Just picked up my engagement ring from getting resized literally 10 minutes ago and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve been engaged for many years and my wedding is only 4 days away. My ring had taken some serious damage and the coloring did not match my wedding band. They resized and plated the ring to match and it looks better than it did when he bought it! Pickup day was one day later than originally quoted but they gave me plenty of notice so I didn’t mind at all. I know many people who have used this store and all rave about it. We had an excellent experience here. We got a new stone with a new setting put into my wife's favorite ring. The stone was from GVS, and all the work was done by the excellent husband and wife team that own the store. We've now had the ring for a few months, and she's very happy with the quality of the stone and the workmanship. Their customer service was excellent, and the store is bright, clean and well stocked. Couple months ago I was hunting for an engagement ring. I was looking online and then I found this GVS jewelers websight. I wanted it locally so I came to this store and I immediately felt welcomed . The staff is so nice and friendly. I am so happy that I came here to get my engagement ring. I appreciated the personal attention, interest and time that Vladimir and his wife spent with we, and that they were genuinely interested to work on my design, making suggestions on how to both make it unique and beautiful. GVS Jewelers is a wonderful, locally owned location in Belmont MA. I've visited them twice for ring repair and a "wow-factor" cleaning of my wife's wedding bands. What separates GVS from other "Big Jewelers" in shopping malls is the owner Vladimir. After hearing good reviews, I reached out to this jeweller to have a ring appraised. Pleasant conversation with the wife's owner, and an appointment was scheduled. Upon entering the shop, I was greeted warmly by the owner, Vladimir. I explained to him my reason for the appointment, and he started the process of measuring and recording all pertinent information regarding the ring. The entire process was professional and pleasant. I am so grateful that I brought my engagement ring to GVS. For the past 3 years the diamond would rotate in the head of the ring, and other jewelers had "fixed" it by tightening the head. Vladimir, however, fixed the root of the problem and showed me that one of the prongs was actually broken and I could've lost the diamond altogether. He did a beautiful job installing a new head, and even upgraded it from white gold to platinum. The ring looks as beautiful as ever, and the diamond is the most secure it has ever been. I bought her ring there in the summer of 2012. And I was more than happy to have bought it there at GVS. The service was impeccable. If you want to know more about the story, keep reading. I did my rounds from store to store, which included GVS, to get more educated on the diamonds. Once I felt I was beginning to know what I waslooking at in a diamond, I decided to give GVS a chance. About selecting the diamond and setting: The man who helped me obviously knew about diamond rings, knew what how to learn about me and my fiancee (through casual conversion and animated anecdotes), and finally knew exactly the diamond and setting I was looking for. About the service: As previously mentioned, the service was impeccable. The diamond I selected was set in another ring, which was not a setting that suited my tastes for my expecting girlfriend. The man helped me select a setting through a catalog to have delivered and set in time for my quickly approaching proposal weekend. He bent over backwards to make sure that I was happy with the ring and doing business. Something special: In case the fact isn't clear, I was proposing to my girl before we had ever gone to look at rings. So, I didn't know what size ring to get. The man knew the size of the ring to get my girl. I was amazed when I put the ring on her finger and how perfectly it fit. No refitting necessary. Truly outstanding. It's almost a magic trick. I am thrilled to have found a great jeweler! Vladimir is talented and creative and skilled. I did not want to bring my favorite treasures to chain-mall repair techs, I wanted a professional craftsman and that's what I found, thanks to all of the reviewers here. One item that I brought to him was a name-plate necklace that has sentimental value and I still wear all the time. I didn't like how it would always hang off-center, and Vladimir pointed out that it was because the name-plate was fixed on the chain at both ends instead of being on a slide. So, he soldered little loops on the back and rejoined the chain into a whole piece. The name always sits at center now and his welds were soo tiny and neat that the whole piece looks beautiful.
