We went there just to try something different. My wife ordered the butternut squash ravioli and she said it was the best Italian dish she has ever had. If the service was a little better I would have gave a 5 star. I'm guessing our server was mad because all we didn't order much because I was not hungry and she wasn't going to make a good tip. I always leave 20 to 30 percent for a tip but taking to is wile waking away and rolling your eyes usually doesn't get you a good tip. More...

We had excellent service. Sorry, I am hard of hearing and didn't catch our waitresses name. The best Italian tomato sauce I have ever had. 4 of us came for lunch.  3 adults and a picky 12 yr old.I ordered the B.M.G.T pizza - (1st time) individual one (6 slices)Olive oil, fresh garlic, oregano, mozzarella, gorgonzola & tomatoIt was out of this world.  I love gorgonzola too.  I ate 3 of the slices and brought home the balance.  Guess their delicious bread served while you wait filled me up....butter along with balsamic/oil to dip.  12 yr old had a pepperoni individual and he loved it.....amazing!!  The chopped salad was a hit and the Shrimp Salad was to die for...locally sourced veggies, 3 kinds of shaved cheese with grilled tiger shrimps.  We were all very very satisfied with our selections and had no room for dessert, darn it!!  Sat on the patio to enjoy the weather and people watch.  This is a favorite of mine and love bringing guests knowing they will enjoy.Located in the Carlsbad Village Shopping Ctr.  We all brought doggie bags to munch on later this evening.  You won't be disappointed. I officially have a new favorite restaurant! Gregorio's has such a warm and welcoming charm that it almost feels as if you're dining amongst family. The Manager Joel deserves a plaque on the wall or something, for his above and beyond talent to juggle so many things and continuous ability to be so gracious. Over the years I have enjoyed every experience at Gregorio's! The food never disappoints, all the food! Salads are so delicious, I reccomend the shrimp salad with gorgonzola- so good! Their homemade vinaigrette dressing is the best I've ever tasted. Their eggplant parmigiana is phenomenal! My family and I enjoy sitting on the patio but also love sitting inside, we are fine with either. Very friendly staff, always pleased. I cannot possibly recommend a better Italian dining experience in Carlsbad. The staff are some of the most pleasant people I've ever encountered. The servers are especially fantastic. I am welcomed and treated like royalty upon each and every visit to Gregorios. They are efficient in their craft and bring a whole new meaning to 'service with a smile.' I've never seen anybody carry as many hot plates as they can! Unbelievable! Speaking of hot plates, the food is outstanding. The portions are substantial and are always cooked to perfection. No wonder they've kept the same sauce recipe for over two decades! The beverages are refreshing as well, provided promptly by that hilarious bartender. Bonus points for them being DOG FRIENDLY!!! 11/10 would recommend Gregorios to anyone looking for a fun evening with some quality Italian food. More...

This is probably some of the best Italian in the area. The inside is very small and stuffy but the patio is spacious and beautiful. The service is always very good especially the bartender Joel. The homemade bread is really good and they give you plenty of olive oil and vinegar to go with it. Don't fill up to quickly though! Both the pastas and the pizzas are very good here. Great food, great service, but what really makes a place good is when something goes wrong and how they handle it. After a great meal, our leftovers got accidentally swapped with someone else. I have been here many times and am always happy when I choose to come. Portion size adds value and there is consistently excellent service. One of the very best lasagnas and I love the chopped salad too! Joel is an awesome bartender!!! The owner generously gave all his earnings for years to Boys n Girls club. WOW! It seemed everyone that gave a poor rating was only because of the service, not the food, so I gave it a shot.
