Kaylee did an amazing job on my hair today! I travel extensively for work and find myself overdo for hair cut and color constantly.  I ended up in Durham just for a weekend for work and found Poppy Salon. I am so excited I did. This is hands down the best salon in town, in the state... and I’d go so far as to say would easily compete with NY salons! I call NC my home, but I’ve lived in Atlanta, NY, and Philly.... and every time I keep coming back to Shannon.... She holds herself, her staff, and her salon to the highest standards. I’m incredibly picky about my hair, and who I let color and cut it, but who isn’t?!?! I’ve been coming to Shannon for years before she opened her salon, and she’s always managed to impress me, and outdo herself time and time again. Over the years, she’s colored my hair from blonde, to red, to blue to my most current purple and I always get compliments. And her cuts are flattering and make me feel beautiful! Serious about Hair!! Super friendly, happy place...very busy, but there's good reason! The stylists are all very serious about a most important thing. ..our HAIR!! And we all know, just how vital that is when we pay our hard-earned money for beauty. I went for the first time and could not be more pleased with the full attention Giselle gave to me for my highlights and cut. She listened, looked at photos I brought and was very confident she knew what to do...and Voila! just what I asked for both cut and color. I've been using Poppy Salon for about 2 years now, and have been thrilled with every experience I've had here. For the last year, I have used Ki as my stylist, and I absolutely LOVE her work. The team at Poppy is professional and kind, and they make you feel like a friend as soon as you walk in. Madison did an amazing job transforming my hair! She was friendly and asked me what I wanted before bleaching and cutting to make sure she was doing what I wanted. She nailed the pictures I showed her.The salon itself was a nice environment and the staff continued to ask me if I needed anything to drink throughout the visit. Ki is literally my hair stylist soulmate. She is the one hair stylist I have been waiting my whole life to find. I just went there for the first time and I am in love! Shannon was incredible. She spent a long time talking through what I wanted and was absolutely on board with getting there! Part of why I left the salon I’ve been going to for years is that I felt my stylist stopped listening to me; the prices were also getting so high I couldn’t go regularly for my color. Poppy Salon is really reasonable price-wise; they didn’t try to push products I don’t need; and Shannon gave several suggestions about how to prolong my color so I don’t have to return so often! AMAZING PLACE WITH AMAZING PEOPLE!I got a balayage with a haircut today and it turned out amazing. Madison, my stylist, sat and listened to what I wanted and helped me with what went best with my hair. They were so friendly (Sarah at the front desk was so kind too, made me feel welcomed right away!). I will admit I was a bit scared to do something different (virgin hair) but felt so at ease with the ladies at poppy salon. Price was very reasonable for the coloring +cut (around $150). Poppy Salon is the best salon in Chapel Hill/Durham by far. I have been bouncing around trying to find the perfect haircut in the area for the past 7 years. This place is it! I bought gift cards as stocking stuffers to poppy salon for the women in my family and they all love the place. Every stylist here is good at what they do! They are all friendly and fun to talk to. The owner greets you with a smile and a quick hello as soon as you walk in. I was a walk-in on my first visit, they were busy, she made it happen for me. Great hospitality! You need to pop in to Poppy Salon (no pun intended) but make an appointment so you're guaranteed a service of your choice since the stylists are always busy. The atmosphere is fun and friendly.
