as well as the spacious outdoor seating and bar. Have always wanted to try the paint nights here as well but they're always booked up! We snagged a Groupon since we had not tried this place out yet. The Groupon was a really good deal and it gave us 4 brunch entrees for $30. When we go there, the entrees were reasonably priced anyway so even without the Groupon, it was affordable. Our food was quick and very tasty. The only thing that I thought was strange was having to order at the bar top and bussing your own table. For a place as large as it is, I would have expected to have servers come to the table, take the order, and clean up when you are done. Besides the cool logo and atmosphere the beer was great. They have a lot of beer on tap and the staff is great. I had the Fish N Chips for lunch and they were very tasty. Went great with my Heathenweizen.

Absolutely an amazing place! We're from out of town and actually drove by this place and had to turn around. I love the irony of the location being across the street from a church. Gotta love the logo as well!We sat outside and enjoyed the rain. The menu is great, and the beer selection is not bad. The seats outside are a bit uncomfortable, and the tables weren't very clean. Had the blackberry Hefeweizen and tribal heat wings. The wings weren't as hot as expected but the beer was fantastic. Other then the wings being not as spicy as expected, they were really good. You could tell the chicken was fresh. As of July 2019 Growlers cost 8$ for the bottle and for a full up it's dependent on the beer. Average I saw was around 18$. First time here and it was a BIG win! Cute place and do fun, we're not from here and a friend recommended it. I didn't have high hopes but Quickly was excited. I'm not a big drinker BUT they don't disappoint the drinks were amazing. You order and pay at bar. Get your drink and wait for food, so much better this way. I really enjoy coming to heathen, wether it's for lunch, dinner or happy hour! The staff is always so friendly, they keep a great amount of beer in stock, I have never been denied a beer due to them running out. The food is delicious I have tried just about everything and new outdoor seating makes for a great experience when the weather is nice! 1st time here and will definitely return...Beer, Beer and more Beer...great choices for all. Wife had the Mimosa flight and was happy with that. Bartender very engaging and treated us as if we were regulars. Mac n Cheese was legit as well as the chef salad good quantity, great quality. We tried the brownie only complaint was the smoked carmel sauce was grainy and left a bad after taste...So go enjoy the rest of the menu as the pizzas looked legit. Good food, service was pretty good, definitely tasty beer and food, biggest drawback was the bartender was very talky wouldn't stop talking talk to cross the bar so it was very distracting when you're trying to have a nice peaceful lunch. Delicious food and courteous staff. Service is a little slow and may forget things when it's super busy but that's understandable. Really cute little place. Has a great outside patio with string lights. We came here for brunch on a Sunday. Note the new brunch hours that start at 9am. We got here at 11:30 when we thought they opened and it was packed!! The whole brunch menu was super affordable for great sized portions. I think most things were $8, and some were $12. Online it says they have fried chicken and waffle but they don't :( oh well made my decision easier!I had the eggs Benedict. And it was delish!!!!! Canadian ham was a nice thick slice. My boyfriend had the corned beef hash and loved itThe Bloody Mary however was the weirdest thing ever. Great place for brunch, good food, fast and friendly service. The eggs Benedict were a bit garlicky due to the spinach being sauted with A LOT of said ingredient. To be fair, it did mention it in the menu. The eggs were poached perfectly! The 3 lil Pigs Sandwich was very good, the meats were great! The potatos on the side were okay. Love this place. It was our first time here and it was recommended by a very close friend. Our bartender was awesome. He had us try a variety of Ciders and stouts. My favorite was the stout with mint and a stout with a peanut butter taste. They both went down so smoothly. My favorite was the Baked Apple pie cider. Â Soooo good and the food was on point. Whenever we pass through again that is OUR go to spot. I wish I could remember the bartenders name. He was awesome and he deserves kudos, he was the one with the downward handlebar mustache. We've been many a time with friends & family. Never a bad experience. Great food and drink. But, it wasn't until tonight that they went from great to epic. I had thee best Rueben I've ever had and to think it was after it had sat in a car and was delivered by Uber Eats. day agoProbably the best hot sandwich of my life. Cuban with double meat, OMG. I was eating it wondering if I might ever have a hot sandwich this good again. Wife went out on a limb and ordered peanut butter Maple bacon burger and just kept saying "amazing". She says to write " one of the most incredible burgers of my entire life". She also had the sweet potato fries with wasabi. Weird right? No, pull off the freeway and get some, I'm serious. 56 beers and ciders on tap, open airy pub setting. If I hadn't written so much about the food I would have written that much about the beer. Good for me that I live two plus hours from here or I'd be known by name. Extensive beer menu & their own brews are very good with some unique options to choose from. Their food menu is great, too, with far more on the food side to choose from than we expected. I had a burger (PB & bacon & cheddar on it, and it was delicious!) & the Hubs had their Smoked Chicken sandwich (made w/their own house-smoked chicken & it was also delicious). They don't give you a lot of fries with the sandwiches/burgers, though (granted it was probably the amount of fries you should eat & not stuff yourself). On Saturdays & Sunday's they have a brunch menu as well until 2 p.m. The menu also listed for their basic burger that Active-Duty Military & Veterans can double the meat on the burger for no additional charge. Came in late on a Sunday. Staff is really friendly and offered up tasters of the beers I was thinking about ordering. Good guy named Esley was taking care of me at the bar. Good sense of humor and kept me talking, I was there by myself so that was nice. Since it was happy hour all day on Sundays I nabbed up some of the house smoked wings and BOOM! Wicked... no blue cheese or ranch needed cept for the celery I guess. And the perfect portion size. All the wow in your mouth and no regrets. Came here after a run with the Vancouver run grub and chug group which is a great group by the way. They had a whole space reserved for us which was super super nice it was right on the right side of the restaurant and was very spacious with a lot of benches. Most people got drinks but I actually got a veggie bowl which was really really healthy and I actually thought it was quite bland until I put the pesto on top of it. After that it was actually quite enjoyable meal and the different things in it like the beans and quinoa and kale made it a super healthy guilt free meal.Service: We came here during happy hour and they took our orders really well even though we were gigantic group. The food came in maybe 20 or so minutes. Ambiance: this place is pretty casual it's like a bar pub kind of setting and most people here are just with friends with family.Overall I will probably come back here with the same running club and get some other food just to try it out. Every time we come here- since they first opened- we're impressed. Â Last night we had the best burgers of our lives. Â I can't believe how good they were. Â Now they serve their own wine too. Â A little slim on the hard alcohol drink menu. Â But I'm there for the beer anyway. Â Last night, we were by the front door. Â Beware at the front - along the glass - it's freezing cold! Vancouver favorite. Vancouver go-to. Heathen has legit beer of which tastes exactly as they are noted. Nowadays, those are hard to find. Not only do they specialize in beer, but they also have wine (Hence Heathen Estate Winery) and occasional guest beers on rotate. With all the variety, are you sure they taste good? YES. Stumbled upon this place because it was close to my hotel. Glad I did. Over 56 beers to choose from, I tried five different. My favorite was the Moscow Mule Sour. I don't know how they did it but they took the best of my two favorite drinks - the mule and beer - to make one of the better tasting drinks I've ever had. Great happy hour for food and drink. They have a great outdoor patio! It was a great location for my husbands 10 year high school reunion. The pizza and salad were good but the stout brownies stole the show! I also really enjoyed their glittery pink lemonade drink... I could have had several of them, but I stopped at 2. I would say the staff wasn't super cheery or friendly but everything else was good. Went here for my birthday and had a blast! Â Great atmosphere, attentive service, nice beer selection and amazing food! Â Born in Chicago, I'd like to think I know good pizza. Â I had the 12 inch pepperoni pizza. Â Finally, a pizza in the PNW that didn't leave me praying for more cheese! Â Also, I requested my pizza cooked well done, golden brown on the top with crispy edges. Â My pizza was cooked to perfection! Â Three friends hade the fish n chips.
