Joining the workout challenge with Manuel I never thought that I would have gotten so much out of a month. Training for that month has been a life-changing experience for me.
Before working out with Manuel I have been struggling with sciatica for a while. Manuel not only assesses me for any medical condition that prevents me from working out to my full potential but works with me to minimize any back pain while strengthening my core. He really helped me to put things into perspective when it comes to getting results. Working with Manuel helps me understand my physical limits while getting great outcomes. Manuel is not only good at his job as a personal trainer but is an extremely compassionate and kind person.
Most importantly I love how he incorporates spirituality within his workout. I recommend Manuel highly.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
We start with finding out what you like and don't like. Any fears or worries about exercising? We address them before moving forward. We address your diet, sleep habits, and daily habits, and then write out a "rough draft" for your fitness plan. We want you to walk away from your time with us as educated, empowered, and informed as to how to work out occasionally on your own outside of our help, ultimately getting to the end point of you suggesting what you would like to do that day, even setting new goals!
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Patience and persistence. By doing something every day to improve your attitude towards your health, you inch your way towards your goal. Than suddenly, without you even noticing it, you've lost weight, put on some muscle, and even walk with your head higher. Some of my clients actually get a few centimeters taller!
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing my people getting happier and happier about their bodies and improving in their attitudes towards themselves. I love helping people become their best!
What inspired you to start your own business?
To be honest, after over 27 years of doing this, I almost forget! I started doing this following the footsteps of my Shihan (Martial Arts School Founder), incorporating a community sense to teach and enlighten people to have healthy habits that would keep them out of trouble in my 'hood. I've seen so many lives affected positively and I wouldn't change it for the world!!!

At Hamaca Fitness, our goal is to create attainable goals and sustainable habits using our Five "R" system: Recovery, Reset, Regenerate, Restructure, and Reignite! We start by teaching you how to heal through movement, with the end-result being to gain a "fired up!" attitude towards your day. Yes, I do Zoom sessions and we can also document your sessions by recording your daily routine so you can review your form and see your improvements.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We, of course, implemented the Zoom virtual platform, but we also drive from location to location to avoid exposure in the New York public transportation system.

Using corrective cues and exercises spliced with the power six movements (Squats, Deadlifts, Bench, Pullups, Overhead Press), we cover all the spaces and gaps that may need to be filled to give you a complete workout foundation!
Mobility and flexibility
Using a blend of Eastern and Western techniques, we help you find your physical center and get better movement for better exercise technique!
