I ordered the Fried Lobster ravioli as an appetizer. Out of all the things that I ordered, this was the best seasoned and it was actually pretty good. Never had anything like it. For my meal, I ordered the Special Jambalaya. Did not like it at all. It was watery and was rather bland. Definitely not what I'm used to when it comes to Jambalaya. My two sides were greenbeans and cheesy grits and they were just as disappointing. Bland as well. My service was good and the atmosphere was pretty neat. Restaurant could be much cleaner especially the bathroom. Service was decent but unorganized, food was horrible. For a Cajun restaurant, the fried shrimp lacked flavor and the lobster/scallop/shrimp ravioli was tasteless and I would rate it store bought. I came in an hour before close. No one made us feel like we were inconveniencing them by coming in so close to closing time. Everyone was inviting. Our server was amazing! The food was equally as good. Fried flounder was amazing. Gumbo was amazing. Worth every bit of it. This is the cleanest dining room I have seen in a long time. We came here to try something new!! Wow! Our server was Ross, and he was amazing! We told him that this was our first time and he brought us samples! They were great! My boyfriend got the catfish and shrimp dinner with red beans and rice and hush puppies!! I ordered the lobster and shrimp pasta! It came with Caesar salad and garlic toast!! Ross did not tell us how big the servings were and we had to take some home! The atmosphere was great like in New Orleans and Mardi gras! They were packed and seemed short on staff the night we went. The one server covering our and several other tables was working her best to take care of everyone for sure. One jambalaya entree came out completely cold and that made it super awkward for the already very busy server. She took it away and had a fresh one made for us to take home at no charge. The food was decent enough. The lobster bisque was outstanding, as advertised. The corn bread was fantastic, award winning! The hush puppies were pretty bland. First time I ordered food to go, things were flawless. Food was fair (not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly as good as I could do myself). Second time I went, I dined in at the bar, service was lacking a lot. Food was as expected (fair). Third time I ordered takeout, service was the best it’s been, but there was a 10% take out fee (for to-go containers and silverware, explained the waitress). Welp. Not only was my pasta put in aluminum foil (guess the fee pays for Five Guys packaging), but the shrimp was so over cooked on my Alfredo that I couldn’t tell if the shells were on or not. I will say the Alfredo sauce was very good— but I won’t be ordering again anytime soon. Certainly not taking out— it’s not worth the fee, and at very least I can send back the overcooked shrimp.
