I work many longs hours as a manager of a restaurant and have very little time to maintain/pamper myself. It has been years since I've colored or styled my hair and so I went on a search for a salon nearby that I could count on for results. I decided on Guys and Dolls after seeing all the great reviews and feeling confident that I'd get great service. I can happily say my expectations were well exceeded! After calling for a last minute appointment, Jonathan was able to get me in within the hour and was super helpful and friendly. There's a comfy lounge in the front and further in there's refreshments and yummy snacks available, as well as space for family or friends to hang out next to you while they wait. My appointment was with Dara, and I had bayalange highlights done. This had the potential of being a lengthy treatment but Dara was a superstar! We had such a blast that it didn't feel long at all and she was so friendly and accomadating! She listened to my needs and gave me helpful tips.  She was also quick without compromising the quality of her work and I'd happily recommend her and the business to family and friends! This is a wonderful small business with the highest standards of service and a fun and amazingly talented team. My hair looks beautiful and it was worth every penny! I'm not sure where to start. How about 10 out of 10!!!!!Moved to Florida a little over a year ago. I found a stylist who was good but unfortunately, he just couldn't seem to accomplish what I was looking for. I felt I'd had enough haircuts to decide that he wasn't "my" stylist and set out to find another.I'm originally from Philly and lived in PA my entire life until a little over a year ago.So, I've had access to plenty of high end, expensive salons. My brother is a Master Stylist in Philly as well so I've been taught a lot about how hair styling works. There really is an art to it. Some things cannot be done due to over processed, fired hair. I've seen people who expect a stylist to perform miracles and then get mad when they get realistic instead.I stopped into Guys & Dolls in person hoping that I'd be able to talk to a stylist about some of the issues with my own hair. Upon moving to Florida, I decided to go blonde. My hair is DARK RED. I knew what I needed to do to achieve that and I've helped friends to do certain bleaching in their homes with  full success. Unfortunately, the same methods applied to my own hair without any assistance resulted in FRIED hair. I had a long, DARK RED, below the shoulder hair and bleaching it friend it and broke it all off.So when I went to Guys& Dolls, I was several months out of that disaster but still under repair. I sat down with Dara and she took a long time to listen, to look at photos of how my hair looked before, and she could easily see what I'd done to it. I wasn't expecting miracles but I just wanted my hair to be cut and shaped while I was still healing my hair.I also wanted someone who could cut my BANGS how I liked them done. I do not like straight across the forehead fringe. And I hate when my hair is in my eyes or sits on my glasses. I've shown plenty of photos of myself with the bangs how I like them. Some stylists simply won't listen and they won't cut them correctly. But Dara? Well, she kicked ass in the consultation! She could have taken me in her chair that day but she made no push whatsoever to make me choose that day. Even cooler? If there's a stylist that thinks someone else can meet your needed better than they can, they will have you sit and talk with them as well and let you decide. They have no issue with  clients seeing another stylist in the salon. It's actually not a bad idea since eventually, your stylist WILL be on vacation when you need a haircut or whatever.So I scheduled myself and my husband for an appointment with Dara for the Saturday immediately following the consultation.Not only did she cut everything how I wanted it, she showed me several ways to style my hair other than the regular blowout because I have issues keeping my arms raised. I've tried all the techniques she showed me in the last month and I've gotten some great styles. I went on a cruise and had to curl my hair for dinners and formal nights. Fantastic!The plan is to get my hair back to the long, lush dark red it was before. My husband has to do his review too but he's been gushing about his haircut being exactly what he wanted for a month straight.Last, I like the name of the place. I love this Salon they are so accommodating. I had an appointment for hair color and blow dry and decided to get a haircut. My hairdresser John was  able to accommodate me even with his busy schedule. The owner Johnathan came over so politely to say we are gonna give you a free conditioning treatment while you wait for your extra service you added because there will be a little wait in between .... So impressed with this cute, clean and friendly salon. Found it on internet. My mom had such a wonderful experience that I decided to also get my hair done. Got my hair highlighted, cut and styled for first time in 5 years. I’m one of those people that are very skeptical and nervous about getting my hair done and trusting someone. I am new in town. Simply googled best hair salons nw near me and Guys And Dolls came up. I called to set an appointment 2 days before Thanksgiving and was so happy when Jonathan told me " come on by we will get you in". ( most salons probably would have told a total stranger Nothing till after the holiday) But not Jonathan! I cruised over and got in a chair within 15 minutes. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere and I felt very at home. Victoria did a color and cut for me in about 90 minutes!, I loved the cut and the color both I mentioned to her how great she did and then she told me it was her first day at this salon!, I said wel congratulations you have your first regular customer!, I highly reccomend this salon if your into reasonable prices and great color and cut by Victoria. The other stylist seemed very good too and I watched them all working together ( refreshing in a beauty salon,not any cut throat that's my customer vibes AT ALL). Amazing! Seriously, from the consultation alone, I knew I was in good hands. They don’t just duplicate haircuts. You’re sat down and asked what you want and they tell you how they can achieve your goal with your own features and facial structure. I was also super wary to dye my hair from such a dark, black color to blonde, but Annmarie took her time and walked me through the steps to end up with the best haircut and color I have ever had WITH a simple, low-key maintenance plan to match my busy schedule. The owner greets you in a warm and friendly way. He is most helpful and accommodating. You can tell that he takes great pride in his business, his staff and his clients. This has to be Florida's #1 hairdresser. I really feel I struck gold finding this place. Jonathan, the owner, is delightful and my stylist, Raquel, was outstanding. I was having hair extensions replaced and colour matched. These had originally been done in London's premier extension salon but, honestly, Raqual was so much better. Her attention to detail was incredible. She colour matched perfectly, fitted the hair seamlessly and she has the patience of a saint. Nothing was too much trouble. I stumbled upon Guys & Dolls hair salon after receiving a Groupon for a keratin treatment. I was blown away from the very first moment when I called to make my appointment. The gentleman who answered (who I later found out to be one of the owners), couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating (as he got me in that afternoon) or more thorough. I have had this treatment done about a half a dozen times in my life and I have never been asked anything more than "when would you like to come in?". This gentleman asked me when was the last time I had it done, do I color treat my hair and if so, when was the last time, what length, is my hair thick or thin etc etc. I already felt I was in the hands of a professional before I even stepped foot in the salon itself. When I arrived about 30 minutes later, I was greeted with a friendly and very welcoming hello and was introduced to their fur-baby and salon regular, Dexter, an adorable Westley? Terrier who couldn't not have been cuter or more attentive. When my stylist, Maryanne, greeted me just moments later, she introduced herself, welcomed me and lead me to her station. Maryanne asked me a multitude of questions ranging from hair history, products I use and it's current condition, explaining that they have about 5 different keratin treatments that they offer and she needed to confirm which was best suited for my hair specifically. As she continued through the application process she walked me through each step, explaining what she was applying and what part it played in the final result. Like myself, Maryanne is a perfectionist- she is very thorough, knowledgeable, and seems to have a genuine interest and concern for your hair's wellbeing. In addition to her impressive range of knowledge in the field, she has this great no BS mentality, she's not there to upsell you or push you into unnecessary products or treatments, she's an open book and a breath of fresh air. The moment I sat in Maryanne's chair, I knew I was in great hands. I couldn't be happier that I stumbled upon this hidden gem- I will definitely be back and would recommend them to anyone looking for a salon in the Ft. Lauderdale area full of friendly professionals. BEST PLACE!This place was a life saver!! I wanted my hair brown with highlights and i went to another salon that turned my hair pitch black! I literally called crying last Saturday and they took me in right away RAQUAL has God’s hands, she knows her colors and she is so sweet and amicable, she transformed me into a golden barbie in two sessions and she didnt even charged me the actual price because I couldn’t afford to pay the repair for the damaged that was previously made so she cut me a deal and not only she made me feel pretty again but she definitely gained a new customer for life, Betty the assistant is adorable always offering anything you need and the owner Jonathan is the best hype man! Fairly new to Florida one year, I have been through a few Hair Salons. Most were not good experiences or priced way out of line. I am from New Jersey and have been to many high end Salons in Manhattan which I love..I called Guys and Dolls and I was given a warm response and directions how to get there.My hair is extremely resistant to dye and the roots are hard to cover without turning the hair Black and my hair is brown.The owner Francisco and Betty took their time evaluating my hair and with patience and time we got to the exact place I wanted to be.Rather then getting mad at me for having tough hair to cover.They were simply professional and wonderful. Got my hair cut by Kat last year and absolutely loved it! Decided to go to another hair salon recommended by a friend months later and hated my hair cut! Today I went back here and showed Kat the hairstyle I wanted and she delivered! I love that she took her time and gave me tips on how to keep my hair looking good and healthy. Just got my hair did by Roger today and I love my new spiked pixie! I'm an ex-stylist and usually do my own hair. When I feel its beyond my skillset, I come here. I've been to only 2 salons in the 15 years I've lived here, and this is one of them. I don't have a favorite stylist quite yet because I think they are all super talented. 3 have given me excellent service: Roger, Kat and (I hope I remember her name correctly) Kristen. I just call when I need a cut and don't ask for anyone in particular and I come out with a beautiful style each time. I like the surprise effect that way - I feel like these stylists are all artists in their own right, and as an artist myself, I like giving them free reign to be creative. It says a lot about this place that I can walk in, have anyone take care of me, and walk out happy. I love coming here because the people are so nice. The salon itself is unpretentious and funky. It’s a bit like going back in time to the cool part of the 80s. I like Dexter the silver dog and the science books on the coffee table. I like the music, treats, happy vibe and thrift shop decor. The thing I love most about this salon is ALL of the stylist are talented and specialized. I just had my hair styled for the second time with Kat at Guys and Dolls and am very pleased — my cut and highlights look fantastic. Kat’s a very good, attentive stylist AND a very nice person, too. She’s hard-working, a real pro and goes above and beyond, even in her explanation of how she’s approaching your haircut or color or in how to blow dry your hair to make the most of your great new style. Overall, Guys and Dolls is a nice, unpretentious salon with a relaxed vibe and good service.
