First time visiting this gem right across from Niagara Falls Memorial. The scrumptious smell filled the air so had to venture in. My husband and I had the cheeseburger special. Don't let the affordable prices on the menu fool you. The food here is gourmet; and the portion, generous.

My family found this place via a random google search based on proximity and avg. number of stars, so we didn't know what to expect.

We stepped in, and we were welcomed by the owner who probably had the biggest heart that I've recently met. The owner and his wife, who both cook, have catered food for years before opening the restaurant here relatively recently.

We shared BBQ pork ribs with coleslaw and mac & cheese, and a cheese burger with fries.

Cheese burger at first appeared interesting. It was just a patty with cheese between buns that looked like ciabatta bread, and nothing else. I took a bite, and I understood. The presentation accentuates the taste of the patty that the owner makes it himself here.

The sauce for BBQ ribs was, how should I say, perfectly balanced in tangy, sweet, salty and smoky tastes. My wife thought the meat was too dry when in fact it was nicely slow-cooked in a smoker. You taste the coleslaw, you've never tasted coleslaw like the one here. Mac&cheese was also good.

My wife and I weren't hungry to begin with, and the food was still tasty to both us and our 2 peculiar kids. The portion was more than enough for all of us.

Overall, it is difficult to experience such well-balanced tasting food elsewhere. Nothing is overpowering. The ingredients are cooked to the adequate doneness to optimally bring out the tastes. These guys know how to cook. They are, however, chefs, and not restaurant managers, so the service here will feel more like friends' hospitality than corporate-America restaurants. More...
