Finally had a decent/good experience here. Sat at the bar on a weekday and got good service and good food. My only issue was the margarita. It was far too sweet for my liking. First time in this one. Of course they were packed for Cinco De Mayo, but, my Fiance' was smart & made a reservation online :)No wait whatsoever! ! Our server, William, was excellent! He was very on top of things! Friendly & efficient. Only little snag was some confusion on the promotion they were running for tonight only. It sd online to come in & spend at least $25 & you'll get a $5 gift card twrds your next visit. Well, the waiter asked someone abt it & he said they told him it was only twrds the special app menu. So, we asked again at the end of the meal, and this time he asked the manager on duty, Franciso i think his name was. He quickly rectified the situation by clarifying that it was in fact $25 on Any menu items. So we got the gift card :)Very awesome service & great food! Will definitely be back sometime soon! Where do I even begin with this place. Ok I'll start at the beginning. We walked in through the left stairwell, very spacious and comforting (better than the right stairwell). The big wooden door made me feel at home with its vintage, medieval vibes. The atmosphere on a thirsty Thursday night was second to none as the restaurant was, how the kids say, "slappin'". Right after we sat, Salsa Lady whipped up some of the most delicious and mouth-watering salsa I have ever indulged in. Although this did lead to the 1 issue of the night.Unfortunately, I devoured the first bowl of chips and proceeded to place the empty bowl on the edge of the table -- this is a societal symbol signaling a refill. As 4 employees passed by... no refill was made. The food came out, piping hot, delicious, as was the large mug of negra modelo on tap. The end of the night was met with laughter and a hefty bill as I do think this place is priced a little high for what you get. Everyone in Tucson knows this is a good place to grab some Mexican food. And the margaritas are out of this world. But for someone on a budget there are a lot of places that are more affordable. But I do recommend it.

This is probably one of my favorite mexican restaurants in Tucson. The tableside salsa is a MUST, and Im typically a chimichanga type of gal but I personally love their cheese enchiladas - they STUFF them with cheese which makes it so hard to order anything else.

In Tucson for FS1 football tonight. Stopped in for lunch. I got one thing for lunch and something to go to take back to my hotel. The mixed up the order? We came on a Thursday night and unfortunately the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed or understaffed, as we had to wait quite a time from being seated until our waiter came. After that, attention to our table improved,but it still took longer than usual. We ordered the table side guacamole and salsa which was excellent. We ordered the "top shelf" Margaritas which were very good if a bit on the sweet sided for us but were a good compliment to the meal. I ordered the ground beef Chimi but got the shredded beef, rather than returning the order (another wait) kept it and it was very good, loaded with beef and very tender. This place is fantastic ! It was recommended by our hotel at the La Quinta Inn when we asked for an authentic experience. It is the only Mexican Restaurant in town that has a Salsa maker cart who comes over to your table to make fresh salsa according to your liking .
