Have you ever been to a restaurant, ate something amazing and then went back and been disappointed? I have many times. Not with Great Lakes Chef Catering Services. Not only is the food delicious every time, but Chef Tamara is very knowledgeable and knows how to cater important events. I was allowed to go behind the scenes and see how the operation works and I could not belive what I seen. It was like watching one of those famous cooking shows. What’s your signature dish?
I love all sea food. I don't have a signature dish per se since all menus are customied for each individual client. Crab, halibut, lobster and a black angus New York strip are some of my favorites.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Find out their likes/dislikes, any dietary restrictions that I need to be aware of. I send them 5-6 different choices of each course. Let them choose from there and of course in they have any dishes in mind, I always accommodate.
What do you love most about your job?
The creativity. I have always loved making my own dishes. And I get to have a more personable relationship with my clients. I love using fresh organic ingredients. True farm to table with my business. It's also great to see how happy my guests are with my cuisine and that they are able to enjoy a fine dining meal in the comfort of their home or venue
What inspired you to start your own business?
Being able to expand on my creativity, make my own hours so I have a good balance between life and work. I change my personal chef menus every week to coincide with seasonal ingredients. I also am a single mother so it gives me a chance to spend more time with my little (sous chef).
Why should our clients choose you?
My business takes care of everything the client need to have a successful event. We set up, break down andake sure everything is in order. We want our clients to be able to relax and enjoy themselves. I will always beat any competitors quote. We are a small company with a great staff. We will go the extra mile to ensure our clients are enjoying themselves with their guests.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Taking all safety measures and also vaccinated. We follow strick Covid guidelines.
