I'm writing a second review just to say that after 2+ months of working with Ardath primarily through Reiki and Craniosacral therapies, I am experiencing profound psychological relief. I am more centered and grounded than I've been in years. I can now face stuff that used to trigger me with so much more equanimity, and I bounce back much more quickly! I surprised my boyfriend with a reike session with Ardath. I had an instant feeling of warmth and peace the moment we walked into her home.  I almost felt like I had known Ardath and was very comfortable being around her. She just didn't feel like a stranger to me. Anyway, I left and hung at the Starbucks during my BF's session; there's not a whole lot of room to chill and that was no problem because Starbucks was literally 5 seconds away. To sum up,  my BF's reike session was, as he stated, "not a big deal". Ugh. I was disappointed in my BF.  He wasn't open to it and I felt he didn't  get everything out of it because he had a wall up. So I decided I'd make an appt for myself. I went fully prepared to take it all in. Whatever a reike session gives I was going to receive it. And it was amazing!!!! I left feeling peaceful and energized. I was in a completely relaxed state of mind during the session. It's hard for me to explain; you just have to experience it and be open. Ardath is an incredible massage/craniosacral/reiki therapist. She is extremely sensitive and intuitive making a session with her quite magical. She can always feel the spots that need work (without asking) and knows exactly what to do to help the stress and tension melt away with ease. By the end of the session, I feel like a million bucks. I can't say enough good things about Ardath! Her massage work is far superior than any I have experienced in Chicagoland! I will never consider going anywhere else . Ardath is sensitive to her clients needs and will do her best to work out those knots!! Believe me she can do it. On January 2012, I was commuting to work early in the morning and heard about Reiki on the radio. I immediately become very interested in it. During the segment one of the announcers was explaining how it was a very good way to "balance" yourself and to get rid of any negative or stagnant energies we hold in our bodies. She was very excited and sure energy healing was extremely beneficial. At the same time, however, the other announcers were very confused as to what Reiki really entailed and how it worked. None the less, I thought to myself..."Well if I do have any negative, imbalance, or stagnant energy within me, and if someone can help me balance or get rid of it... WHY NOT?!"That was my introduction to Reiki in this lifetime. I was very fortunate to have found a wonderful intuitive Reiki Master and scheduled my first Reiki Session. One week after that first session the Divine encounter with Reiki Master/Teacher, Ardath Berliant, was perfectly aligned in my life. Since then my life has really been even more beautiful, filled all so many synchronicity, and miracles after miracles. I have been lucky to have been receiving Reili treatments by Ardath for many years. As many, I was sceptical of Reiki even after trying it with other practictioners before I met Ardath, but I decided to give Ardath a try. I have never regretted it since. I went to see Ardath about 4 weeks after I had injured my back.  In the meantime, I had seen my internist and had been referred for physical therapy.  I was very faithful doing the daily PT exercises, but they didn't seem to be helping.  Eventually, my sister recommended Ardath and by the time I made an appointment, my right hip and knee were also hurting!  I had 3 Reiki treatments within a week -- after which about 95% of the pain was gone!  I didn't need to use the muscle relaxers or the pain medication which my doctor had prescribed.  I must admit that I don't really understand exactly how Reiki affects the healing process.  But from my perspective, the results have been remarkable. First time client and  I think the best words to describe my session was extremely relaxed. I did feel tingles of energy in my feet and hands. ..very subtle but I felt it for sure... but I couldn't stop yawning afterwards to save my life! I was soooo sleepy! but it was good. I am a complete newbie about Reiki and similar non-traditional therapeutic methods, but Ardath came highly recommended, so I tried a session with her. All I can say is wow! I really felt like something intensely relaxing was happening, and afterwards it felt like I just finished the best massage ever.  Since then I've had a few more sessions that were equally as satisfying, and she even did a "distance Reiki" with me over the phone when I was feeling too poorly to come in. I can't explain it but that session worked almost as well, and I recovered from the cold I had in about half the time it usually takes me.
