I am a firm believer that God places certain people in our lives and Dr. Travis Smith was one of those people for me. When I first met Dr. Smith I was what I would just consider a “shell.” So many hurtful things had happened, I couldn’t or wouldn’t feel hurt or any emotion anymore. I didn’t know why I was in his office , just that I had a friend insist I go. Slowly and I mean slowly, Dr. Smith helped me become the healthy person I am now (about 5 years later). Just to clarify, it did not take me 5 years to feel better. I followed what Dr. Smith asked me to do. In the beginning the sessions were exhausting, but it was such a great moment when I realized I felt better and was going to make it. Dr. Smith always told me “you have to feel pain to heal.” It was gut wrenching to hurt that bad. He’s was right though, feeling the pain helped me heal. I have referred many people to him and his practice. I am a firm believer that counseling, especially with Dr. Travis Smith saved my life. I will be forever grateful for the help he gave me.
