I found Hair By Julianne on yelp after looking for a place in Los Angeles that will do a digital perm. I had one two years ago and wanted the results closer to loose body curls vs. beachy waves. Jimin was attentive and listened to my needs. Her patience and attention to detail resulted in loose body curls. I asked her lots of questions and she took the time to explain to me how to take care of my new digital perm to achieve the results I wanted without all the maintenance I was doing with my first digital perm.The process took about 4 hours. After a haircut and shampoo, Jimin and her assistant, also very nice and friendly, treated my hair, first the top of my head, then the bottom of my head. After the treatment, they washed my hair and put my hair in curlers. After a few minutes under the machine, she recurled my hair in regular rollers to put the neutralizer to set the curl.Once that was done, they styled my hair and taught me how to do it at home myself.The salon is bright and clean and the staff is very friendly. I had a horrible balayage from "balayage by Gigi salon" In Fairfax and Jimin Yang came to the rescue and SAVED MY HAIR. I walked in with yellow dry streaks running through the top of my head. My hair looked like a hay stack. Jimin knew exactly what to do and brought my hair back to a natural black to brown balayage. She also gave me super great advice on how to maintain my hair that Gigi from the other salon was completely clueless on. I came with virgin black hair and got balayage done with Jihye and she was amazing! I got ash brunette balayage with some violet color and it came out great. I asked for it to start higher closer to my roots so I can grow it out naturally and she did exactly that. She paid close attention to the color I wanted! Jihye did an amazing job on my hair! I had about 5 months of grow out from my last balayage and it had turned bronzy. I hadn't had time to get my hair fixed, so there was maybe about 6 inches of virgin hair in addition to my already bleached hair. Now it's a gorgeous silver! Love love love my hair!! I came in with a previous botched coloring and my blonde was more brassy and orange. Jihye saved the day! All I did was bring a picture and she knew exactly what to do. We didn't have to do the long discussion (which I love). She is all about perfection and small details. I told her I wanted texture and that's exactly what she did. i found julianne on yelp and came in to get a cut and color correct/balayage. 6 months prior, i'd gone to someone else for ash balayage but it came out rather orange. i showed her pictures of what i wanted - an ashier blonde-brown. it took almost 9 hours, but i was very happy with the results. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with such a welcoming and amazing team here! Jihye was soo incredible - she explained everything she was doing, was so patient, and got my hair exactly the way I wanted it. I really appreciated how many times she checked in with me to make sure that the color and toning was what I had in mind. This is so amazing! My hair was natural black(really really black) and never dyed before. And I got this beautiful hair color back home. I also chose Olaplex, and my hair was done without any damaged. Here has a very great service and very professional on their color work. it's really hard getting my fussy asian hair to do anything - and since i wanted to go super dramatic with my hair, i wanted someone who worked with that type of hair all the time. i honestly lucked out with julianne; she turned my dyed brown hair to ash blonde in like, 8 hours with no noticeable damage; in fact after the treatment, my hair was ridiculously manageable and soft, something it rarely ever is (olaplex, where have you been my entire life?!). the transition from my roots to the lighter hair was so natural looking as a total testament to her painting skills. her team is great and super attentive, as it took some babysitting to make sure my hair didn't fry off.  super recommend! I found this place while scrolling through yelp looking for a salon in the LA area and I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. Interior is super cute and decors are amazing. I decided to post a yelp review this time around because I fell in love with the results styled by JIHYE. I got ash sand brown and it's so beautiful. She was careful and gentle to my super fine hair. Educated me on how to take care of it for long lasting results. Definitely going to book future appointments with her. I got my hair done ash blonde/silverish balayage and cut into layers back in January and I remember telling them that as long as it grew out good then I was happy! Well it's August and my black hair is really growing out so I might make an appointment in the next month or 2. But it still looks good! I found a new hair home!!! Here you'll find stylists that understand coloring and treatment for Asian hair. Most other salons I've been to have left me with a brassy coloring job and have told me that an ash blonde isn't achievable with my natural dark black brown hair color.
