Hanna Mazur, Hair and Makeup Artist

I decided to hire a makeup and hair specialist at the behest of my very practical, sarcastic, down-to-earth friend who regretted only one thing about her wedding, and that was doing her own makeup. I don't know much about makeup. I wear eyeliner on a daily basis because I don't have eyelashes and wearing black eyeliner on my upper lids makes me feel closer to normal-looking. Once a year or so, I pretend to know what I'm doing with eye shadow and lipstick. My hair is in a ponytail 29 days out of every month... my idea of going fancy is when I put it in a braid. I decided to find a pro.

I went online for reviews of Seattle-area makeup artists, anticipating at least a few stories laced with high drama, maybe a whiny-toned tale of lipstick that didn't match the third wedding color or a single flyaway hair that ruined the perfect photo. The happy and satisfied brides who reported on Hanna's business reflected zero drama. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of entertainment, but also encouraged. I waffled for a couple of days and then sent her an email. She responded within a day or two, apologized for already being committed to another wedding on the day I would need her, and connected me to one of her partners, Claire. We made a date for a trial session, and Claire shared her Pinterest board with me to give me some ideas for hair and makeup. I have to emphasize that these two women are so genuinely good at what they do that they can make you feel gorgeous through email, which is hard to do without sounding phony or shallow. I was impressed from the beginning by their bedside manner, and they both gave me total confidence that they would work with me, not just on me, when figuring out my wedding day face and hair.

I had a blast throughout the whole experience. I think the whole hair and makeup process took about 2 or 2.5 hours each time, but I barely noticed. Claire is whip-smart, genuine, and a professional artist in every sense. I trusted her immediately.

Claire tackled the issue of my non-existent eyelashes and patchy eyebrows with total confidence and sensitivity. I am extremely self-conscious about them and really don't leave the house without eyeliner or filling my brows in. She took great pains and pride to apply fake lashes so that they felt natural, comfortable, and lovely, and she very astutely asked me if I'd prefer to do my own eyebrows. In the end, I liked the way that she did them better, fuller and truer to their natural growth pattern, so that's how we rolled on the day of the wedding.

I was so excited to share about the makeup that I haven't mentioned the hair. Claire merged two hairstyles that I liked into one that worked for the length and texture of my locks. Plus, she was easily able to add a few cloth blossoms that I bought after the trial session. The wedding involved a lot of lawn games and dancing. Throughout, the hair was bulletproof, but in the softest-looking and lightest-feeling way possible.

My daughter is a tomboy and totally not comfortable with a lot of hubub. Hanna was so easy going and kind to her during the process of getting ready for her wedding. I hired Hanna to do my makeup for my wedding. She was so friendly beforehand and made me feel so comfortable. For my trial, my mom and 2 sisters came with me. My little sister was so interested and Hannah was so sweet to her and answered her questions. Where to even begin?! I had nothing but a positive experience working with Hanna - from first initial contact, through getting ready for my wedding.
When I first reached out, she responded within an hour. I was extremely impressed as I had reached out to a few other beauty vendors and hadn't heard back from several for over two weeks. She was warm, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the whole process.
She came to my house for a trial and everything went smoothly. I loved the look and we worked it through together to achieve my vision. She put in what seemed like a pound of hair extensions and they looked gorgeous and natural and were blended perfectly with my hair.
On my wedding day she brought one of her employees - and together the two of them did the hair and makeup for my entire wedding party! What's more, Hanna stayed extra long to do touch ups and fixes on some of the girls, and even did my mom's makeup as a bonus free of charge!
Seriously - work with this woman. You will be at ease and look beautiful. Can't say enough good things. Will hopefully be seeing her again soon! More...

Hannah was simply amazing to work with!!!! I hired her to do my sister's makeup for her wedding along with several other girls. She was warm, flexible, reliable with her communication and, most importantly - very on time!!!!

I ended up doing up own makeup but got lashes put on at a salon. One of the lashes came loose about 10 minutes before we were supposed to start taking pictures. Hannah swooped in and put new lashes on me, as well as applying gorgeous eye makeup. She totally saved the day! (Not to mention she refused to let me pay her - she did it out of the kindness of her heart.)

The most amazing Hair and Make-Up artist I've ever experienced! Hands Down. This woman works magic with a blush brush! We put the pressure on her for my Bachlorette party and only gave her 45 min to pull it all together. She rocked it and I looked fabulous! Hanna is the sweetest person I've ever worked with as well. Highly recommended! Hannah is a calm, sweet, highly skilled professional. I hired her to do my wedding hair and makeup and she listened to my concerns and did an amazing job. Booking Hanna for my wedding was one of the BEST decisions I made! Every part of working with Hanna was a great experience - from the initial consultations to the trial run to the actual wedding day! I couldn't be happier with my hair and makeup on my wedding day - it was exactly what I wanted and my makeup and loose curls lasted perfectly all day/night.

Hanna is an extremely talented makeup artist and can work wonders with hair, but almost more importantly during the stressful months leading up to the wedding, she is responsive, professional and a sweet, calming presence. Hanna is exactly the person you want around you when you are preparing for your big day!

Hanna was also a great choice for me since I wanted my mom, mother in law and sister-in-law to get their hair and makeup done. She works equally well with more mature women who do not want to look overly made up and with younger ladies who want a more dramatic look! Also, my mom was very concerned that her thinner hair would not hold up for the entire wedding day, but Hanna quickly changed her short hair to a chic half-updo that lasted well into the night (my mom and I even look perfect in the pics from the after party!).

Many of Hanna's reviews say that she is great with working with people who are not used to wearing makeup - and that is absolutely true, but she is also a great pick for someone (like me) who loves wearing makeup (I wear makeup everyday) and wants a sophisticated look that will photograph well for their special day.

Honestly, Hanna was on the more expensive side of makeup artists I was considering, but she was worth every penny and I have always been so happy with my decision to work with Hanna! More...

I requested a make-up lesson from Hanna and I am beyond thrilled with the results. I’m a busy career-oriented woman and I just found that I never had the proper instruction on how to select the correct foundation color, accentuate my eyes, and go from day to night makeup with ease. I’m always in a rush in the morning and needed to have the right balance of quick, easy, and put-together for my daily look. Hanna and I went through my daily skin care routine, looked at all the makeup that I had in my collection and she gave me great feedback on how to utilize what I already had and what products and tools to supplement with. We went through each step and she showed me tons of time-saving tricks and short cuts. The next day, she sent me a full set of notes with all of the products that I loved and other money saving options. All the while we had great laughs and conversation. Hanna was amazing! Just one meeting with her, a few phone calls and emails, and it was as if we were best of friends. There was some family drama and she handled it was grace and didn't make me feel bad or stressed. .. a true joy to work with.

My hair was EXACTLY what I wanted, which was surprising since before we did the trial I only had a vague idea of what I wanted. My makeup was also perfect, simple... and me. I don't normally wear makeup and most of the time my hair is just in a ponytail, but on my wedding day... it was perfect.

I highly recommend a trial session!!! It allows you to have the time to talk about your styling, concerns and expectations. Furthermore, it gives you the time to think and to make changes if necessary.

Hanna’s make up and hair products are high quality and give an amazing result. She has everything you’ll need for a perfect style on your perfect day.

Hanna was so kind to my elderly mom and my young stepdaughter for our wedding, and everyone looked wonderful. I so appreciate how well she understood what everyone wanted and needed for the wedding, and how she used light makeup for a natural look.
