This is a really nice place on the Hill.  It's very clean and classy. We always go for the pizza. Its St. Louis style so you cant go wrong. ..unless you dont like St. Louis style pizza. Ambiance inside - newly decorated and extremely nice plus very enjoyable. Staff - well dressed and professional Waiter - starched white shirt & very efficient. Private event review: I had the pleasure of attending a private event hosted in the back room of the restaurant and my organization and I all had a SPLENDID evening. The planning was smooth, easy, and affordable from what I was told. The two servers who attended to our large group were TOP NOTCH. They were so attentive and were also quick as bartenders as well. The private room setting was very functional. It had its own bar and we had our own fireplace. There was a door that led directly into/from the kitchen so that our servers were able to attend to us quickly once our courses were ready. Our menu for the evening consisted of two types of salads (Caesar and spinach), toasted raviolis (I'm not normally a fan of them but guido's version was very delicious because they were so meaty and full of flavor on the inside), chicken spiedini (very flavorful) with roasted vegetables, gnocchi (it all came out al dente) , and a dessert platter. I thought the food was delicious, especially for pre-fixe style menu/dinner. I will not hesitate to work with guido's if I ever host a private event. More...

These out of towners had spent the entire day site-seeing and were looking for any easy spot to sample St. Louis style pizza.  What we found at Guido's was so much more.  Elegant, friendly service and a lovely table near the fireplace.  Our waiter Tommy was just wonderful, kind and funny and helped us make all the right food choices:  toasted ravioli to start with an amazing chunky marinara dipping sauce, Guidos salad with fabulous house (Italian) vinaigrette and finally a sausage and onion St.Louis style pie with half provel and half mozzarella.  Everything was wonderfully fresh, all the flavors and textures were perfect.  We split a bottle of red wine and had a very memorable St. Louis style evening.  Thanks for a wonderful time. Great classic Italian and Spanish food in a decently classy looking spot on the hill. Although it is moderately upscale the pricing is very reasonable. The menu is split with one side being Italian and the other being Spanish food. I got a pasta with clam sauce dish and it was fantastic. There is also the option to swap the regular pasta for whole wheat or gluten free pasta. The host & hostess/owners don't speak great English, but they are very cute. The food...my god...the food. We started with Manchego which was perfectly sliced and had a fruit gelee. It was an excellent opener. I'd go back just for that appetizer. We both had pasta for dinner- carbonara for him, cavatelli con broccoli for me. Both dishes were outstanding and of particular note, the cream sauce wasn't too cheesy and was perfectly silky. A little added pepper and it was flawless. For dessert we shared a tiramisu and it has replaced the Tap Room Sticky Toffee Pudding as my favorite dessert in St. Louis. Next time you want dessert, go order the tiramisu at Guido's. It's currently 3 hours after dinner and I'm seriously considering eating my leftover pasta RIGHT NOW. I withheld the 5th star because the staff was a little abrupt with the exception of a gentleman I assume to be the owner who was playing the part of a server assistant/busser. Came here again tonight for dinner. The wait was short, everyone was very nice! We started with toasted ravioli appetizer and it was amazing, as always. Out of all of the restaurants on the hill, this one is my favorite! After going to Spain, it was nice to see they were able to add an "authentic" taste to their dishes and somehow combine that with Italian. I recommend the seafood stuffed raviolI, the lamb lollipops & a port wine! More...

Good pizza, pasta dishes and appetizers. We had a fun server, very informative on the menu and quick seating during our most recent visit. I feel many will overlook their pizza and go straight for the pasta but don't sleep on their St. Louis style pizza. This was one of our recent visits for date night and service was exceptional from the minute we walked in the door. WOW, WOW, WOW! We typically go the same restaurant on The Hill, but wound up at Guido's for dinner on a Sunday when all else was closed. I have no clue as to how we hadn't heard about or been to this place before, as it was fantastic! We sat at the bar and had superb, friendly service. We ordered the homemade toasted raviolis to start. Their sauce is unique, with a touch of sweet, but not overbearing my so. We went with the lasagna and seafood pasta dishes for our dinners, both of which turned out to be outstanding.
