Heal By Hand Wellness Center

Dr. Michelle is awesome.  I've tried a number of chiropractors over the years. Often the chiropractor will say that they want to do an x-ray of your spine, and (after reviewing the X-ray) they want to establish a "treatment plan. "  I've never had good results with chiropractors like that.  Dr. Michelle didn't do that.  She asked a few questions, felt my spine, and then crack-crack... and I was all better!  I have found that my chiropractic results (with all chiropractors) don't last very long unless I get a massage beforehand.  Dr. Michelle recognizes the correlation and importance of massage, so she has several massage therapists available through her office.  When I go to her office and get a massage with an adjustment directly afterwards, the adjustment tends to last for weeks.  It's so wonderful that I found myself booking regular bi-monthly appointments for several years until I moved too far away to utilize her office any more.  I'm hoping to find a good chiropractor near my new home, but I doubt anyone will be as good as she was.  Keep up the good work, Dr. Michelle! Is it possible to give a 10 out 5? because that's how I really feel about this place. This review is long overdue. Heal By Hand Wellness Center means the world to me as they helped me not only get back on my feet physically but mentally. I used to work for a movie studio here in san diego and would work upwards to 80 hours a week during peak times.I sat and would stew in pain as I worked and eventually it got to the point to where I couldn't do it anymore. I had pinched nerves, I was depressed and overweight. After I quit I went to go see Dr. Michelle to get better and boy did she work her magic, not only as a chiropractor but as a genuinely good human being. She listened to my problems and understood what I was going through, she really didn't need to do any of that but she did and for that I'm eternally grateful. Dr. Michelle saw me at my lowest and has seen my soar after I quit my job. Trust me, it was a great job. The cons just eventually outweighed the pros.I now own my own business and travel to many states for productions but none of that would've been possible without Heal By Hand Wellness Center. If you're considering this place, just dive in. You won't regret going here. Just remember one can have the passion for life but the body also has to match the willingness of the fire. More...

Amazinggg place, not enough great things to say here. They took amazing care of me after my back injury due to a car accident where I was rear ended on the freeway 4 ish years ago now. I came in the first time barely being able to walk, and I left with immediate relief and less discomfort and pain. After working with them for several months I made a complete recovery!!! I'm able too I walk, run, jump ect normally again, they are miracle workers. I still come in once in a blue moon for adjustments when I tweak something to get adjusted. I won't go anywhere else now. Chiropractor services: Dr. Michelle is the best! She actually listens and cracks accordingly. Their deep soundwave machine thingy is fantastic and really relaxes the muscles. Yes! My massage with Stephanie was the most amazing massage in my life. It is totally worth it to make an appointment with her! My husband also liked Wendy. We are going to try to come here once a month because of how awesome our massages were today!Dr. Michelle is the most honest chiropractor we have met. We asked her how often our maintenance adjustments should be and she said once a month if we aren't in pain. I have visited chiropractors who only want my money and tell me I need to go once or twice a week! Since my son was born, I started experiencing more back pain. A friend suggested I go here and I'm so glad she did! Visiting Michelle for chiropractic adjustments has helped so much and I go back when the need arises. I've had chronic back problems since high school and have seen many chiropractors, acupuncturists, doctors, etc.  I came across Dr. Michelle and Heal by Hand several years ago and she's been nothing short of amazing. Her massage staff, front desk staff are all so friendly and professional. My back problems come and go - each time I'll go to visit her and after 2 or 3 visits I feel better and can go about my day to day life once again. You don't realize how much we take little things for granted (like the ability to stand up straight and walk without pain) until it's taken away from you. Jody is the BEST massage therapist I have ever been to hands down! I've been seeing her for over a year for deep tissue massages. I have been to tons of different therapists over the years and never remained loyal until I found Jody at Heal by Hand. I buy the packages which are very affordable and go monthly. I recently had shoulder surgery and have been going more often  to help release the knots and tightness in my back so I can get the most out of my physical therapy. My husband also comes for massages as well. When we come together one of us gets a massage and the other person waits in a relaxation room with a massage chair or water table so we both get to relax the entire time. Go see Jody! More...

This was my first time seeing a chiropractor for stabbing lower back pain that has persisted for several months, due to my computer-focused job and insufficient exercise, and I'm kicking myself for not having come here sooner because my coworkers have been specifically recommending Dr. Michelle and her staff. Upon first contact with the amazingly personable Jody at the front desk, I knew this was going to be an incredible experience. Stephanie is a phenomenal massage therapist, she took extra time to smooth out my tight spots on the right shoulder and back of the neck - which made a huge difference with my posture, frequent headaches, and stress-level; she is such a sweetheart, knows exactly what she's doing, and I'm very grateful for her time and expertise. Dr. Michelle and her team treat you like a long-time friend, even on your first meet, which is inexplicably comforting. I appreciated the doctor explaining procedure with the adjustment and assuring the noise is only gas/air escaping the joints, and I couldn't stop giggling at every "cracking" sound. I'm easily entertained and got such a huge kick out of how interesting the sound is when it's your body being adjusted! After my appointment, I felt and slept better than I have in years! I decided on Dr. Michelle because of her reviews, and I couldn't be happier about my decision.I called today to make an appointment for my back. The receptionist was very nice and accommodating. I had no idea that they would be able to get me in today. Easy parking, and when I got inside, I was treated like I've been there many times. Dr. Michelle was very keen to what I needed. I found Heal by Hand Wellness center through my insurance provider and decided to make an appointment after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. This is my first visit ever to a chiropractor and I couldn't feel any more happy or lucky that it's Dr. Leach. She makes you feel super comfortable and talks you through everything. I'm kicking myself for never visiting a chiro office sooner but at the same time I think the stars were preparing me for this day. I visited her on office on Saturday, January 28th for a 30-min massage therapy session (which is by itself amazing as well) then an adjustment. I experienced periodic neck and spine issues recently and had visited many chiropractors in both Los Angeles and San Diego areas. Dr Michelle is not the strongest looking doctor and I have to admit that I had doubt initially whether she was able to fix me. I am very lucky to have such a positive eacperience and outcome with Dr. Michelle and her staff. I was in a car accident where i injured my lower back. I was not pleased with the chiropractor I was seeing. With time and rest, my back pain decreased. Now, that I am pregnant, my back pains have resurfaced. Vausing me a great deal of pain. With working eith Dr. Michelle, she  has found the exact spot that is causing me discomfort. I feel relieved when leaving her office. This place is AMAZING!Came here after I was in a pretty bad car accident. Dr. Michelle is super welcoming and really puts you at ease when you are a first timer. What is great about her is that she walks you through what she is doing so I felt completely relaxed in her care. Wendi and Jody. Ladies.... Like HONESTLY. It doesn't get any better than these two. These massage therapists are better than most I have experienced in San Diego. I will be coming to these two far after my treatment is over. They take amazing care to help heal injuries and just make you feel comfortable in their care. Whatever magic they do.. I had a bad back for years and the pain was stopping me from living a normal life. Michelle is great and will work with you to get the results you need. Heal by Hand is wonderful. It's easy to book appointments, and if you have any questions regarding insurance coverage or treatments, they promptly follow up with you. The atmosphere is very calm, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.I initially saw Dr. Michelle for back and upper thigh pain. She was attentive, thorough, and didn't try to upsell me on services I didn't need. Instead, she told me to return on an as-needed basis. Within 3 visits, I was pain-free and far more mobile. I was in town on business, and woke up the second morning with an awful headache stemming from tension in my neck. My first thought was to find a massage therapist, but I saw the reviews here and decided I had to give it a shot. Those 5 stars are well-deserved. She rolled out some of the tension with a roller before the adjustment, and she got all the points during the adjustment. It was fantastic! She was gentle, yet "authoritative" with the adjustment. Based on all of the other reviews, you can tell this is the place to be.  I was referred by a co-worker and the place is so close to my house in Old Scripps.  I won't bore you with it, but this place is simply fantastic. When someone wrote Dr. Michelle is like "a little ninja" that cracked me up because it's so true.  I'm 6'3" and 250lbs and she handles my back/body no problem.  All 100 lbs of her. I threw my back out right before Valentine's Day, which, last year was on a Saturday. I got chiropractic care but my back was in complete spasm and wouldn't stop and I could find NO WHERE that could give me a massage that day (after all, it WAS Valentine's Day! I'm 32 years, have two kids (with one on the way), and road/mountain bike, and run a lot.  On top of that, I sit at a computer (though my desk converts to a standing desk) all day for work, and sit in my car commuting for nearly two hours a day.  I had NEVER been to a Chiropractor in my life, so needless to say my back needs a lot of TLC.  Found Dr. Michelle Leach through Yelp, of course, and decided to try out her services because I have FSA money I need to spend anyway.  Dr. Michelle was super friendly and informative.  On top of the treatment I received (which was great and I'll be visiting several more times), she gave me a bunch of pro tips on stretching techniques that I can do on my own time that should help with a lot of the tightness in my back.  After my appointment, I walked out of her office already feeling a little bit more flexible and relaxed.  Can't wait to come back next week. I came here for a work based back injury. I was immediately treated with the highest quality of care. I received massages from both massage therapists and was seen by Michelle for my chiropractor care. I went for 6 visits, and while my injury was extensive, within one visit the intensity of my pain decreased substantially. I was in serious lower back pain, through my friends advice, i decided to Yelp on which acupuncture place in my area that would really help me heal. I've never experience acupuncture before so I have no idea on what to expect, except from the scary needles. The people who worked here really took care of me! From the reception to the person who did the acupuncture and Dr Michelle. You guys are awesome! I'm telling you, i was just there yesterday, and today, I'm pain free!!!! Well, I still have a lil bit of pain which, obviously it won't heal right away but now, i can bend, jump, twist.. My lower back felt so much wayyy so much better. I'm going back for more treatment. Awesome 1st visit at this place and I've already gotten pain relief! Note: I have a long history of acupuncture treatments with great results within a few days usually. Kara was gentle and the cupping afterwards was over the top! I haven't had that done in a long long time!  My appointment was scheduled at lunch and it took an hour, just as the receptionist explained. I have not had chiropractic care with Dr. Michelle yet, but based on just meeting her and the Yelp reviews, I'm sure she's awesome and I can't wait for my first adjustment here! I came here when I hurt my back after being too aggressive during a kettle bell class (word to the wise- don't grab the 15lb kettle bell your first time).  I saw Michelle for my adjustments and she was so helpful and put me at ease.  I am not someone who is super comfortable with adjustment but she made sure the sessions were stress free.  Everyone in the office is very friendly too.  I'm happy to say after four sessions I'm pain free!
